C13 Chapter 13

He had his “moonlight”—and he still insisted on dragging out this relationship, making all three of them miserable.

Qiu Anan looked at the man in front of her with icy detachment. A smile touched her lips but never reached her eyes. “Lu Yubai—what is it? You can’t let her go, and you can’t let me go either?”

“Qiu Anan, don’t think I won’t lay a hand on you!” The moment Jingya was mentioned, Lu Yubai lost control. His face darkened as he stared down at the woman beneath him, his gaze turning dangerously deep.

“Lu Yubai, as long as we’re not divorced, I’m still your wife. And as for Qiu Jingya—everyone else sees her as the other woman. Whatever I do to the other woman, no one gets to lecture me about morals.”

Qiu Anan shoved him away, anger surging through her. Who was he to accuse her? Who was he to glare at her like she’d committed some crime?

“Do you have any compassion at all? Why do you have to go after her?”

“Am I going after her, or is she coming after me?” Qiu Anan’s voice sharpened. “Lu Yubai, let me make this clear—I can’t stand Qiu Jingya. From now on, every time I see her, I’ll push her buttons. Doesn’t she have a bad heart? Then I guess we’ll find out just how fragile she really is.”

What Qiu Anan hated most was Jingya’s two-faced act. If they were determined to paint her as the villain, fine—she’d make it real. She wanted to see what else Jingya thought she could pull.

“You—!” Lu Yubai flared, furious. To him, Qiu Anan was beyond saving. He clamped a hand around her slender throat, his expression turning colder by the second—

“Qiu Anan, if anything happens to Jingya, I won’t let you get away with it!”

“Lu Yubai, then divorce me.”

Qiu Anan met his eyes without a trace of fear. The air between them was razor-tight. After a long moment, he yanked his hand back, something complicated flickering in his dark gaze—then, in the next second, he stormed out the door.

“Whew...”

Qiu Anan instinctively pressed a hand to her lower belly. During the argument, she’d already started feeling a dull discomfort there. The unfamiliar sensation made her uneasy, and a ridiculous thought suddenly flashed through her mind.

“...”

Qiu Anan stared at the pregnancy test in her hand. Two red lines stood out, unmistakably clear.

For a moment, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Of all times—right when she was getting ready to divorce Yubai—this baby had quietly arrived, like some cruel joke from above. She’d thought she could walk away and never have anything to do with him again, but now this child had become a tie between them that couldn’t be cut.

Qiu Anan clenched her teeth and quickly hid the “evidence.” She’d already made up her mind: she would keep this completely under wraps. No one in the Luh family could find out. Not a single person.

“Baby... do you think Mommy should keep you...?”

She let out a slow breath, her heart suddenly restless with nerves.

At the hospital, nearly all the young nurses envied the woman in Room 888. She was beautiful, and her fiancé was attentive—doing everything himself. It was enough to break the hearts of every single, still-single girl watching from the sidelines.

“Stop staring. That’s the CEO of Luh’s. He’s not someone you get to daydream about,” the head nurse snapped coldly, one sentence popping their rosy fantasies like a balloon.

“Ugh... Head Nurse, do you have to be so brutal...?”

In an instant, the hallway filled with dramatic groans.

Inside the room, Jingya’s condition had improved, but her face was still pale. She looked at the man by her bed, a flicker of something dark passing through her eyes. “Yubai... I don’t blame Miss Qiu for this. She’s a woman too...”

“Don’t talk. You need to rest,” Luh Yubai said flatly. The icy sharpness in his gaze only softened when it landed on the woman in front of him.
