C11 The Princess Was Captured
Shortly thereafter, the small card vanished and the original image reappeared. Zhao Sitong found it quite amusing, so she pressed the button again and the flashing card reappeared. She enjoyed it so much that she alternated between the two ATMs, watching the screen change and trying to decipher some unfamiliar text, momentarily forgetting her troubles.
Meanwhile, an older woman entered the bank and was astonished to see a young woman, dressed inappropriately for the season, frantically pressing buttons on the ATM. Could she be attempting a robbery? After a moment's thought, she discreetly stepped aside, dialed 911, reported the location, and then hid to observe.
Before long, two police officers arrived at the self-service bank, where Zhao Sitong was still gleefully pressing the ATM buttons.
"Police, Miss, we received a report of a robbery! Please come with us to the station for questioning," one officer announced, displaying his badge before securing Zhao Sitong's hands behind her back and leading her outside.
"Hey, why would I rob a bank?! You're falsely accusing me!" Zhao Sitong protested as she realized her hands were restrained. Despite her struggles, she was no match for the strength of the two officers and was eventually placed in the police car and taken away.
Imperial Garden
Su Qi was still buzzing from his energetic rendition of "Dead or Alive" as he sat down next to Rong Xiaoyi. "Hey, where do you think that girl is now?"
"Since when did you start gossiping like Lang?" Rong Xiaoyi asked, exasperated. Su Qi had been asking the same question all evening.
"What's it got to do with me?" Qin Lang chimed in, overhearing his name. "But seriously, that girl was quite a character. Why do all the beauties only notice Chen, though?"
"Haha, maybe you should take a look in the mirror," Su Qi teased Qin Lang without mercy.
"Can't we have a pleasant chat? I'm adored by everyone I meet!" Qin Lang boasted, striking a confident pose. After all, he was a celebrity heartthrob with looks that ranked at the top of the entertainment industry.
"Haha!" Everyone burst into laughter at Qin Lang's joke.
"Wenn Tao, your phone." Gu Xiyan pointed to the mobile phone on the table, alerting Wenn Tao who was engrossed in a game of "Guess the Size".
"Thanks! Hello?" Wenn Tao picked up the call and headed for the door, "What? Okay, I'm on my way."
"What's up?" Rong Xiaoyi, who was closer to the door, inquired upon hearing Wenn Tao's conversation.
"The station has apprehended a mentally unstable individual. They can't handle it and need me to return. You guys carry on, I'll treat you to dinner another time." Wenn Tao gave Rong Xiaoyi's shoulder a reassuring pat.
"Wenn Tao, you're leaving already?" Su Qi asked, frowning in disappointment.
"I have no choice; there's an issue at the station I must attend to. Enjoy yourselves." With that, Wenn Tao bid everyone farewell and departed, leaving Rong Xiaoyi and the rest to their revelries at the Imperial Garden.
Wenn Tao hurried back to the police station.
Upon opening the office door, two duty officers immediately approached him.
"Bureau Director Wenn, thank goodness you've arrived," they exclaimed, as relieved as if they'd found a lifeline.
"What's the situation?" Wenn Tao inquired, looking at them both.
"Oh, it's been a night. While on duty, we got a tip about someone vandalizing an ATM on the bustling street, apparently attempting a robbery. We got there and found this oddly dressed woman, wildly pounding on the ATM," one officer explained, massaging his temple with evident frustration. "We detained her, but she kept referring to herself as 'Her Majesty' and accused us of lawlessness!"
"Indeed! We attempted to communicate, but she's clearly... not well," the other officer added, tapping his temple.
Wenn Tao's brow furrowed. "Where is she now?"
"In the interrogation room."
"Let's go have a look, then."
Wenn Tao and the two officers made their way to the interrogation room together.
