C15 fifteen

I settled into my seat as I started to enjoy the delicious soup he cooked. I didn't know what got into him, choosing soup? It's so hot! But because it tasted so good, I ended up enjoying it.

"Do you want more?" he asked.

I just rolled my eyes at him and shook my head; I've already had two servings!

As soon as our conversation with Mom ended and she stopped me from working, I couldn't do anything. It's only been a month since I started, and I'm already resigning? It's embarrassing to Ms. Faith!

"Drink this," he said seriously.

He placed a glass of water beside my plate.

"Thanks," I expressed my gratitude.

He just nodded, watching me eat as he had finished earlier while I was working overtime.

I sighed. "Aren't you going home yet?" I asked irritably.

Even if I wanted to suggest he stay here since I'm alone, I didn't. I didn't want him to think he could easily get my yes.

He shook his head. "You're still alone. I'll leave later when one of your friends gets home," he calmly replied.

It's like my heart celebrated at what he said.

I just nodded, pretending not to care. We were quiet, only the slurping of my soup creating noise. Our attention was drawn to the sudden ringing of his phone on the side table.

It was an Unknown Number, so I raised an eyebrow when he didn't answer. I paused reaching for my glass when I noticed his sudden gulp.

"Why didn't you answer?" I asked calmly before taking a sip.

He immediately shook his head and quickly grabbed his phone, putting it back in his pocket.

"I don't know them," he replied seriously.

He avoided my gaze as if he also wanted to avoid our conversation.

"Why does someone have your number if you don't know them?" I asked curiously.

"I don't know," he replied curtly.

I remained quiet as I drank my water. His phone rang abruptly again.

"Answer it already," I instructed.

Why didn't he want to answer? It might be important!

He looked at me seriously before nodding.

"Excuse me," he said before standing up and turning away.

He sighed.

"Who the hell are you? Can you please stop bothering me? W-what? Alliah? Who? I don't care who you are, just stop bothering me," he irritably said.

Before he ended the call, he looked at his phone with a furrowed brow and then turned to me. Was that the girl from last night?

"Alliah, huh?" I muttered to myself.

He ran his fingers through his hair and slightly cleared his throat before returning to his seat.

"I don't know her," he said gently.

"Okay," I replied curtly.

"I don't know her," he repeated.

He didn't seem convinced by my answer, just like I didn't agree with his.

"Okay," I repeated.

I got up to take my dishes to the sink, but he quickly stopped me.

"I'll do it," he said.

He took my dishes and returned after washing them.

"Thanks," I said seriously.

"Selene... I really don't know Alliah," he insisted.

I turned to him, watching him wash my dishes.

"Okay, Elio," I said again. "You shouldn't have washed them, I could have done it," I rolled my eyes.

He returned the utensils and glass he had washed to their place.

"It's okay," he wiped his hands.

I turned and sat on the sofa. I turned on the TV because I felt like I might say something stupid again.

"Selene..." he softly called me.

"Hmm?" I turned to him.

He stood beside me, so I raised an eyebrow and gestured for him to sit on the single sofa across from me.

"I blocked her number," he explained.

"Why are you explaining? Flirt with her if you want," I said irritably.

Let them flirt as much as they want! He's not my boyfriend, but why am I acting like this?! Why do I feel like I'm his girlfriend?! Why do I feel jealous?!

I'm jealous!

"I just wanted to, Selene. I really don't know her," he said gently.

"Okay,"

He just looked at me as if catching my gaze, so I just rolled my eyes. He cleared his throat and looked away.

"Maybe she was the girl last night? The one who asked for your number? The sexy one who was holding onto your arm like a leech," I said irritably.

He seemed to realize what I said because he slightly froze and avoided my gaze as if I hit the target. So, Alliah is her name. Huh?

"So you gave her your number?" I asked.

I avoided his gaze and turned to the TV.

"No," he replied firmly.

I rolled my eyes. "Then what? Magic?"

"Sai gave it to her," he confessed, scratching his nape.

I chuckled. "Are you happy?"

"No,"

Not on your face!
