C2 I Don't Agree!!

"How's that for you? Scared yet? Just so you know, if you don't kneel and beg for forgiveness today, you're not walking out of here!"

"And you two little brats, you're going to kneel and own up to your mistakes too!"

Sun Jie continued her rant, oblivious to the chilling drop in temperature around her.

Feeling the icy murderous intent in Wood's gaze, the two security guards inwardly groaned, frozen in place.

Denis's heart raced with fear, dreading that Wood might unleash a bloodbath.

As Larkin approached, Sun Jie's excitement surged, and she hurried to meet him.

"Mr. Zhou, it's a true privilege to be greeted by you in person!"

Larkin, in his early forties, stood tall and distinguished, his temples graying. Dressed in a tailored, high-end suit, he spared Sun Jie only a brief glance before moving past her.

In a moment that left everyone in shock, he knelt before Wood, his eyes alight with fervent respect.

"Larkin, at your service, greets the God of Soldier. May you be blessed with boundless prosperity and longevity!"

A hush fell over the crowd, so profound you could hear a pin drop.

Then, the airport lobby erupted into chaos!

Eyes bulged in sheer astonishment.

The King of Brialedo was kneeling before a young man in a worn military uniform, his reverence palpable!

But the most stunned was Sun Jie, standing motionless, her face the picture of defeat, her spirit crushed.

"Let's go, we'll talk outside!"

Wood, frowning at the gathering onlookers, scooped up the two children and made his exit.

"Cooper, deal with this foolish woman."

Denis, following close behind, murmured to Larkin as he passed by.

As the sole Seven Fiend by Wood's side, Denis's strength wasn't his main asset—it was his smooth diplomacy.

"Got it!"

Larkin nodded gravely, mentally relegating Sun Jie to his blacklist.

Crossing the God of Soldier was a fate one couldn't escape!

While others might not grasp the full extent of the God of Soldier's dread, Larkin's memory of it was etched deep.

Once a middle-aged man shattered by life, he had risen to become Brialedo's wealthiest under the God of Soldier's wing in a mere three years.

"Ms. Stark, consider our agreement null and void!"

"You're banned from participating in any future activities or endorsements involving Changqing Company!" Larkin declared, striding away and leaving Sun Jie slumped on the ground, utterly despondent. She knew her acting career was finished.

Outside the airport.

"God of Soldier, how should we handle this little girl?" Denis inquired, glancing at the little girl snuggled in Wood's embrace.

"Daddy, please don't send Selena away. Let's wait here together for Mom. Can you be my dad?" Selena implored, having overheard Denis. Her large, expressive eyes brimmed with tears, giving her a heartbreakingly woeful appearance.

"Selena, sweetheart, I have my own kids. I can't be your dad," Wood replied, his voice tender and soft. Thoughts of his own daughter, whom he hadn't seen in five years, flashed through his mind—was she just as adorable as Selena?

"Wah... Daddy doesn't want Selena anymore. Now Selena is without a dad again." Selena's tears flowed freely, drawing the attention of passersby. However, upon spotting Larkin, they quickly lost interest in the spectacle.

"Selena, be brave. Don't cry, okay? I'm really not your dad," Wood said, feeling out of his depth. He had never felt so flustered, not even when facing the ten supreme beings from beyond their realm.

"Little sis, it's okay. Daddy won't send you away," Eldon reassured her, taking Selena's hand. He then shot Wood a look that clearly said, 'If you don't handle this, I will.'

"Really? Daddy?" Selena's crying ceased, and she looked at Wood with hopeful eyes.

Under the watchful gaze of those two pairs of shimmering eyes, Wood had no choice but to agree.

"God of Soldier, are you sure this is okay?" Denis asked cautiously.

Wood was excellent in many respects, but he had a soft spot for children.

"It's decided. Let the airport know that after the son-in-law selection event, we'll send Selena back," Wood stated firmly, leaving no room for argument.

"Cooper, this is your responsibility now. The boss and I are heading out. I'll catch up with you in a couple of days," Denis said, passing the baton to Larkin with practiced ease. After snatching the keys from Larkin, he departed with Wood.

Brialedo, the Liu Family Villa!

Nestled on the outskirts of central Brialedo, the estate sprawled across dozens of acres, its decor resplendent and grandiose.

Luxury cars swarmed outside the Liu family villa, monopolizing every parking space within a two-kilometer radius.

The villa buzzed with a symphony of voices. Business magnates and high-ranking dignitaries hobnobbed, seemingly engrossed in light-hearted banter, yet their gazes covertly fixed on the second floor.

For upstairs, the decision of who would be the next son-in-law was being made!

Tella's search for a husband was causing as much of a stir in Brialedo as her previous scandal of having a child out of wedlock.

Tella herself was somewhat of a legend. As one of Brialedo's renowned "golden flowers," her beauty and fame had attracted countless suitors, all of whom she had rejected.

However, her unwed motherhood five years prior had turned her family into the butt of jokes across Brialedo. She was expelled from the Griffiths family, only to claw her way back in through sheer determination and skill.

On the second floor of the Griffiths family villa!

"Dad, what do you think of these candidates?"

A young man, brimming with enthusiasm, passed a stack of profiles to the middle-aged man beside him.

This man was Burrell, the Griffiths family's eldest son, and the young man was his son Emit, the beloved eldest grandson of the family.

"Wang Lin, 28, project director at Guang Gu Group. He may look genteel, but he's a sadistic abuser with a history of allegations against him."

"Zhao Liu, once the Zhao family's pride, now a cautionary tale of substance abuse and a life squandered in debauchery, leaving his family in tatters."

...

Burrell's face lit up with a smug grin as he perused the documents in Emit's hands, thinking proudly, 'The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. He's got my instincts!'

Tella's commercial triumphs had cast a shadow over the father and son duo, breeding a venomous resentment. Now, as she was poised to select a son-in-law, they were determined to choose the most "appropriate" candidate—for a scheme of their own design.

"He's the right match—comes from a similar background, a drug addict, and a scoundrel to boot."

Burrell slammed his gavel, cementing the decision amidst the unanimous nods of the Griffiths clan.

What a picture of harmony, he thought.

"Grandma, I've agreed to the son-in-law selection. When will Selena be allowed to return?"

Tella watched her jubilant relatives with a stoic expression, her teeth clenched, her gaze locked on the stooped silhouette before her.

"Don't worry. Once the selection is over, Selena will be back," the old woman assured her.

That woman was the Griffiths family matriarch, her back to Tella, a knowing smile playing across her creased face, confident in her plans.

Tella, though talented and decisive like her younger self, lacked a certain ferocity.

And Selena was the key to controlling Tella.

"Time to announce the results," the matriarch said, her dragon-headed cane tapping the ground, commanding silence. Emit strode out with confidence at her signal.

"Ladies and gentlemen, after a thorough selection process and Tella's final say, we have chosen Mr. Marsh Liu as the Griffiths family's future son-in-law!"

Emit's announcement sent shockwaves through the room.

Marsh Liu?

The drug addict who had lost everything?

Tella's sharp gaze said it all.

"Marsh Liu? No way! He's a bankrupt addict. This is like throwing Tella into a fire pit," Hassie, Tella's mother, immediately objected.

She had aspirations of marrying her daughter into a wealthy family to break free from the Griffiths' grip. Marrying her to a drug addict was out of the question.

"Do you object?" The matriarch's stern look quieted Hassie, who quickly fell silent, not daring to speak again.

Tella's face remained impassive. For Selena's safe return, she would accept this, though the image of a vague figure haunted her thoughts.

But would it change anything?

"I don't agree!"

Abruptly, the door burst open, and a man holding two children stormed in!
