C8 You Bitch and Dog!

Early the next morning, after cooking breakfast at home, Rollins rode his electric bike to Wandos Company. Before he could arrive, Heyden called with a tone of deference, "Young Master, I've arranged for all the executives to line up and welcome you at the entrance. When will you be here?"

Rollins replied calmly, "Have everyone disperse. I have no intention of revealing my identity. Otherwise, why would I have appointed you as chairman?"

Heyden instantly grasped Rollins's intent, his nervousness causing him to sweat profusely. His attempt at flattery had nearly backfired. It was a good thing he had called ahead; otherwise, if Rollins had arrived to a welcoming party, he might have been furious enough to dismiss Heyden on the spot.

Quickly, Heyden assured him, "Young Master, I'll disperse the crowd right away!"

"Good," Rollins said. "Return to your office. I'll come find you when I arrive."

"Of course, Young Master!" Heyden responded.

After ending the call, Rollins parked his electric bike in the lot of Wandos Company. As he was locking up, a sleek black Bentley pulled into a space across from him. Glancing up, he saw a young couple step out of the vehicle.

The man was dressed in a sharp suit, exuding an air of sophistication, while the woman was clad in an eye-catching, albeit slightly tacky, outfit. Rollins recognized her immediately—it was Elena, Zoie's cousin.

The man was presumably her fiancé, Kasch, the scion of the well-regarded Perez family. Locally renowned, the Perez family was considerably more affluent and influential than the Ramirez family.

Old Madame Ramirez had long been eager for Elena to marry into the Perez family, hoping it would open new avenues of growth for her own family. Rollins, however, had always harbored a distaste for Elena, mainly because of her underhanded nature. She had consistently seen her cousin Zoie as a rival, yet in every aspect—beauty, physique, grace, education, and upbringing—she fell short of Zoie's standards.

Elena maintained a facade of friendliness toward Zoie, but deep down, she harbored intense jealousy and resentment. When Zoie married Rollins, Elena was overjoyed, unable to sleep from excitement. She believed her cousin had settled for a worthless husband, which meant she now had a chance to outdo her in the marriage stakes.

Elena then set her sights on Kasch, going out of her way to win his favor, even to the point of offering herself to him. Her efforts paid off, and they reached the stage of discussing marriage.

Once aligned with the Perez family, Elena strutted around the Ramirez household with an air of superiority. She couldn't resist making snide remarks to Zoie and Rollins whenever she saw them, as a way to vent the years of bitterness she felt toward Zoie.

Rollins was unaware of the reason behind Elena and Kasch's visit to Wandos Company. To avoid complications, he intended to steer clear of them, but Elena, with her keen eyes, spotted him immediately and called out, "Hey, brother-in-law!" with feigned warmth.

Rollins inwardly groaned at the greeting, bracing himself for the encounter. Out of politeness, he stopped and waited for them to approach before smiling and asking, "Elena, what brings you here?"

With a giggle, Elena replied, "Kasch and I are here to deliver an invitation to President Wang of Wandos Company for our engagement party!"

She then gazed at Kasch lovingly and continued, "The Perez family has a longstanding collaboration with Wandos. With President Heyden now in charge, we're here to strengthen that bond. It's a win-win for both our families."

Rollins was taken aback, having just learned of the Perez family's dealings with Wandos Company, a recent addition to his portfolio he had yet to fully explore.

Nevertheless, he kept his composure and with a congenial smile, he remarked, "Ah, so this is your fiancé, Kasch Perez. He certainly looks the part of a distinguished gentleman!"

Kasch looked at Rollins with a sneer, a sense of injustice brewing within him.

The guy was the epitome of a deadbeat.

How on earth did a stunner like Zoie end up with such a nobody? It baffled him.

Had it not been for this waste of space, he would have pursued Zoie relentlessly and made her his. Instead, he found himself engaged to Elena, who paled in comparison in every way.

Sadly, Zoie was off the market, a married woman. Kasch had long coveted her, but the Perez family's principles forbade him from chasing a married woman.

With a mocking tone, Kasch taunted Rollins, "Look who it is, the brother-in-law! I hear you're quite the homemaker, living off your wife. What brings you to Wandos Company?"

Unruffled by the mockery, Rollins replied simply, "I'm here to find a job."

"Find a job?" Elena chimed in with a scoff, seizing the opportunity to belittle him, "Rollins, you're the epitome of incompetence, and you think you can land a job at Wandos Company? Ever heard of self-awareness?"

Elena had only wanted to give Rollins a piece of her mind under the guise of concern, not expecting Kasch to beat her to it. Dropping the act, she joined in the ridicule.

To Elena, the idea of Rollins, the ultimate underachiever, job hunting was laughable, especially at the city's top enterprise.

Rollins's expression chilled as he shot back, "Elena, my self-awareness, or lack thereof, is none of your business, is it?"

Elena raised an eyebrow, her arms folded in disdain, "Oh? Am I wrong?"

"Do you even have a degree to speak of educationally?" she asked with a sneer, then pressed on,

"And what about professionally? Any achievements to your name?"

"You wouldn't stand a chance at a security guard position with Wandos Company, let alone anything else. If you had any sense, you'd be better off scavenging the streets for trash—you could at least make a couple thousand a month that way!"

After finishing her taunt, she tossed the empty beverage bottle at Rollins's feet with a sneer. "There you go, a little token of care from your sister-in-law. Why don't you pick up that bottle and make some cash by selling it?"

Kasch chimed in with a mocking tone, "Oh, Elena, he may be your brother-in-law, but that's no excuse for such rudeness."

He then addressed Rollins, "Brother-in-law, you might be worthless, but you're still family. I suppose I should look out for you. As it happens, I'm on good terms with President Heyden of Wandos Company. How about I put in a good word for you? Maybe get you a job cleaning toilets?"

Rollins gave a cold smile in response. "I don't need your concern over my career choices. You should focus on yourself. Wandos is a reputable company, and I doubt they'd ever partner with someone as low-class as you."

Kasch's anger flared at the insult. "Who are you calling trash?!"

With a dismissive sneer, Rollins replied, "If the shoe fits..."

He then turned his back on Kasch, intent on ignoring him, and strode toward the Wandos Company building.

Kasch, seething with rage and not one to be ignored, followed Rollins to the elevator entrance, determined to confront him.

He had planned to give Rollins a piece of his mind, maybe even a couple of slaps, to teach him the consequences of crossing a Young Master. But realizing they were inside the Wandos building, and not wanting to upset the new President Heyden, he reluctantly held back.

Biting back his anger, Kasch hissed, "You're lucky today, you idiot. But don't expect to be so fortunate next time!"

Rollins let out a contemptuous snort as he stepped into the elevator. "Kasch, you think you're something special? Believe me, it won't be long before you learn the cost of your arrogance."

"Wait!" Kasch was on the verge of charging into the elevator when Elena grabbed his arm, her voice dripping with contempt. "Kasch, don't bother sharing an elevator with that kind of filth. You'll just sully yourself with his stink. Look at my sister, Zoie—her brain's been so fogged by his foulness that she actually married the guy!"

Kasch gave a reluctant nod, recognizing that this wasn't the place for a confrontation. With a frosty tone, he warned, "I'm sparing you this time. But next time, you won't be so lucky."

Rollins just sneered in response. As the elevator doors slid shut, he tossed out a parting shot, "Enjoy each other's company, you pair of lowlifes."
