C6 Chapter 6

Alexander stared at Hilda sternly. His look was scary and intimidating; it sent shivers down her spine. If looks could kill, she would be dead by now. Her father looked at her irritably from where he sat. His look said: 'say yes or else…". Left with no choice, Hilda succumbed and nervously said;

"I do".

"You may kiss the bride…"

Hilda watched as Alexander unmasked her, by removing her veil. He cupped her chin and kissed her almost immediately. It was a rough and demanding kiss. Hilda couldn't wait to get out of his tight grip, because as he kissed her roughly, he held her firmly.

He let go of his grip. The people at the venue of the wedding were cheering and screaming. The media had already broadcasted the wedding live, and it was all over the Internet.

***********

A black limo with an inscription on the plate number; 'newly weds' drove into a luxurious penthouse. The place was extremely huge and spacious. Hilda was lost in the beautiful scenery before her. This penthouse was way bigger than her father's house.

"Take her in". Alexander said. He walked out from the limo with escorts, leaving Hilda all to herself.

"Ma'am. Ma'am!!" A lady in a white and black dress with a cap called out. She looked like one of the helpers. The place was extremely huge; so there ought to be more than one helper, right?

"Sorry". Hilda said, staring blankly at her.

"Please, follow me Ma'am".

"Okay". Hilda said. She followed the helper, and she led her into a spacious room. The room was extravagant. There was a walk-in closet filled with clothes already. There was also an enormous TV hanging pretty on the wall. The bathroom was spacious too. Hilda was awed.

"This is your room Ma'am. Please, if you need anything, let me know. I was assigned by Sir Alexander to be your personal maid".

"Oh, what's your name?" Hilda asked the lady, while sitting on the room's comfy bed.

"Kara. My name is Kara, Ma'am".

"Okay, thank you. If I need anything, I'll be sure to let you know".

"Okay ma'am ". Kara said. She was about to leave, but Hilda called her back.

"Hold on".

"Yes, ma'am?"

"I'm completely famished. Is there any food?"

"Of course, ma'am. Lunch will be ready in ten minutes. I'll bring yours here; or will you be okay eating at the dining table?"

"I'll be okay here. Bring the food here when it's ready please". Hilda said, and Kara hurriedly went downstairs.

Soon, lunch was ready. Kara carried Hilda's food in a tray, and headed upstairs to give her. Halfway up the stairs, she was stopped by Alexander's intimidating figure.

"Good day sir".

"And, where are you going with that?" Alexander asked.

Kara looked terrified.

"Sir- err- ma'am- err…"

"Speak up you maniac!" Alexander yelled.

"Ma'am is hungry, so I'm bringing her food to her, sir". Kara said, with her face bowed.

"And, where is she?"

"Upstairs sir, in her room".

"Take that food to the dining table this instant and get out of my fucking sight! Also, do not enter that room again today unless you're told to do so. Now,get out of here before I dismantle your essence!"

"Sorry sir, I- err-"

"Get out!!!"

Kara hurriedly left.

Hilda's POV

"Where is this lady? She said lunch will be ready in ten minutes. It's been over four hours already. Where could she be? I should probably go downstairs. Besides, I've been here all day, and I'm extremely famished".

She took one of the simple gowns from the closet. It was a short nightgown, and it barely covered her body. She wore a pair of flops with the gown, and headed downstairs.

As she got downstairs, she saw Alexander sitting majestically on a chair; separated from other chairs in a place, which looked like the dining room. He was surrounded by exquisite delicacies; and he was savouring the contents of a plate, which was placed before him.

Hilda stared at him. Considering the fact that she hadn't eaten anything since the wedding, seeing those delicacies and Alexander devouring them, made her stomach grumble.

Alexander noticed her presence.

"Oh, you're here now, Mrs Hartman. You finally decided to eat today". Alexander said, wiping his mouth with a neat napkin.

Hilda's once timid aura changed to one filled with so much anger and resentment.

"What the hell is your problem!? What is wrong with you!? You're here sitting and eating comfortably, while I, your wife, hasn't eaten anything since the wedding!"

"There are rules in this house. You can't eat in your room, when there's a dining room". Alexander said coldly.

"Excuse me!? What kind of silly rule is that? I'm not someone you can order around! I am your wife! Don't boss me around, Alex!"

Alexander hit his hands furiously on the table, which startled Hilda.

"Mind your words, woman! Don't forget who you're speaking to. I am the reason why your father still roams about with his extravagant cars and riches. One call, woman! Just one fucking phone call and every single thing he has will go down the drain".

Hilda trembled. She was extremely terrified by him.

"Now, Mrs Hartman- would you like that?" Alexander asked with a smirk on his face.

"N-no. Of course not. I- I'm sorry". She stammered.

Alexander didn't utter a word. He sat back on his chair, before devouring his dinner once more.

"I- I'm hungry". Hilda said. Her voice was barely heard, but Alexander heard what she said.

"And how is that my problem?" He asked nonchalantly.

"I'm sorry, I just thought- please, we're supposed to be happy as a couple now; don't do this. I know we don't love each other now, but let's form some common ground as we'll be living here together". Hilda said.

"Don't disturb my peace woman!" Alexander yelled.

Hilda stood, and watched as he finished the contents in the plate before him. After a while, he stood up and adjusted himself, before heading upstairs and grazing Hilda with his shoulder a little in the process.
