Isabella's POV

A few weeks later…

It has only been a couple of weeks since I started my job here at Club Paradise. I haven't danced yet because He refused to put me on stage.

In his own words... I wasn't ready to be dancing in front of people yet.

And because of that, I wasn't paid as much as the other girls at the club.

So I practiced every day just to be as good as the other girls here.

And I can tell you for a fact that it hasn't been a walk in the park.

Dancing with heels on was a true pain in the ass and mastering my stability on the pole was kind of the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.

It wasn't my dream job working here at club paradise, but I was willing and able to make it work here because I knew I couldn't go back home, I couldn't face my demons back there.

So my busted ankles and sore feet were enough to prove that I just couldn't relent.

Mia, of course, has been of great help to me. She has been there for me all the way, teaching me all I needed to know about how to become an incredible dancer.

And with time I knew I was going to get the hang of it all in no time.

But Aiden, on the other hand, had been nothing but distant, ever since I had decided to take up this job at club paradise. I hardly see him nowadays, and when I finally get to see him, he often just throws a few words in my direction and that was it, he was gone again.

I didn't know what to make of his sudden change in behavior and hated the fact that he had to keep away from me just because I got a job at Club paradise.

I still don't know what we are yet, but what I know for a fact is that Aiden and I were close friends. He is one of the only people I know here in this city and his distance from me was kind of killing me to my bones.

I got home quite late from the club, feeling extremely tired.

So as soon as I got into the apartment, my bed was the only thing calling out to me right now.

Walking straight into my room, I collapsed onto the bed immediately and as soon as my head hit my pillow, my eyes immediately closed shut as I drifted into a deep sleep.

I don't know how long I slept. But, I soon drifted back to the light when I felt the ray of sunshine hitting me so hard through the window.

Blinking profusely, I tried to find my composure in the light, as I also tried blinking out the sleep from my eyes.

Fully awake... I hurriedly got up to my feet, in an attempt to start up with my day, but without warning, pain in my ankle shut up my leg very intensely and, in an instant, I fell to the floor screaming at the top of my lungs.

Fuck..." I screamed as I tried to control the pain, but it was not working, the pain was just too much for me to bear.

Groaning... I closed my eyes as I was still battling with the pain, but then I felt a strong hand hold me so firmly.

“I got you... don't worry," I heard Aiden's voice say as he soon lifted me bridal style into his arms.

And soon he placed me onto the bed gently.

“It's going to be alright," Aiden whispered with a smile on his face as he gently massaged the leg.

“It's just sprained," he whispered.

I will get you a pack of ice and some bandages and in no time it will be better," Aiden said as he walked out of my room.

He soon walked back in with a pack of ice and a bandage just like he had said and in no time he iced it, and tied up my ankle with a bandage and, just like he had said, the pain reduced drastically and it wasn't that bad anymore.

“You have to rest, Isabella, just for a few days, okay, and the ankle would be best in no time," he smiled and said.

I nodded my head softly as I watched him about to walk out of the room.

Aiden..." I called out to him and he turned in an instant, looking directly at me.

“Thank you," I smiled and said

I'm happy to help. I heard your screams on my way out, so I had to see if you were okay.

Trust me, it wasn't a problem," Aiden smiled as he was about to leave the room again.

Aiden Why..." I asked out of the blue.

Aiden looked at me with so much confusion in his eyes as he moved a little bit closer to me.

“Why what," he asked?

Why the distance, Aiden? You barely talk to me these days? This is like the longest conversation we have had in weeks," I let out nervously as I looked at him waiting for his answer,

Aiden was silent for a while, as if he was having an internal battle within him.

“Aiden..." I called out to him again as his silence was currently making me sick.

Soon Aiden sat on the chair beside me as he took my hands in his

“I'm sorry Isabella, I'm sorry for making you feel the way you do, it wasn't my intention, okay," he whispered.

“I just couldn't stand the fact that you decided to work at club paradise

You are so pure and innocent, and that place is definitely not for you.

But with the look in your eyes, I know now that I was just being selfish, and I don't have the right to dictate how you should live your life.

I'm your friend and it is my duty to support you.

Please forgive me, okay," Aiden whispered as he kissed the back of my hand.

Hearing those words from him, I couldn't help but smile, as my heart fluttered intensely because of his words.

“I have forgiven you already, I just really missed my best friend," I smirked and he laughed, pulling me into a tight hug.

Okay, you know what I think I have to make you my world-famous breakfast as part of my apology," Aiden smirked.

Wait, I thought you were on your way out," I said, looking at him with a questioning gaze.

That can wait... So you just have to lay back and relax because an amazing breakfast awaits," he smiled.

Ugh... you have no idea how much I have missed your cooking," I smirked.
