C12 Her Revenge Had Just Begun!

Gu Xiangyun harbored doubts, but she kept them to herself.

The Su family was ruled by the Old Madame, and Gu Xiangyun's role was to follow her commands.

At dinner, Su Mingyuan summoned everyone to the living room, where a luxurious gift box sat prominently on the table.

Inside the box, a bracelet embedded with a night pearl, clearly an artifact of ancient times, was revealed to all.

Su Nuo's eyes gleamed as she discreetly tugged at Gu Xiangyun's sleeve, whispering, "Dad really spared no expense. Knowing how much grandma adores a bracelet from the Yuan Dynasty, he went out and got it for her."

Old Madame had little interest in flashy items; her heart lay with antiques.

Su Mingyuan had shelled out 20 million for the bracelet, rumored to have adorned an Empress, underscoring the significance he placed on the upcoming birthday celebration.

"The day after tomorrow is Old Madame's birthday banquet, and this bracelet is my gift to her. Xiangyun, make sure you keep it safe," Su Mingyuan instructed Gu Xiangyun.

Bitterness swelled within Gu Xiangyun; she longed for a diamond necklace, yet Su Mingyuan had never indulged her, opting instead to gift Old Madame with this extravagant bracelet.

She masked her inner turmoil with a veneer of obedience, "Understood."

Su Mingyuan fixed his gaze on her, "You're well aware of Old Madame's preferences. Tomorrow, you'll select a gift."

Stirring her soup, Gu Xiangyun's eyes betrayed a flicker of indignation as she murmured a subdued, "Alright."

With that, Su Mingyuan pushed back his chair and ascended the stairs.

Dinner winding down, Su Jin no longer lingered in her seat, ready to depart.

Yet as she rose, Gu Xiangyun stopped her, "Hold on a second."

Su Jin paused, turning a cool gaze towards Gu Xiangyun, "What is it?"

Previously, Su Jin had treated Gu Xiangyun with utmost deference, never daring to cross her.

But Gu Xiangyun, who had grown accustomed to Su Jin's subservience, noticed a stark transformation in her demeanor since the banquet – Su Jin had become someone entirely new.

Her gaze fell upon Gu Xiangyun, whose expression had turned icy.

For an instant, Gu Xiangyun thought she saw a flash of murderous intent in Su Jin's eyes.

But then Gu Xiangyun reconsidered; Su Jin was merely a little girl, surely lacking such audacity.

With this in mind, Gu Xiangyun commanded, "Go wash the bowl and tidy up the kitchen."

Su Nuo, who had been reveling in schadenfreude, interjected, "Mother, Su Jin is the Third Lady of the Su family. You can't expect her to perform the tasks of a servant."

Gu Xiangyun let out a cold snort. "She doesn't deserve the title of the Su family's Third Lady."

Su Jin took in their amateurish performance with a detached gaze.

She glanced dispassionately at the remnants of food on the table, approached it, picked up a bowl, and smashed it to the floor.

"I won't wash the dishes."

The bowl exploded into innumerable fragments.

Color drained from Gu Xiangyun's face, while Su Nuo let out an exaggerated shriek, clapping her hands over her ears and staring at Su Jin like a startled rabbit. "Have you lost your mind?"

The commotion drew Su Mingyuan from his study. He emerged to find the floor littered with shards and his brow furrowed in displeasure.

Gu Xiangyun was about to speak, but Su Jin preempted her, "Mother felt a bit dizzy just now and accidentally dropped a bowl."

As she stooped to gather the pieces, Su Mingyuan stopped her, "Leave that to the servants. You should return to your room and work on the design drafts; that's what truly matters."

Su Jin rose to her feet, offering Su Mingyuan a faint smile. "Then I'll retire to my room now."
