Upon opening the box, Mrs. Lee's smile solidified on her face. Old Madame, puzzled, glanced from her to the contents of the box, her expression souring instantly.

"Is this the gift you've prepared for me?" Old Madame demanded of Su Mingyuan, her voice heavy with anger.

Su Mingyuan peered inside and felt a bead of sweat trickle down his forehead. The box was empty; the bracelet had vanished.

"What is the meaning of this?" he bellowed at Gu Xiangyun.

Feigning alarm, Gu Xiangyun responded, "I have no idea. Su Jin was in charge of the box."

As she spoke, all eyes turned to Su Jin.

Su Nuo furrowed her brow, seemingly coming to Su Jin's defense, "Sister, stop teasing grandma. Bring out the bracelet now."

Su Jin surveyed the room, her gaze landing on Gu Xiangyun, who nervously sipped her tea.

Beside Gu Xiangyun, Su Nuo wore a look of someone enjoying the drama unfold.

Old Madame's gaze on Su Jin was tinged with disappointment.

Su Nuo's insinuation had all but painted Su Jin as the keeper of the bracelet. Now, Su Jin was at a loss for words.

Even if she produced the bracelet, she'd be branded a thief. And worse, the bracelet wasn't in her possession.

"Come on, take it out already," Su Mingyuan implored, his forehead glistening with anxiety. He had invested so much into this banquet, all to curry favor with Old Madame and persuade her to relinquish the remaining fifty percent of the shares.

But it seemed Su Jin had thrown a wrench into his plans.

Facing the wrathful Su Mingyuan and the disheartened Old Madame, Su Jin declared, "The bracelet isn't with me."

Her words sent a shockwave through the room.

"How can that be?" Su Nuo was the first to react, "You were responsible for the box."

Gu Xiangyun's eyes gleamed with malicious delight, yet she chided, "This is no laughing matter. That bracelet is extremely valuable. Did you lose it?"

Upon hearing this, Old Madame's countenance grew even more displeased, her patience with Su Jin wearing thin.

"The bracelet may not be in my possession, but I assure you, I can find it," Su Jin stated, her smile brimming with confidence.

The Old Madame's interest was piqued, and she asked with a hint of wonder, "How do you plan to find it?"

"Mrs. Lee, could you please turn off the light?" Su Jin requested.

Mrs. Lee glanced at the Old Madame and waited for her nod before following Su Jin's instruction.

With the lights off, the room plunged into darkness.

Yet, a faint glow emerged from where Gu Xiangyun stood.

"What's that?" Despite her poor eyesight, the Old Madame could make out the light.

Gu Xiangyun let out a shriek as if she had encountered a specter. She hastily pulled the bracelet from her pocket and flung it to the floor as though it burned her.

Simultaneously, the lights flickered back on.

The vanished bracelet was now lying at Gu Xiangyun's feet.

Her face etched with panic, she attempted to kick the bracelet aside.

"Mother, what are you doing?" Su Jin scooped up the bracelet and gently dusted it off. "This was a gift from my father to Grandma. You not only took it without permission but also tried to set me up. Why would you do such a thing?"

Suddenly, Gu Xiangyun found herself the focus of everyone's scorn, her gaze darting about in alarm, akin to a thief caught red-handed.

Gu Xiangyun's words faltered. Seeing Su Jin's smile, she bellowed with rage, "You! You set me up, didn't you?"

Feigning distress, Su Jin replied, "Mother, even if you disapprove of the lavish gift my father presented to Grandma, that's no excuse for your actions. How could it be me framing you when the bracelet was found on your person?"

"You wretch, you dare to deny it? I distinctly placed that bracelet in your pocket!" Gu Xiangyun blurted out, then abruptly clapped a hand over her mouth.
