C16 Chapter 15

"S-sassy?" I called out when I saw my best friend staring back at me.

She was just staring at me when suddenly her eyes started to tear up. She immediately run towards my direction and enveloped me with a tight embrace.

"Fhyra!" She called out as she hugs me even tighter. I can feel her tears flowing along my shoulders.

I repeatedly tapped her back gently to calm her down, I, too was trying to stop my tears from flowing.

I never thought I'll ever see her again.

A little while later she let go of me and stared at my face. I also took that time to scan her body for any abnormalities.

I sighed in relief when I found none.

She was wearing a lavender-colored dress which as long as mine, it was supported by an embroidered strap on her right shoulder.

I stared at her and held her face on my hands.

"Why are you here, Fhyra? Did that creepy asshole also take you here?!" she asked simultaneously and suddenly turned her head towards Hailec who was now leisurely seated on the couch.

"Why are you doing this?!" Sassy shouted and was about to attack the smirking Hailec when I stopped her.

"Sassy look at me," I said while blocking her view of Hailec.

"What are you doing here?"

"I don't know! I was on the way to your house the day after your birthday, because your parents asked me to come that day instead. But I suddenly bumped into him outside your house and then I don't know what happened next. I just woke up in this house and that brute won't let me out!" after hearing her explanation, my gaze immediately fell on the punong baylan.

"Were you surprise, Princess?" he asked with a smirk.

'Relax' I heard Cool said in my mind.

I took a deep breath thrice just to calm my nerves down.

I am mad.

I am very mad.

"Why did you take her here?" I asked coldly.

"Because of the surprise."

"She's a mundane, Hailec! It's too risky for her, here!"

"Fhyra? What are you talking about?" Sassy asked, confused.

I faced her and tried to calm myself again.

"I'm sorry for dragging you in this mess, Sassy. Don't worry, I'll find a way for you to return." Her forehead was creased as she listens to me.

"I don't understand. What do you mean? Where are we exactly?" she asked, I can already feel her body starting to tremble.

"Sassy--" I was supposed to comfort my friend when suddenly the sound of slow claps resounded in the room.

Sassy and I both turned our heads towards the direction of the sound.

My eyes darkened when I saw Hailec clapping and wearing a mysterious smile.

He stood up and started to walk towards us.

Suddenly, Cool appeared in front of me.

"What are you doing?" Cool asked.

"This is not my surprise yet," Hailec said which caught my attention.

I asked Cool to step aside so that I can talk to the Punong Baylan properly.

"What do you mean?" I asked him, sounding so agitated.

"Her appearance here is not the surprise I prepared for you, Princess." His answer confused me.

If Sassy wasn't his surprise, what is it then?

"Then, what is?" I asked him but he just gave me another mysterious smile and without me noticing, he already walked passed me and took Sassy's hand from my hold.

"Sassy!" I called out panicking.

I almost burn his whole house when he suddenly turn Sassy around. Giving me the opportunity to see the familiar mark of the moving blue dragon surrounded with fire.

"This is my surprise, your Highness."

We were all seated in a seemingly conference room after that commotion in the Punong Baylan's living room.

The whole room is embraced with silence and the four of us are so full of tension.

I keep on staring back at Sassy's shoulder blades as if I can see her mark there.

'Cool.' I called out on my mind.

I saw him shifted on his position and glanced back at me with a questioning look.

'I wasn't inform that even a mundane can be my guardian too.'

'I wasn't too. If that makes you feel even better.' he replied.

"What was this all about? Fhyra?" Sassy's question broke the chains of silence that envelopes us.

'I think it would be better to tell her. She looks like she really doesn't know anything about this.' Cool suggested.

I took a deep breath and was about to explain to her when Hailec stood up from his seat and place his hands on the table.

A hologram-like image appeared or rather was projected above us.

Sassy was walking leisurely, she's holding the gift she had prepared for Fhyra's birthday. She was supposed to give it last night but her mom told her to allow the family to spend alone time together.

She was wearing a bright yellow tank top and white pants. Her short hair was slightly swaying as she walks.

She can almost see the familiar house ahead. A warm and bright smile immediately appeared on her face.

"I'm so excited to see her reaction when she opens this up!" she excitedly whispered to herself.

Hailec on the other hand, came to the Doneza residence to check on the Princess. He was told that last night was the night that her persona had fully developed.

He needed to bring her back to the Narte Fantasia. But her parents refuse to do that. Princess Blare and Prince Ice were so adamant to make their daughter stay in the mundane world.

He saw the familiar house from a distance, and also he saw a feminine figure in a bright yellow top.

The woman was no other than Sassy Cymric Crux, the princess' mundane friend.

Sassy heard some footsteps behind her so she turned around to see who it was.

Fhyra's place is located in a semi-secluded place. Only a few people knew about this. So she was wondering who it was.

"Oh! Are you really a creepy stalker?!" Sassy exclaimed when she saw Hailec.

Hailec's face remained stoic even though he feels irritated just hearing the high pitched voice of the woman. He just continued walking.

When Sassy saw this behavior, she immediately run ahead of him, trying to reach her best friend's house first to warn her about this creepy stalker of hers.

But as she ran ahead of him, a blue glow on her upper back just behind her shoulders catched Hailec's attention.

It was the same moving blue-emitting fire dragon surrounded by fire.

Hailec was halted on the ground. He stared at his wrist bearing the same mark.

She was a guardian too?
