C18 Interrogation(2)

Wait a minute... What was Moorer's background?

The question flashed through Ashes's mind, but now was not the time to dwell on it. She needed to conduct the interrogation immediately.

"I... I work for Dimensional Technology Company as a two-star investigator... My job involves searching the city ruins for survivors and supplies, and reporting back to headquarters," Bella explained.

"Why have you been following us? How long have you been tracking us?" Ashes inquired.

"I've been following you because it's part of my job. I started tracking you the moment you entered the city," Bella replied.

Ashes frowned, realizing she had been careless. "Next question, where is your organization's headquarters? How many people are there, and what's their strength?"

"Our headquarters... it's in the administrative center of Bear City! There are roughly 6,000 people. As for their strength, I'm not entirely sure, but I believe there are two full regiments," Bella said.

Truth be told, Bella was unaware of the actual location of the DS organization's headquarters. She mentioned a place that seemed credible.

"What is the purpose of your organization?" Ashes pressed on.

"I'm not entirely clear on the details. It's something about... establishing a utopia in their own way, so that all the survivors worldwide can come to this great, unified nation without any dissent..."

"Alright, Miss Bella! Your honesty has spared you. We've covered all the questions... Now, according to protocol, Comrade Moorer will release your shackles and set your conditions!" Ashes declared.

Moorer approached and stated, "There are conditions for releasing you. Pay attention...

Firstly, you are restricted to the camp's interior and cannot leave the city walls. We will take turns monitoring you, and if you attempt to escape, be prepared for severe consequences.

Secondly, you're allowed to interact with team members and engage in other activities, including playing with Meow, but only with its consent. Any misconduct towards any team member will result in the same punishment as the first condition.

Lastly, you're not required for our routine tasks, but in the event of a serious problem, you must assist. If that happens, you'll be at the mercy of those 'problems'. Do you understand?"

Bella promptly agreed to each request. Moorer gave a slight smile and bent down to untie the ropes.

"Don't even think about running away," Moorer cautioned as he bent over, "We've got a professional assassin in this village. There's no way you can outrun him."

Once freed from the ropes, Bella stood up slowly, supporting herself on the pickup truck, and stretched languidly.

"Ugh... I've been sitting for two days... My legs are numb..." she remarked with relief.

"And where's our little darling?" Bella's face lit up with a smile, and she immediately started searching the camp for the cat.

Watching Bella dash off, Moorer turned to his companions and instructed, "You two, keep a close eye on her. We can't fully trust her yet. If Bella manages to escape or harms anyone in our team, we'll be in deep trouble..."

Payson nodded in acknowledgment upon hearing this and took off to find Meow and Bella.

Ashes remained motionless, then abruptly grabbed Moorer, who was about to walk away, and asked in a hushed tone, "What exactly did you do before?"

The following is the information that can be disclosed:

1. Mutated Creatures

To be precise, the mutated cockroaches, spiders, and mice that have emerged should not be referred to as "mutated" but rather as "evolved." This evolution is a natural response to the harsh living conditions of the Meteorite Era.

There's also a theory that the unique elements from the meteorite combined with Earth's environmental pollution are to blame for these mutations. This theory lacks evidence, but it has many believers.

2. Daily Food of Surface Beings

The daily diet of Surface Beings is quite basic, mainly consisting of meat from various mutated rodents and a type of bread known as "brick."

Those in better circumstances might enjoy a variety of canned goods left over from the golden age. Those less fortunate may not even have access to rat meat and "bricks," resorting to eating barely palatable insects or maggot paste.

However, there are some "master chefs" who can turn these ingredients into surprisingly delicious dishes.

By contrast, the living conditions of the Underground City's inhabitants are practically paradise. Thanks to breakthroughs in genetic technology, the presence of "food factories" is quite normal, and people there seldom worry about what's for dinner.

3, Recycle Station and Biochemical Reactor

Mod enthusiasts will be pleased to know that elements from Red Alert will certainly not be in short supply.

The Recycle Station: This structure, originating from the Western Empire, is notorious for its disregard for human rights. It is capable of tearing apart, reorganizing, and recycling anything, including vehicles, tanks, assorted junk, living organisms, and even humans, into usable resources.

The building requires construction via an MCV, but there is a mobile deployment version, which is currently believed to be in use by the DS organization.

Biochemical Reactor: Also hailing from the Western Empire, this power generation facility operates on a "biological power generation" mechanism and is equipped with five additional "power generation chambers." These chambers can be filled with live organisms to boost power output, with no restrictions on the type of organism used.

When all five chambers are filled, the power output increases exponentially. In theory, three fully loaded biochemical reactors could supply uninterrupted electricity to a standard county for 48 hours.

The reactor can be built without an MCV, but this significantly reduces construction efficiency and results in a notably unstable product.

4, "Project Rebirth"

Project Rebirth was a highly classified special cloning initiative designed by the Antathira United Government for interstellar expeditions. In fact, the project was so secretive that fewer than 100 people out of the global population of 10 billion were aware of its existence.

The project's primary goal was to provide a safeguard for the lives of warriors exploring unfamiliar planets. Each explorer is a valuable strategic asset, and the cost of retraining one is so exorbitant that cloning expenses pale in comparison. Project Rebirth ensured that warriors could retain 100% of their memories and be resurrected in a safe zone after death.

It was believed that the entire project was taken by the space fortress and the remaining fleet during the "Space Traitor" incident, without leaving a trace. How the Dimensional Organization came to possess this technology remains a mystery.

5, Dimensional Organization's Military Ranks

The ranks within the Dimensional Organization are as follows, from highest to lowest:

Golden Skull

Skull

Five-Star Warrior

Four-Star Warrior

Three-Star Warrior

Two-Star Warrior

One-Star Warrior

Three-Stripe Soldier

Two-Stripe Soldier

Diamond Soldier

There are a total of 10 ranks.

Individuals who voluntarily join the Dimensional Organization become One-star Warriors upon completing their training. In contrast, those who are conscripted or captives from other gathering places only achieve the rank of Prismatic Soldier, or at most, a Double-Stripe Soldier, after their training.

Advancement through the military ranks is determined by the length of service and the soldier's valor in battle. The higher the rank, the greater the prestige and authority the soldier commands within the army.

From the rank of One-star Warrior, those serving the Dimensional Organization are granted the privilege of resurrection upon death. This power contributes significantly to the formidable strength of the organization's armed forces.

However, the harsh reality is that the organization only considers the worth of an individual for resurrection. If you die without value, there is no incentive for them to revive you, and your death goes unnoticed.
