For the first time in weeks, I slept smoothly, something I thought would never be possible with Rose in the hospital. There had been no conflict of thoughts to keep me awake. Just a clear head and a tired body. An almost perfect combination. When I woke up the next morning, the sun was just beginning its ascent into the sky.
