C20 You Still Remember Your Son
Shen Mannge seemed to have returned to the great fire. Her eyes were blurry and her desperate pleas for help were ignored.
"No! Help! Help me!"
She was sweating and waving her hands about like a helpless child.
Lan Lingyu immediately grabbed her hands and said with a pained heart, "Mannge, it's okay. It's okay. I'm here, don't be scared."
She did not know what Shen Mannge had experienced five years ago, but everyone in Sea City knew about the great fire five years ago. No one could fully heal from a nightmare like that.
She had heard that everything had burned to the ground in the fire. The flames continued to burn for several hours.
"Pain! I'm in so much pain! Save me, I'm going to die from the pain!"
Shen Mannge grabbed onto Lan Lingyu's hand as if she was grabbing onto a lifeline. Her grip was strong and her nails dug into Lan Lingyu's skin. She was in scorching pain, but still this pain could not be compared to the despair in her heart.
"What exactly did you go through? And why go to a tattoo parlor? Mannge, you have too many secrets that you carry on your shoulders. How do you expect me to help you when I don't know anything?"
Lan Lingyu's eyes became moist.
She wanted to seek justice for Shen Mannge, but who was responsible for her pain?
It was Ye Nanxuan!
The crown prince of Sea City. Its leader.
A mere stomp of his foot could cause the entire Sea City to quake. What could a small fish like herself do?
The only thing Lan Lingyu could do for Shen Mannge was to provide her with a safe place to stay at, and help her with as many trivial matters as possible.
She could feel that Shen Mannge had planned for her return. She might even have something important that she wanted to do, but Shen Mannge didn't tell her, so Lan Lingyu did not ask. Now, as she saw Shen Mannge's pain written on her face, Lan Lingyu felt unspeakably sad.
With great difficulty, Shen Mannge calmed down. However, the tears in the corner of her eyes never stopped flowing. She constantly whimpered, constantly asked 'why', and constantly called out the names of Ziang and Luoluo.
The night passed by like this until both of them fell asleep.
Shen Mannge woke up when the morning sun's rays shone through the window and touched her face.
She looked at the white ceiling, then looked at the white bed she had been sleeping on. It took her a moment to realize where she was.
Next to her bed, Lan Lingyu was still asleep. Shen Mannge moved her arms and woke Lan Lingyu up.
"You're awake? Do you still feel any discomfort? I'll get you a doctor."
Lan Lingyu asked her at once, then ran out of the room before Shen Mannge could say anything.
Shen Mannge could not help but laugh. She could still feel that her entire body was sore and weak.
It seemed that Sea City was not too happy with her. She had fallen ill the moment she returned.
By the time the doctor arrived, Shen Mannge had more or less recovered and was better. Because of the doctor's aid, Shen Mannge had escaped danger, but she still needed her medicines.
"You can't be so careless in the future. You're allergic to drugs, but you still went to get tattooed. Do you want to die?"
the doctor scolded Shen Mannge as she listened to him quietly. She did not say a word.
She had been prone to allergies for a long time. When she gave birth to Shen Ziang and Shen Luoluo, and when Tang Ziyuan had allowed her to fix her face and restore it to a normal appearance, she had known that she was allergic to medicine. In the past five years, she had managed to restored her face, but it had also shocked her body countless times. Luckily, Tang Ziyuan had always been by her side, always taking care of her and not allowing her to fall seriously ill.
If Ye Nanxuan had not suspected her and not wanted to check her body, she might not have risked getting a tattoo to cover the burn wounds.
But how could she talk to a doctor about such things?
The doctor saw that Shen Mannge was being very obedient, so he gave her a few instructions before leaving, saying that she could leave the hospital any time she chose to.
After the doctor left, Lan Lingyu quickly turned around to look at Shen Mannge.
"Why did you go to the tattoo parlor? Don't tell me that you didn't know you were allergic to such drugs."
Seeing that Lan Lingyu seemed to want to get to the bottom of the matter and would not budge, Shen Mannge sighed and told Lan Lingyu everything.
"Are you crazy? Just so Ye Nanxuan doesn't find out about your true identity, you are going to ruin yourself like this? For such a scumbag? Is it really worth it? What if something happens to you? Have you thought about that?"
Lan Lingyu was vexed.
Shen Mannge told her in a low voice, "The tattoo artist was Tang Ziyuan's recommendation to me, so I know that he was safe to go to. If he had not diluted the concentration of the ink, I might have been worse. Don't worry, I'm fine. I had some anti-inflammatory medicine when I got back, but I didn't expect it to scare you guys so much... By the way, where's Ziang?"
"Luckily, you still remember your son."
Lan Lingyu was still furious, but she couldn't blame her friend. No matter what she was planning to do to Ye Nanxuan, Lan Lingyu felt that it was justified.
"Where did Ziang go?" Shen Mannge repeated.
She shook Lan Lingyu's arm, looking just like she did when she was younger.
Lan Lingyu massaged her temples helplessly and said with some exasperation in her voice, "This is a hospital. Diseases and germs linger here, so could I really let him stay? Ziang is at home. If there's nothing else now, I'll go and handle your discharge procedures and quickly go home to take a look at how he is doing. I'm a bit worried about the kid."
"All right."
Shen Mannge was also anxious to return home. Shen Ziang had been home by himself for the whole night. Was he all right? She could not help but get worried.
