C6 Fu Jingchuan That Bastard!!
Soong Ruanruan exited the airport with her daughter and immediately spotted Ji Yu waiting for them at the curbside.
"Mr. Yu!" she called out, greeting him warmly. Her daughter, bubbling with excitement like a little bird, dashed toward Ji Yu, eager to leap into his embrace. "Uncle Lin Shu! Did you miss An An?"
During their time abroad, Soong Ruanruan frequently video-called Ji Yu. Her daughter had grown quite fond of him and had been longing to see him.
Ji Yu scooped her up and affectionately tickled her nose, saying, "Of course, how could Uncle not miss our adorable An An?"
Watching her daughter's charming antics, Soong Ruanruan chuckled and shook her head, "She's such a little charmer."
Once they were all in the car, Ji Yu, who was driving, eventually voiced his concern, "Ruanruan, Fu Jingchuan has been searching for you for years."
Soong Ruanruan glanced up, locking eyes with Ji Yu's worried gaze in the rearview mirror. She furrowed her brow and held her daughter closer. There was no way she would let Fu Jingchuan take her An An away!
Not long after, Soong Ruanruan joined the staff at the hospital where Ji Yu worked, taking on the role of a psychiatrist.
One day, while in her office, she heard a disturbance outside. Frowning, she decided to investigate the cause.
"What's going on?" she inquired of the nearby nurse.
"Oh, Dr. Soong," the nurse greeted her before explaining, "It's the Fu family's Little Young Master. He's been brought in for treatment but seems rather uncooperative."
"The Fu family?" she queried with a frown.
The nurse gave an involuntary eye roll. "Which other Fu family could it be? The Fu family from A City, with their towering influence, led by Fu Jingchuan, the president of Fu's Group. He's known to be aloof and suddenly, there's talk of a son who's fallen ill."
"Indeed, with the Fu family's vast empire, no one dares to cross them. The Little Young Master nearly turned Dr. Xu's office upside down, and nobody dared to intervene."
Soong Ruanruan's eyes widened as a surge of anger and heartache overwhelmed her. Her hands, hanging by her sides, clenched into fists unconsciously.
That bastard Fu Jingchuan!
Without thinking, she made her way toward the neighboring office. The nurse watched her retreat with a curious gaze.
Dr. Soong was a recent addition to the hospital staff, rumored to be a relative of Dr. Ji. With her dark complexion, large black-rimmed glasses, and a perpetual mask, she appeared unremarkable and reserved.
As Soong Ruanruan opened the door, her hand shook slightly. She looked up to see a small figure on the sofa, hugging his knees.
The office was a disaster area, with almost everything smashable or throwable strewn across the floor.
Dr. Xu stood not far from the boy, trying in vain to coax a response from him. He was at his wits' end, for this was the Little Young Master of the Fu family, whose whims he had to indulge, even if it meant watching his office contents hurled out the window with a smile.
Upon seeing Soong Ruanruan enter, he turned to her and began, "Dr. Soong, you..."
At the sound, Fu Sui, who was seated on the sofa, looked up and caught sight of Soong Ruanruan, her eyes brimming with unshed tears.
Fu Sui watched her intently for a moment. His previously tight-lipped and angry demeanor softened into a curious stare.
Soong Ruanruan was taken aback upon seeing the child's face—it was a shock indeed! The same child she had encountered at the airport!
He was her son!
Her hands began to tremble, and her eyes reddened involuntarily.
Fu Sui didn't bear a strong resemblance to Fu Jingchuan, but as she looked closer, she could make out traces of Jingchuan in him.
How could she have been so foolish not to realize it before?
With a lump in her throat, she crouched down to meet Fu Sui's gaze, now peaceful, ready to speak when a tall figure strode in from outside, calling out, "Fu Sui!"
