However, as Soong Ruanruan was getting ready to prepare some fruit in the kitchen, she was startled by Fu Sui's suddenly tense voice exclaiming, "You, what's happened to you?"

Soong Ruanruan's face went pale. Dropping the knife, she dashed outside.

The little girl was clutching her chest, her face so ashen it was nearly colorless, and she was breathing rapidly.

Then, without any warning, she collapsed to the ground.

"An An!" Soong Ruanruan's eyes widened in horror as she let out a piercing scream. Scooping her up, she turned to Fu Sui, "Dear Sui, come with me."

She hurried downstairs, placed the little girl in the back seat of the car, and Fu Sui scrambled into the back seat as well.

Her lips pressed together firmly, Soong Ruanruan's heart seemed to hang in the balance, her fingers gripping the steering wheel tightly as she continuously prayed inwardly.

It appeared An An's condition had taken a turn for the worse. She just had to be okay.

Fu Sui's eyes never left Soong Le'ann, fearful of any sudden complications.

In a soft voice, he asked, "Why is she like this?"

Soong Ruanruan's voice was strained, betraying a hint of distress, "She needs a compatible donor for her condition, but..."

She trailed off, unable to finish. For years, she had been searching for a bone marrow donor to match Soong Le'ann, but her own wasn't suitable, nor had she found a compatible one.

After a few seconds of silence, Fu Sui, staring at the little girl's pallid, bloodless face, said, "I can try. Maybe I'll be a match."

Soong Ruanruan gently touched his head, "But you know, the procedure is very painful, and we need your dad's consent first."

If Fu Jingchuan found out she had taken Fu Sui for testing without his knowledge, he'd be furious.

Ultimately, he was just a child. The thought of pain made him hesitate, but after a moment, he nodded resolutely, repeating, "Maybe it will work."

Upon reaching the hospital, An An was rushed into the operating room.

Soong Ruanruan and Fu Sui waited anxiously outside.

Soong Ruanruan pinched her hand, willing herself to stay calm. After several deep breaths, her racing heart began to settle.

She crouched down and gently addressed the visibly anxious Fu Sui, "Dear Sui, I've asked Mr. Steward to come and take you home. I need to apply some makeup now, is that okay?"

She still had to apply makeup to avoid drawing attention to herself.

Soong Ruanruan stood up, and Fu Sui quickly clutched at her clothes. When she looked back at him, he clenched his teeth and asked, "She's going to be okay, right?"

Though uncertain, Soong Ruanruan managed a tender smile and reassured him, "Your sister will be fine."

After composing herself, Soong Ruanruan returned to find Fu Sui still obediently waiting, albeit with a complexion much paler than before. Concerned, she hurried over and asked, "Dear Sui, what's the matter?"

Fu Sui pressed his lips together and shook his head, his youthful voice slightly raspy, "I'm fine."

Soong Ruanruan took Fu Sui's hand and led him outside the hospital. They missed Mr. Steward, but Lo Qing arrived, driving up to them.

"Sui!" Upon seeing Fu Sui, Lo Qing quickly approached, intending to take his hand from Soong Ruanruan.

Fu Sui sidestepped, avoiding her grasp.

Lo Qing's smile faltered, and she withdrew her hand, turning her gaze to Soong Ruanruan. "Miss Soong, please let me take Sui. I'll bring him home."

Soong Ruanruan remained stoic and silent.

With her daughter still in surgery, she was now forced to hand her son over to the woman she despised. It was an unpleasant necessity.

Nonetheless, moments later, she reluctantly placed the little boy into Lo Qing's car.

Before departing, she addressed Lo Qing coolly, "Thank you for your help, Miss Lo."

As Soong Ruanruan walked away, Lo Qing watched her with a cold, suspicious gaze. Why had Soong Ruanruan brought Fu Sui to the hospital but not taken him back herself?

And what exactly happened today that led to this sudden hospital visit? She was determined to get to the bottom of it.
