After listening to Shen Di's explanation, her parents seemed to understand only partially. They knew how hard it was for their daughter to find a job, so they didn't insist on her staying. They hadn't prepared much since Shen Di hadn't informed them of her visit beforehand. Now, they needed time to gather things and make dinner.
