"Okay,"
He just nodded and turned his attention back to what he was watching. Sometimes, I could see him glancing at me in my peripheral vision, but I chose to ignore it.
I'm so bored of watching TV; it's all just nonsense.
"Aren't you going home yet? It's almost lunchtime. Angel will be back soon," I said.
"I'll stay here until she gets back," he replied seriously.
"Don't you have anywhere else to go?" I asked as I walked towards the kitchen.
"No," was his simple answer.
I took a sip of water and turned to him.
"Where did you get the ingredients earlier?" I asked curiously.
His brow furrowed. "From there," he pointed to a small cabinet.
"I see, so they're there,"
Well, Angel and Mawi probably put them there so they wouldn't get confused. It's where they usually keep the ingredients they'll cook with.
"Yes, this is your apartment, but you didn't know?" he said, raising an eyebrow.
I just shook my head.
I returned to the sofa while he excused himself to get a drink.
"Girl! I saw Josh, your ex. He had the nerve to approach me and ask where you're staying now! He said you still text sometimes but you never told me!" Angel blurted out as she sat beside me and put down her groceries. It seems she didn't notice that Cyrus was here.
"H-huh?" I asked, suddenly feeling nervous.
I glanced at Cyrus to make sure he heard.
His eyes met mine, and he looked serious. He even slightly moistened his lips with his tongue and put his hand in his pocket.
"C-Cyrus? Oh my God, sorry! I didn't know!" Angel hastily apologized.
"No, it's okay, I'm just courting, Yoreh," he said seriously.
Why was it "Selene" earlier and now just "Yoreh"? But why did it feel like a big deal to me?
He walked away seriously, while Angel suddenly stood up.
"I'll just put this away," she said, gesturing towards the groceries.
"Okay,"
I looked at Cyrus, who was walking seriously.
"A-are you leaving?" I suddenly stood up.
Is he leaving already? Just because Angel's here? Where will he go after this? To Alliah's place? Should I ask Angel to leave first? Oh, what the hell.
"Yes," he replied coldly.
He ran his fingers through his hair again and stopped in front of me.
"Josh, huh?" he said seriously.
I heard Angel gulp and shake her head.
I raised my palms and shook my head. "I didn't tell him,"
It's true Josh texted me, but I only replied once, and I even told him to stop.
"Okay," he said coldly. "I'm leaving," he said seriously.
Before he could walk away from me again, I grabbed his arm to stop him from leaving.
He raised his brows.
He sighed.
"Why?" he asked gently.
He glanced at my hand gripping his arm, and I didn't let go.
I pouted. "Where are you going? Are you really going home, or do you have somewhere else to go?"
We were so close to each other now because I still held onto his arm. I felt like my world would stop at any moment!
"How can I leave if you're like this?" he said coldly.
"Like what?" I asked irritably.
I opened each of Angel's groceries one by one.
"Are you mad at me?" he asked, pleadingly.
"What are you talking about? Leave if you want. It seems like you're just playing with me. Go, go to that sexy and beautiful woman over there. Don't you want to? You can call Alliah," I said without thinking.
I glared at him. He glanced at Angel, who was watching us.
"See how my baby turns the table?" he said to Angel, who chuckled and nodded.
"Baby, your face," I said irritably.
"I should be the one upset because you're texting your ex. But why are you the one who's angry?" he said softly.
He took a step closer to me. He stared at me while I could see it in my peripheral vision. I chose to ignore him because I was annoyed. I was annoyed at myself for feeling this way.
Suddenly, it seemed like my thoughts shifted because I felt his arm wrap around my waist from behind. I felt like my heart would explode from the overwhelming joy I was feeling.
He rested his chin on my shoulder. I glanced at Angel, who was wide-eyed, watching us.
"You win... You're not allowed to be with other girls... You can be with other guys even if I don't want you to... This is just a game... I lose," he whispered softly to me.
I was frozen by his words. I couldn't even breathe. I immediately felt my face heat up.
Can someone please help me? Because I felt like I was going to drown.
