C10 I Can Cure His Illness!!

Lucy was startled. "What did you say?"

Their voices carried clearly, and the other two in the room didn't miss a word.

Sabino turned to Zachary with a frosty stare. "You're talking nonsense! What do you know about medicine? I'm a resident physician at Eastern City Hospital, and I've successfully treated thousands of patients! I'm certain of my diagnostic skills!"

His assistant chimed in with a scoff, "Family members meddling in medical treatment is highly frowned upon. Dr. Sabino doesn't make diagnostic errors!"

Zachary, unfazed, calmly replied, "Even the most skilled physicians can make mistakes. I'm merely expressing my concerns. Why am I being accused of interference? The patient's pallor, profuse sweating, and low blood pressure might seem like hypoglycemia, but it's actually an allergic reaction to antibiotics, leading to excessive sweating from a fever and severe dehydration, hence the low body temperature."

Sabino bristled with annoyance.

Sensing trouble, Lucy quickly stepped in, "Doctor, he's a guest staying at my place."

"Obviously, you're out of your depth. Stop spewing your nonsense!" retorted Sabino's assistant, angered.

"I am a doctor," Zachary asserted with gravity.

"A doctor? Don't make me laugh!" Sabino sneered. "What's your name? Which hospital are you affiliated with?"

Zachary hesitated before beginning, "My name is Zachary, and I am from..."

Before he could finish, Sabino cut in with a derisive sneer, "Zachary? I recognize that name. You're the one who was expelled from Centinela Hospital. Who gave you the nerve to come here and play the charlatan?"

Zachary's face fell, his reputation evidently tarnished throughout the Zoplus medical circles.

"You couldn't even complete your internship at Centinela Hospital; you're no doctor! Lucy, don't listen to his ramblings. Following his advice could harm your son! Clearly, your son is showing symptoms of hypoglycemia-induced low blood pressure. Increasing his blood sugar is the proper treatment!" Sabino's tone was laced with contempt and dismissal.

Lucy turned to Zachary, torn with worry. "I appreciate your good intentions, but we can't delay my son's treatment any longer."

Sabino leveled a frosty gaze at Zachary. "Lucy, whether or not to give your son glucose is your call," he said, his smugness growing as Zachary remained silent. He pulled out several brightly colored pills. "These will help stabilize his condition after the glucose. You need to think this through!"

Lucy's eyes darted nervously as she considered the pills. "How much will this cost?"

"With the consultation fee, it'll be a thousand," Sabino said, unashamedly asking for a steep price.

"A thousand? Just for some glucose and a handful of pills? That seems exorbitant!" Lucy was struggling to accept the cost.

"These pills are a rare import, sought after by many. What's more crucial, your money or your son's life?" Sabino's voice was cold, his demeanor lacking any trace of compassion.

He had lost all the qualities of a caring physician, replaced by an overwhelming aura of avarice.

At that moment, the boy on the bed let out a soft cry of pain.

"I..." Lucy was overwhelmed, unsure of who to believe. Sabino's attitude hardly inspired confidence, yet Zachary's words sparked an instinctive trust.

Zachary observed the boy intently, then inhaled sharply and said resolutely, "Allow me to try. Your son doesn't need those costly medications!"

"What?" Lucy exclaimed in surprise.

"Did you catch that, Dr. Sabino? He says he has a solution! What could he possibly do?" Sabino's assistant mocked openly.

Confused, Lucy demanded, "What exactly are you suggesting? We can't delay treating my son's illness any longer."

Zachary stepped forward, placing three fingers on the boy's wrist, his touch rhythmic and assured as he checked the pulse.

Sabino laughed derisively. "You're taking his pulse? Quit the act, or you'll regret it!"

Zachary, however, remained calm and offered Lucy a comforting smile. "I'm pleased to inform you that I can cure his illness."

He had braced himself for a grave diagnosis beyond his capabilities, but upon examining the boy, he realized the situation was not as dire as he feared. Better yet, he had the means to cure him.

Zachary's declaration stunned everyone present.

Lucy's eyes widened in disbelief. "Really? Are you sure?"

"That's complete nonsense!"

Sabino and his assistant burst into angry mockery, as if they had just heard the biggest joke in the world.

With a cold stare, Sabino rebuked Zachary, "You need to take responsibility for what you say. Accusations like yours amount to fraud!"

His assistant laughed derisively, "You boast of curing a disease that's baffled every major hospital in Zoplus? That's absurd!"

Zachary faced them calmly, "Their failure doesn't guarantee mine."

"Arrogance!" Sabino exploded in fury, "You were dismissed from Centinela Hospital, and yet you still have the audacity to treat patients? This is outrageous!"

Lucy watched Zachary nervously, "Do you really have a way to help?"

"I'm not deceiving you, your son doesn't need the organ transplant they've recommended," Zachary assured her with certainty.

"Really?" Lucy could hardly believe it.

Fuming, Sabino spat out a warning, "If your treatment leads to his death, you'll be guilty of another medical tragedy! You deserved to be fired, and doctors like you should be in jail, not endangering lives!"

Zachary ignored Sabino, turning to Lucy with a serious tone, "Will you trust me?"

"I..." Lucy hesitated, torn between the two. The thought that her son might not need a transplant and could be healed by Zachary gave her hope. "Go ahead, try..."

"What?" Sabino and his assistant shouted in fury.

"Lucy, have you lost your mind? Trusting him? Are you trying to kill your son?" Sabino roared at her.

His assistant also pressed her fiercely, "Though your son's illness is complex, and current treatments may not cure him, it doesn't mean there's no future hope. If you let this man treat him, it could be deadly!"
