C3 The untold goodbye

He from that day waited for her in the same park but she never returned. As each day passed he was loosing hopes too.He even asked his mother but she also couldn't contact her friend anymore.When turned eighteen he was sent abroad for five years for further studies. Fifteen years passed but he didn't forget her. He came back today. After some greetings the first thing he asked was about Stella. Hearing him his parents looked down with guilt and sadness knowing that they had promised him to find her when he returns as he was not ready for going abroad. It's not like they didn't try. They had privately investigated and found some news but it was not a happy one. He frowned at them and then looked to his father and yelled

Allan- What happened? You had promised me that if I go abroad you will make me meet her. Don't tell me you lied.

Mrs Jones - Son calm down. We did try and got some information also. Your father didn't forget your promise.

Mr Jones- Son it's not easy to listen so prepare yourself.

Allan- What do you mean ?

He was confused .Mr Jones sighed.

Mr Jones - First get fresh and come for dinner. I will tell you everything.

Allan was impatient but followed his father's words without saying anything.

At the dinner time

Mr Jones- As your mom had said I searched for Karell Rafhe but didn't get any information about her married life. The things which your mother had told was her life before her marriage. But I found her address one day and went there. An old lady appeared and gave me a letter which was for your mother and we later came to know she had died few days back.

Allan was shocked beyond words and looked at her mother who had tears in her eyes.

Allan- Where is the letter?

Mrs Jones- It's with me. I will give it to you after dinner. Rest of story you can hear after dinner.

He nodded. There was silence during meal.

After dinner they went to the living room and Mrs Jones handed a white envelope to Allan and sat there on one side. Allan took it an opened which had beautiful writing but with tear drop stains on it. Reading it with mixed emotions he unknowingly got watery eyes.

Dear bestie,

Hi! I know by the time you read this letter I would be already gone. Ya don't you dare cry ok. Even if I am gone I will always be by your side and sorry for hiding everything from you. I didn't want to worry and trouble you with my problems. Actually you know you were the only comfort in my life which inspired me not to give up on myself and my baby.

My husband has been cheating on me for two years but for the sake of Stella I pretended that I didn't know but he started abusing me .I wanted to leave him but he refused to give me divorce & threatened to take away Stella. I was afraid not for myself but for my child. You know motherly love. But now I am dying as I got diagnosed with heart block which is too late to be treated.

I have a favor from you. Please don't deny. I am scared to leave my child in this scary world all alone .I am not telling you to adopt her or marry her to your son as I don't want to spoil his love life. But please if possible could you just check on her once or twice in a year if she is doing fine. I am afraid that she would also be abused. I will not burden you with any request but if you can manage to take out some time also for her and give her a motherly love I would be thankful to you and definitely repay you in next life.

Reading this a tear drop came to his eyes. He looked up

Mr Jones- After investigating Rafhe family for a long time we found that Mr Rafhe married a new woman two days after his wife's death and abandoned his own daughter.

Mrs Jones- That woman is a slut from a bar and had a daughter with an unknown man.

Mr Jones - Honey calm down

Mrs Jones- How can I? He actually chose a whore's daughter over his own.

Allan- What! Dad then where is Stella?

Mr Jones sighed as Allan was bewildered. Mr Jones forwarded a paper which had the address.

Mr Jones- This is the place where she is staying. It's a hospice care unit.

Allan had another shock .His heart was pounding with his mind having many negative thoughts. He hesitantly spoke

Allan - Why is she there?

Mrs Jones- We also don't know. We were never allowed to meet her.

Allan - Mr Rafhe I will take the revenge from you.You will face worse for what you did to my love.Dad I want to join the company tomorrow itself.

Mr Jones was surprised but he knew that something big is going to happen by looking at his son's dark eyes so he just supported his son.
