C17 Discharge

When Bai Yin heard the knock on the door, she thought that Gu Zhangning had finished all the formalities and came to take her away. Just as she was about to get off the bed, she heard the door open and then Shen Luo's voice.

"Director Bai."

Bai Yin's actions came to a halt and she was a little surprised. "Secretary Shen, why are you here?"

Shen Luo came over and put the flowers on the cabinet beside the bed. He then looked at Bai Yin and said, "Director Sheng said Director Bai was in a car accident, so he couldn't come here. He told me to come over quickly."

Bai Yin lay back on the bed with a calm expression on her face. "It's nothing serious. It's almost ready."

Gu Zhangning followed behind Shen Luo into the ward. Without saying anything further, he found a place that wasn't too far away and sat down. He looked at the two of them coldly, then took the notebook and looked at them seriously.

Shen Luo's expression was serious as he said, "Director Bai, Director Sheng said that the work he arranged for you to be handed over to someone else, you should be able to recuperate in peace."

Bai Yin quickly refused, "No, I will finish those things on time. I'm injured in the body, not in the brain. It's no problem."

Sheng Jinnian probably already knew that Bai Yin would have this kind of reaction, so he taught Shen Luo a set of excuses, "Director Bai, work is never finished, the body belongs to you. Once you've recovered, Director Sheng will assign you with a more important mission, so don't be impatient. Your mission right now is to recuperate well."

Bai Yin still wanted to say something, but just as she moved, she felt a tearing pain on her ribs. She furrowed her brows for a moment before sighing. Looking at Shen Luo's posture, it seemed that she could no longer speak.

"Alright, I understand."

Shen Luo sat in the hospital room for a while and briefly explained what happened in the company. Bai Yin listened more seriously. If it wasn't for the hospital gown, she would be that capable business woman again at this moment.

While the two of them were talking, Gu Zhangning raised his head and looked at Bai Yin. She was sitting on the bed and although she was pale due to her injuries, she was full of energy. She listened to Shen Luo's report like chat.

This was Bai Yin at work.

Gu Zhangning retracted his gaze and looked down at the computer. For the rest of the time, he only made the occasional sound of him tapping on the keyboard. Nothing else happened.

It was truly rare for him to be so quiet at this moment.

In the end, the nurse came over and informed Bai Yin that the discharge procedures had been completed, and she could be discharged in the afternoon. Shen Luo then got up and took his leave.

After Shen Luo left, Gu Zhangning followed suit and stood up with his hands in his pockets, "Alright, let's go as well."

The hospital didn't have anything important, and they had no intention of bringing it back.

Gu Zhangning walked over to Bai Yin. Bai Yin quickly got down and covered her ribs with one hand while rummaging through her clothes with the other. "Wait a moment, I'll go change clothes."

Gu Zhangning stopped walking and did not really come up to help.

Bai Yin took her clothes and went to the bathroom. She slowly changed out of her hospital gown and folded it before coming out.

Gu Zhangning was still standing there. His gaze fell on her body, and he no longer had the attitude of propping her up.

"The car is already down there. Let's just leave."

"Alright."

Bai Yin put her clothes on the bed, carried her bag and followed Gu Zhangning out of the ward.

The attending physician, who was standing in the corridor, saw Bai Yin coming out and said her goodbyes in a deep voice, "Miss Bai, goodbye. I hope we won't see you again at the hospital."

Bai Yin nodded. "Goodbye. If possible, I don't want to come here anymore."
