C4 Chapter Four

Mc woke up with a heavy head and a completely weak body. He had been drinking alot and trying to forget about the heartbreaking incident of Melissa and Jeremy. It wasn't hard to believe that Melissa cheated on him but it still wasn't a good experience. "This girl loves money, she can't stay with you at your lowest!" the voice of Michael played in his head again, his best friend warned him about marrying Melissa but he didn't listen and now he ended up as a husband who never enjoyed the love of his wife but rather got the worst treatment and unfaithfulness.

He struggled to find his way to the bathroom with his blurry vision and dizziness but before he could reach there, his phone started ringing and he struggled back to get it.

"Yeah?" he uttered with his phone firmly placed on his right ear before the strange voice came over the phone "Am I speaking to Mc Ethan?"

"Ye... Yeah." He managed to say after contemplating for a while.

"Oh thank God, my search is finally over!" The person seemed excited and happy to speak to him but Mc still didn't feel free.

"You mind telling me who you are?" he asked after a quick stagger.

"My name is Arjun Khan, I'm Indian but I have lived here in the US since I was a kid and I've been working for your father for over 10 years!"

"My father? I'm sorry you must be mistaken, my father died when I was a kid!"

"That's the story you were told, your father is still alive and he's been looking for you relentlessly."

"Are you playing games with me?"

"No no!" Khan quickly said with his Indian accent, "Meet me my friend, let's meet so I can tell you everything. Your life is about to change my friend, you're about to be CEO, I've looked for you forever!"

Melissa sat on the edge of her mother's bed as they had a healthy mother-daughter conversation. The room was lit with a pink bulb and the atmosphere was very friendly. Deep down in their hearts, they felt the freedom of expressing themselves with no judgement and that's exactly what had been going on in that room for the past 35 minutes.

"I understand you sweetheart, they say you never forget your first kiss and the person you gave up your virginity to. Sitting here with you, I still remember the night I gave it up." Paula said to her daughter in the friendliest and calmest way possible, and it brought forth a smile on her young face.

"Thanks for understanding mom."

"I can never advise you to keep a man aside from your husband, we all ain't perfect and I might be a demon but I wouldn't want you to be a demon too." Her eyes became weak and her voice cracked a little. Paula looked like she had something she wanted to say so bad but wasn't so sure the space was safe enough to say it to her daughter.

"Hey mum, what do you mean by being a demon?" She moved closer to Paula, sat side to side with her and took her right hand. "Mum, is there something you want to tell me?" Her curious face wandered around to make sure her dad wasn't anywhere close by because she knew a secret was about to be told, she always knew when her mother wanted to say something sensitive.

"My sweetheart, I regret that you're no different from me, a saying goes that an apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I raised you and if you've grown to be a woman cheating on her husband, you might have gotten that character from me."

This was getting deeper, a bit more complicated and Melissa's desire to understand her mother completely took over her composure, she was shivering.

"Make me understand you mum!"

"Honey, I've been married to your father for many years but I haven't been entirely truthful with him." Paula wasn't so sure if it was a good idea to keep going with this.

"Mum, what's going on?"

"There's no better way to say it my dear, I've been cheating on your dad with a younger man, a coworker of yours."

"A coworker of mine? Who's that?"

"He goes by the name, Jeremy!"

"Oh my God!" Mellisa's jaw dropped completely, "Jesus!" she exclaimed again and looked to be having difficulty breathing because of how hard her heart beat.

"Mum, you... You and I..." The words couldn't come out.

"Me and you what? Talk to me sweetie."

"You and I have been cheating on our husbands with the same guy!"

"Are you kidding me? You had an affair with Jeremy?"

"It's him, it's been him all this while and now... And now he's..."

"Now he's what?"

"Now he's given me chlamydia!"

It wasn't controllable anymore, Paula covered her face in shame with her palms as she wept bitterly with guilt and regret. "I've got Chlamydia too," the mother said before finally burying her face in the neck of her Shirt to cry more freely. "I can't believe we did this, now everyone of us is got the STI."

"Everyone of us?"

"I must have given it to your dad too!"

The tension in the room was unbearable and at that point, they could only hope that Gabriel wasn't eavesdropping because last time they checked, he was busy watching a football match. They didn't have to say a word, deep down they already knew this was a secret between them, they weren't going to let anyone know that they were both being used by the same guy.

"Yeah I'm on my way now, it wouldn't be long, trust me my luggage is already set, all I gotta do is put it in the back of my car and take off." Jeremy spoke to someone on the phone as he hurriedly walked out the front door of his house, he was rushing to leave the city to a place he knew alone.

"They know it! Both mum and daughter know that I'm banging both of them and they know I gave them Chlamydia." He rushed to open his car door and tried to fasten his seat belt with one hand while still on the call. "I swear to God man I didn't know I had an STI, I just met some girl at the bar, we exchanged numbers and we met again then things went down. Days after I've banged Melissa and her mother, Boom! This girl from the bar sends me a message saying she's infected!"

He turned his keys and the car's engine started," I don't know how things are gonna play out so I'm leaving this shitty place right now! I'll call you when I reach my destination."

Just after Jeremy ended the call, he got an SMS from a strange number and his lips parted in shock as he read the message very quickly, it read:" You find joy in breaking me despite my love for you, you used me Jeremy. I gave you my soul and my body and all you did was play games with me. I WILL KILL YOU!"
