C4 SAVIOR

The music was still loud and Melissa was on her third glass of drink while watching Leo play casino with other young men surrounded by ladies. She wasn't in the mood to be a cheerleader as such, she sat on the cushion sharing eye contact with Leo when she felt like it. She felt the vibration of her phone as she got a message from Mike on 'Dating pro'.

'I got you more drinks.'

The moment she looked up, there was a bartender in an apron who brought drinks to her.

"Here you go, ma'am. This is on the house." He said with a sly smile on his face.

"What house, I didn't order this drink," Melissa said even though she already received the message.

"I Know you didn't ma'am. Which is why I said it's on the house." He said dropping the drink on the stool and giving her a final smile before turning around.

She got another beep again, it was still Mike.

'Drink up, it's just lemon and warm water to make you feel better. You've had too much alcohol in your system for the night.'

Melissa was annoyed. Who was he to decide what she took in her system or not? And why was he still being Anonymous? She couldn't understand why.

'You have no right to decide what I drink and how much I drink it.' She replied as she stood up to leave.

Leo was still too busy with his Casino to notice she had left the cushion. She just needed to leave because she felt uneasy now that she knows she was being watched. By who? She couldn't tell. It's safer to be at home, this public place isn't safe anymore she thought.

She gave Leo a last glance before exiting the hall as she decided she would text him when she got back to the safety of her house.

She stood in front of the Casino as she decided to text Kara. She would have called but she doesn't know what phase Kara was in with her date right now.

She decided to walk down the alley, a little bit farther from the casino and its loud music. She checked the time and it was already 11:49 pm. She knew she'd get home at midnight because the roads were still active with vehicles as Vegas was always awake at night.

"Hey, bimbo!" She heard a hoarse voice from behind as she made a turn towards the next street. She wished she hadn't made that turn already because it was now dark along that lane. She wanted to turn back but she gave up the idea and decided to keep on moving as though she didn't hear the voice.

"Stop playing hard to get love, I'd still get you anyway ."The stranger said.

Melissa made a halt as she knew she shouldn't be going any farther because it was dark. She turned around immediately but the stranger had already dragged her close to his body and placed a gag over her mouth to stop her screams. She struggled and tried to elbow him but he seem to have calculated all her moves as he dodge every attempt of hers to hit his stomach with her elbow.

"Now you're all mine and I shall do unto you as It pleases me. But for now, let's go home." He said dragging Melissa and half lifting her despite her struggles.

"Let go of the lady." Came a stern voice from behind. Before Melissa's captive could say a word, a heavy punch has already landed on his face. He turned around to return the punch only to kneel to his feet apologizing to Melissa's savior.

"I don't know it's you, sir, forgive me. I would not try this around you or your property, please." He said clapping his hands together in a desperate plea.

"You seem to be a rebellious man. Do not try this on anyone ever again. If I find out, I'd send you to hell." He said with so much threat in his voice making the other man scamper to his feet and run away.

Melissa was already drowsy by then since she had used up most of her energy trying to struggle with the stranger, although she was rescued by another stranger. Even though the former was her captor while the latter was her savior.

Her eyes were drifting shut when her savior bent over to where she was squatting in the shadows. She could only see his figure in a tight, black body hug shirt. He had a great figure. His eyes were twinkling in the dark and his teeth were like fine pearls. He had a solid jaw and lips that only knew how to talk smart and give great kisses. There was a chain on his neck and the pendant was engraved with the initials 'M’.

"Are you okay?" He asked squatting close to Melissa. He smelled of aftershave and his breath smelled like mint. Melissa tried to speak but no words came out of her mouth. Her throat was dry and she felt weak.

Instantly, the stranger lifted her bridal style as her eyes finally shut to embrace the unknown.

The smell of waffles. Melissa sniffed and sniffed again with her eyes still closed. How possible was it that Kara was making waffles for breakfast? She knew for certain that it wasn't possible and that was when she began to recall the events from the previous night. Melissa opened her eyes instinctively as she sprang to a sitting position on the bed. She looked down at her clothes and sighed relief as she was still fully clothed.

She took in her surroundings from the King's bed she lay on to the beautiful curtains and interior of the large bedroom to the masterpiece rug that lay in the center of the room. She imagined herself as a princess in a fairytale, only that this wasn't a fairytale and she lacked a total idea of where she was.

Setting her leg off the bed, there was already a fluffy flip flop waiting for her feet to get into them, it was so warm with a 'mama bear' feel. She stood up and decided to spy around the house since she couldn't hear any sound. She started with the bathroom that was in the room. As she opened the door, she was welcomed with the smell of lavender. How could a bathroom smell so good? she thought. She took a peek in and she was impressed by what she saw.

At one end of the bathroom was a jacuzzi, at another side of the bathroom was a full-length mirror that extended to the other end of the wall. Arranged in the cabinet were different types of hair shampoos, body scrubs, and shower gels.

The W.C was at one corner with a foot mat beside it. The expanse of the bathroom was twice her bedroom. She let out a sigh as she finally shut the door. She looked at the bedroom again and it couldn't even be compared with the matchbox she lived in as a bedroom. Life itself is not balanced, she thought.

‘Beep beep’ came the message tone from her phone. She wondered if Kara had finally responded to the message she sent to her last night. She dived onto the bed and grabbed her phone. When she realized it was an e-mail, she froze when she saw the sender. The mail was from BOLD. How would she go about this now, Kara usually opened her emails for her. Especially when they’re from organizations where she has applied for a job opening.

She hate rejections and she wasn’t ready for that this morning. She knew she had to get someone to open the mail for her. This reminded her of her savior and why she was here in the first instance. With that, she got off the bed and walked toward the door. Before turning the handle, she said a short prayer since she didn’t know what or who was waiting for her at the other end.

She got out of the room and shut the door behind her. Good thing she was still in her red gown and leggings from last night, except for her heels that were in the room so she could tiptoe her way around the house quietly. She was getting down the staircase from the room with so much care and caution when she heard a voice from the speakers.

“Good morning Miss Anderson. I’m glad to see you’re awake. Your breakfast is ready, while you eat, a bubble bath would be prepared just the way you like it”.

Melissa couldn’t be more frightened, she least expected this even though she prepared herself for the unexpected. She turned around realizing she was being watched by cameras and not eyes.

Almost immediately, she spotted a camera at one end of the wall. It has a detector and she could tell that wherever her movement was detected, that was where the camera’s view would be.

Damn! She hated sophisticated houses, and this was no exception.

“Ehh erm” Comes the clearing of a throat from downstairs. Melissa looked down and a lady was there, standing beside the dining table with a smile on her face. She seems to understand how Melissa felt. Awkward was the feeling.
