The room was drowned with silence for a few seconds until Kate brighten up with an idea " Since we are in partnership with the Miller and they would be responsible for all our financial obligations, Maybe we should slide in the cost over to them without raising many eyebrow "

" If i do that , I guess i shouldn't be worried about getting arrested by the Miller's since they won't want their 'precious bride ' to be best friend stuck in a cell. Right..?"

" Just do it, I would have everything cleared up with Lucas if it comes to that….

Thinking about I'm sure you won't look bad in handcuffs " Kate didn't missed the opportunity in teasing Alessa. With that resolved Kate spoke further

" That my cue, i will heading out first and take tomorrow off, My Dad have literally been breathing on me to take a break and since everyone is so worked up maybe we could celebrate the new partnership with the Miller Family tomorrow at the new restaurant that just got opened… 'Of course without the Miller invited' "

" I guess that is the plan "

Alessa spoke in a grumpy tone before leaving the office as she wasn't sure why Kate had to highlight the latter part of her sentence with her tone.

With Alessa out of the room Kate didn't need to take a glance at her watch before knowing the time to leave, without wasting a second more she quickly got her stuff packed into her purse before leaving taking the elevator out of the building and halting a cab bearing in mind that she had to make a quick ice cream stop for her Dad since he still had time fully make up for her outburst.

Thankfully they wasn't much traffic on the road so she was able to arrive rather early something that had become rare in New York with the holiday season approach, Kate had hardly moved a couple of feet into the house when she got halted by her father words " You got a mail from Justin, look like that fiancee of your's is finally stepping his game "

It took a moment for Kate to process her father words since it totally caught her of guard since she was about to send him a letter, it took a few seconds for Kate to regain her composure before quickly scrambling for the parcel on the table and speaking.

" What happened with no checking my mails policy we talked about, I'm not a girl anymore. Maybe i really an apartment quick then "

" I don't see anyone at 25 still living with their father "

" No Ice Cream for you then! "

Kate quickly counter unable to find a reply despite knowing that her father was clearly trying to pull her leg before heading straight towards her bedroom.

The relationship between her and Justin was a little complicated as everything had been moving smoothly for the three years of dating until Justin took a job for an eight month expedition to the north poll without discussion it with her first, then things got really heated rather quickly with a lot of words being thrown around which snowball into a huge fight.

Opening the parcel Kate wasn't surpised that it contained a drive, she immediately had it hooked up to her laptop and had the the video recording played.

" Ehm.. Kate I always wanted to apologize for what happened back then, I have been doing some thinking for sometime now and I'm sorry about everything also I promise to make it up in a month time when I would back, then maybe we could finally get the lease of the penthouse you always wanted. I wanted to tell you of all the Life changing experiment we conducted but it's better I tell you in person.. I love you, bye.."

Kate was feeling a barrage of emotions that she couldn't describe, of course it was a bit emotional for Kate hearing those set of words after over five months and a possible chance that they will have their issues resolve but the video recording also gave her a reality check that she had less than a month to have the marriage arrangement with Warren broken off or else it would be a real disaster if Justin found out.

Kate literally blank out for the next couple of minute before getting into the bath tub to get her emotions in check before giving Alessa a call which immediately got connected with Alessa doing the speaking.

" I was just on the phone with Lily she had the reservation for tomorrow celebration all sorted out..wait… What is with the gloomy face "

Alessa spent the next thirty minutes listening to Kate expressing her feeling on all that just happened, even if most part was Kate still being mad at Justin.

"Whooss..… I guess maybe it is a good thing that there is no TV at the North pole, So what did you have in mind with Lucas since i don't need to remind you that your plan failed horribly last time."

Kate was not new to Alessa sense of humour so she didn't bother wasting her strength in chilling her.

" I was thinking on whether i should invite Lucas over to lunch maybe apologize for last time and tell him the that I have a fiancée, Maybe that would prompt him to have the marriage arrangement broken "

" Okay then, i would send him a little mail to scheledule your little date, at least do me a favour get his number it would save of lot hassle." Alessa didn't object to Kate suggestions this time since there wasn't much of an option to begin with.

Lucas was stuck in traffic tired from the days work while returning from his the office, The little problem with the airliner turned out to be massive one with the staff becoming disgruntled about the company boardmember and the Miller investment firm was about to be impeach from it placed on the board.

Of course with him stepping in he was able to steer the boat in the right direction but he was definitely not expecting being named the new CEO of the company and if he learnt anything today about being the CEO of an airliner for a day it's was that it was draining adding extra towards his over packed workload.

Natalie voice instantly pulled him out of his thought " I just received a notification from our financial department, Kate opt for the fine for the show and secretly passed over the cost of the fine to us. Should I let it slide or call in our lawyer"

Lucas wasn't surprised a bit since he didn't expect much from it in the first place since it was a little prank he played to make Kate make a fool of herself but that was still enough to turn his expression cold.

" You can tell the lawyer to serve her with the court paper about the issue we spoke earlier on." But Natalie wasn't done speaking yet.

" Kate is also requesting to meet you , it's said in the email it said she had something to talk to you about "

Lucas couldn't stop himself from laughing this time since it was clear that the little stunt pulled was already getting to her but it took couple of moment before Ryan was able to give a reply.

" Reschedule the meeting for tomorrow also get Kate ready for the dinner party and we see whether you get a bonus for the month "

The car finally came to a stop at the mansions with Lucas helping himself out of the car, heading straight towards the living room where he found his Grandfather seated with the family doctor ' Doctor Brian' which instantly gave him the chills .

Not forgetting his manner Lucas gave a slight bow acknowledging his father presence and a nod to Doctor Brian before seating at the opposite side of the room.

" Doctor Brian what is wrong?..."
