The day went rather busy for Kate which was unfortunately becoming a new norm for her as she had to sign off some funds for the purchase of a new office space that would serve as their new operating base.

Thankfully she didn't have to spend any more time on her desk as it wasn't long before Alessa came into the office holding a dress bag putting a stop to her paperwork, passing Kate the dress Alessa spoke.

" Natalie just dropped the dress off a moment ago but you have to leave now the event starts in three hours and you are nowhere ready yet …So will you better be quick."

Kate wasn't sure why but part of her secretly agreed with the first part of Alessa's sentence but she was in no mood to get into a squabble with Alessa, she quickly cleared her table putting her stuff back into her handbag before exchanging goodbye pleasantries with Alessa leaving the office.

Thankfully Kate was able to arrive back home within thirty minutes and with a good look around the house was enough to tell her that Dad was out of the house which avoided her endless teasing and a tons of question, without waiting a second more Kate walked into her room and getting into the shower as quick as possible for a bath.

The bumpy ride back home have given her another reason buy a car and maybe also make time to learn how drive to get her driving license also her and Justin had previously decided to sign an apartment lease together to move in after their marriage become official, Getting ready for the event was more time consuming than Kate thought as she ended up keeping Lucas waiting outside in the car for thirty minutes.

Although she occasionally gave the impression that she had the world on her palm when she was running the company, it didn't stop her from being human and becoming anxious about her looks since she was also going to be in the spotlight as the Miller family newest partner even though she didn't like the title plus there was no count to the number of billionaire attending the event.

Kate couldn't help herself from taking a long breather before getting into the car, also taking the initiative in speaking " Sorry about that, I guess it took more than expected for me to get prepared."

The journey back to the Miller Mansion was engulfed in silence with the only interruption being from Old Miller calling in to know their location, Kate was ready for a lot surprises since this would be a first time on a lot of things including going to the 'Miller Mansion' but she was totally unprepared for Old Miller opening the door immediately the car came to a stop at the mansion.

" Come see some of my friends before Lucas steals you over " Old Miller spoke while leading the way towards the Mansion garden, just as expected the Miller family Mansion didn't fail to meet her expectations.

The front yard was enough to host over a thousand people simultaneously, at this moment she could only think of names of castles the Mansion was built to imitate..

" Why not let toast to the Miller family for bring us together into their wonderful abode and maybe this year Lucas would seat with us for dinner instead of running away like usual "

Lucas gave Kate a slight nod before leaving since it was obvious Jake was trying too hard to get on his nerves, taking from the fact that he also just arrived to the party. Lucas walked towards Natalie at the horse shed which wasn't far from the garden where the party was taking place. In fact, they had a clear view of the party from the upper deck.

Lucas didn't bother to get in a long brawl with Natalie, taking the seat beside her overlooking the party while drinking the glass of orange juice that Natalie had prepared beforehand.

There was total silence between them for an hour before Natalie broke the silence " Look like your bride already had too much to drink and is already causing a scene, It is only a matter of time before the security team moves in on her . So if you want to be prince charming now would be a great time to do that . "

Although Lucas wasn't thrilled in helping out, he still had to save Kate some face since it was his party. Without waiting a second more he quickly stood up and headed downstairs towards Kate's location, although he still felt Kate wasn't worth his time.

Just as Natalie had said she had caused a scene at the table as there were a lot of broken plates and wine bottles on the floor, swinging into action Lucas quickly apologized to the rest of the guests before heading towards Kate who was a distance away laying on the ground surrounded by security personnel.

" Ahmm.. You guys can go now, I will handle it. Just make sure you keep this under the wrap and have everything cleaned up " Lucas never thought he would be doing this but once the guard had left he began doing the hard work of lifting Kate off the ground while she was jealous holding a bottle of wine.

Drunk Kate wasn't exactly friendly and Lucas got to learn the hard way as he suddenly found himself with a huge pain in the eyebrow from Kate throwing the wine bottle into his Face but that was his least of his worries now , instead of being mad Lucas quickly got Kate into a golf cart driving straight towards the mansion were the Mansion staff were waiting for his arrival.

" Give this bottle to Alessa I almost lost my life for it.. " Lucas made a pause in his sentence realizing Natalie was there and she didn't have her happy face on.
