C1 Flying Surfboard

Anaxtra's slender body ran quickly among the trees in the Dieng valley forest. Occasionally he made a leap up a large tree, swung from one tree to another, then again swooped over small rocks along the riverbank.

Sometimes he also ran over the river, his range of jumps capable of reaching 10 meters made it seem as if he was flying. The automatic arrowhead that is always attached to his left arm is always ready to shoot the laser arrow if he needs it.

Anaxtra jumped onto a large rock in the middle of the river. While in front of him a giant stone wall that pours out clear water creates a very beautiful waterfall.

"Where does this flowing water come from?" said Anaxtra inwardly.

This waterfall is the main source of water from the Dieng Valley, passing through a river that crosses the forest with one side is a high rock that becomes the parapet of the Dieng valley.

The end of the river is just a small lake covered also by high stone walls, while this waterfall, the only place in the Dieng Valley that has the possibility of a way to see the outside world.

"Are you going to try jumping up there?" said someone from the riverbank.

Anaxtra turned his head towards the coming sound, his name was Peter, he actually ran with Anaxtra, but his speed that was below Anaxtra's ability left him slightly behind.

"I'll definitely try it, but not for today," Anaxtra said as she jumped next to Peter, who was nearly 8 feet from where he stood.

"What about the height of this waterfall?" asked Anaxtra as he sat on a rock not far from it.

"Maybe about 50 meters, or it could be more." replied Peter.

"If my jumping camp has reached 30 meters, I only need 2 jumps. But I need a foothold from the first jump."

Peter sat down next to Anaxtra, "can't your father's surfboard fly any higher?"

Anaxtra sighed, "In principle, the surfboard made by dad uses particles planted in the board, the skateboard works based on earth graffiti, the ability to fly is only limited to 10 meters without weight, if ridden by one person, the ability will be affected in a height of 7 meters."

"Isn't your father developing that surfboard?"

Anaxtra shrugged his shoulders, "But there hasn't been any progress until now."

"Actually, the surfboard is a relic of my grandfather, in grandfather's note, he once planned to modify by adding sensors that function distance control of an object, in addition to preventing collisions, the sensor serves to make any object as a foothold."

"So, it will not only rely on earth graffiti, in other words, even though it climbs a high wall, as long as it can hold balance, surfboards will still fly based on the distance on that wall, no longer based on earth graffiti."

"I don't know," Anaxtra said, standing up. Then before he ran fast, he said again.

"It's dark soon, let's go home!" just as Anaxtra ended her sentence, her body had already jumped far ahead, then immediately disappeared behind the trees.

"Hi... Wait for me!" said Peter as he followed towards Anaxtra's leaving.

Dieng Mountains is the coldest region with the lowest temperature reaching 9°C. Thick fog often falls even before the sun sinks.

Anaxtra walked into his house and got his father sitting while watching the Surfboard on the desk in front of him.

"Did you manage to add sensors to the surfboard?" asked Anaxtra as she sat next to her father.

Basically, Avalon, Anaxtra's father was a quiet man, but from his attitude that did not say much, it made him an authoritative and respected figure of the residents of the Dieng Valley.

No wonder the people of Dieng Valley who only number less than 50 people appointed him as chairman. Avalon's wife, Anaxtra's mother, has been dead since Anaxtra was born.

Avalon simply nodded his head, "but I haven't tested it yet, maybe tomorrow you can give it a try."

Anaxtra looked at her father excitedly, "really?"

"Then if it works, will you make more of it as a means of transportation here?"

Avalon sighed, "Actually I'm worried, if this tool is successful and used as a means of transportation, they will go too far."

"Are you worried that they would leave this place?"

Avalon shook his head, "that's not what I'm worried about, however, this valley has been inhabited for hundreds of years by our ancestors, no matter how far they go, only this place is the safest for them to live in."

"I'm just worried, life outside this valley is fiercer than this place, once they get out, there's no chance of returning."

Anaxtra could understand her father's worries.

"Father don't need to worry, with my ability, I can definitely protect myself and the people of this valley."

Anaxtra then stood up, "I'm going to my room to sleep, tomorrow morning I have to try the surfboard, you better also take a break because I've been working all day repairing the surfboard.

Avalon simply nodded without expression, "I believe you'll do what's best for the people of this valley, you go first, I'll catch up soon."

Sunlight warmed the Dieng Valley, the fresh air seemed to be a breath for life in it. Anaxtra swerved his body on a plank down the river, occasionally maneuvering and flying higher over the forests of the Dieng Valley.

As far as he was through the valley, it always led to a towering stone wall, as if there was no way out to be able to leave the Dieng Valley.

Anaxtra swooped towards the banks of the river not far from the waterfall, then landed perfectly on the rocks.

While not far from where Anaxtra landed, stood his father, Peter and Lilia, Peter's sister who participated in the surfboard trial conducted by Anaxtra.

"The sensor works perfectly, Dad!" said Anaxtra later.

"If previously this surfboard only floated above the earth's surface, after the addition of sensors, this surfboard could detect any object and hover over it, I tried it on trees almost 20 meters high, and this surfboard was able to adjust and fly higher above the tree."

Avalon smiled with satisfaction.

"Well, Uncle made it!" said Lilia who said excitedly.

"Lilia, why are you here?" asked Anaxtra to Lilia.

"I saw Peter go, he said he wanted to see you try the surfboard, so I followed him."

Echoing Lilia's words, Peter simply shrugged, "Uncle, can you do it for me?"

"I want to too, Uncle!" inters Lilia did not want to lose.

Avalon smiled again, "I already think of you as my own children, before I make more to be used as a means of transportation for people, I make sure you will accept it first."

Peter and Lilia said simultaneously, "Thank you, Uncle!"

"Anaxtra! You haven't tried with the sloping terrain, try to fly up that wall," Avalon said later.

Anaxtra stared at the stone wall in front of him doubtfully.

"You just have to try it, pay attention to your balance, if you're still wobbly, there's no need to force it to continue."
