C17 Child Bride

Allie appeared in the hospital on the afternoon of the day after tomorrow.

She had been busy with her clinic these few days, so she did not have the time to go out and ask him for his phone. Since she had an appointment with Adelaide today, she decided to come over to the hospital first.

She went to the reception desk and asked for the location of his office. Then, she took the elevator and went upstairs.

The elevator door opened on the twenty-third floor.

Allie walked to the nurse's desk and asked, "May I ask if Doctor Nick is here?"

"Doctor Nick, the second office is in front of you. He just entered the operating theater. You can go to his office and wait for him." The nurse pointed at the office.

Allie walked forward.

"Who is this country bumpkin? Doctor Nick just came back to the country. Is he a child bride from the countryside?" The young nurse covered her mouth and asked.

"Doctor Nick is the new god of our hospital. It is not appropriate for him to be with such a country bumpkin. Look, he even brought a basket of eggs," another young nurse said.

Of course, Allie heard their conversation. She did indeed bring a basket of eggs with her. She took two carts of eggs before she could get here. Moreover, none of the eggs were broken.

She bit her lip and pretended to walk into his office as if nothing had happened. The office was very simple. There was his nameplate on the table, "Head Physician Nick of the Cardiothoracic Department."

She placed the eggs on the table and stayed there for a long time. When she did not see anyone else, she took a deep breath and walked out of the door.

The thought of seeing him suddenly stopped. In front of him, she had seen him again and again. In the end, she chose to escape.

Since she could not cross him, why should she choose to cross him? If she did not cross him, she could still imagine the scenery on the other side of the river. If she crossed him, she would probably die. If she did not cross him, she would probably lose everything.

The nurse at the nurse station saw her come out. Allie went up and said, "Please tell Nick that his things are on the table. Thank you."

After saying that, she raised her head and walked towards the elevator.

The nurse shook her head and said, "Look, how can that be? How can this child bride leave just like that? Besides, how can Nick be so blind?"

The heart bypass surgery lasted for two hours. After the operation, Nick finally came back from the operating room with fatigue.

He was very tall and thin. He looked very good in a white coat, so he became the new hot topic in the hospital. He was very popular among the nurses and female doctors.

"Doctor Nick, a girl just came to look for you. She left a basket of eggs on your table," the nurse chased after Nick and said.

Nick responded and walked into his office.

There was a basket of eggs on the table. On the top of the basket was a piece of white paper. On the paper was a sentence. He picked it up and looked at it.

"Nick, this is for you. Thank you for helping Ah Huang give birth. Remember to eat it. I came at the wrong time. It seems that I have to return my phone. When you have time, call me. I'll come back to get it." Allie said.

The handwriting was clean and elegant. It was said that a person’s handwriting was like his or her character. A person who wrote so neatly should be like that too.

"Allie, egg, dog." Nick muttered these words. When he thought of the scene where they had delivered the baby together a few days ago, the distance from the Medical Clinic to this place was not short. She was really obedient. When others asked her to deliver the baby, she would deliver it.

"Hey, I heard that a child bride came to find you and even brought a basket of eggs. Girls nowadays are rare animals. Let me take a look." Hearing the voice, Nick put away the paper in his hand and stuffed it into the drawer.
