C19 I'm Proud Of You

Sheila's POV

I walked towards my friend's house in a depressed mood but as soon as she saw me, her face brighten so much so that my spirit lifted a little. At least someone was happy that I'm alive. She ran towards me and gave me a huge hug with a ear piercing laugh, my ‘God when do I get to laugh like that?’ I thought.

When she was done hugging me, she released me from her embrace, when she saw my face, she looked at me with worry laced in her eyes.

“Oh dear, poor you, what did you do this time?” said Lizzy.

“Do I look like someone who would do something wrong?” I said.

“Well now that you ask let me look well. ” she held my face turned it to both sides looking serious like a detective on a case. Then she said,

“I think you are a criminal with offence. ” she said with a crude face.

“Hahaha, Oh God, Lizzy you make me laugh did you really see offense on my face? ” I laughed.

She looked at me with adoration on her face and said.

“Look at that smile and laugh people will kill to hear you laugh and see you smile this way, trust me I will kill for that. ” she said.

“Oh shut up,” I said playfully.

“You don't intend to stand out here throughout your visit right? because I will leave you here to attend to other things. ” she said.

“Hell no” I said

“That's right my parents are inside let's go greet them. ” I said.

“Weren't you doing something out here when you saw me? let's finish first, I don't want them getting angry on you. ” I said.

“What? they are my parents what can they possibly do to me? I chose to do house chores anyway. ” said Lizzy.

when she saw my reaction, she kept quiet.

“Not everyone has such parents as you do. ” I said

“I know right they are so irritating, they make me work too much. ” said Lizzy.

When she saw the smirk on my face, she laughed ,

“I bet you, you will be given something to do before you leave here. ” said Lizzy.

I slapped her arm and told her to stop blabbering nonsense. A moment later, we entered their hall which looked as big as my bedroom upstairs in my house.

They looked at me with curiosity, I greeted them.

“Good afternoon Pa”

“Good afternoon Ma”

“Good afternoon dear how are you doing?” said Pa.

“I am doing good thank you. ” I said.

“Pa, Ma, this is my friend Sarah, we are in the same class. ” said Lizzy.

“Sheila my dear hope you are fine? what happened to your face? ” asked Ma.

I was stuck there and Lizzy helped me out.

“She tripped in her room and her face hit the bedside wood. ” said Lizzy

“Wosh that would hurt a lot dear sorry about that, this is your first time visiting but I won't allow you sit. Help your friend in the kitchen, where are your phones give them out so you can finish on time. We are hungry here and I know you are too. ” said Ma.

This woman is no far better than her daughter so much talk. She had no trace of pity on her face but worry.

“Leave her alone May, Sheila come sit with me let's watch TV together. ” said Pa.

“No way mister they are ladies so they should be in the kitchen. ” said Ma.

“No you should rather be in the kitchen, not your daughter. ” said Pa.

They argued about who should be in the kitchen and who shouldn't, Lizzy tapped on my shoulder and signed me to leave with her silently and they didn't even see us leaving.

“Don't mind them that's so much like my parents, God they talk too much. ” said Lizzy.

“Really they are just like that?” I asked.

She nodded, I was excited so I imagined mg parents in that situation and it didn't fit. So I frowned. She tapped my head and asked,

“Hey where your head at?”

“I'm day dreaming okay? your parents they are wonderful. ” I said still in that mood.

“With all that argument? argh!!! ” she said sarcastically.

“I am dropping out of school. ”

I said hurriedly afraid of what she would do or say, I cringed my head, but she surprised me with another hug.

“Is that the reason for your face?” she asked.

I nodded.
