"I continued eating, and so did Angel. Neither of us spoke because I was too absorbed in my food. I found myself smiling and giggling every time I reread his texts.
I finished my meal, still thinking only about him. I think I'm really drowning.
"I'll go upstairs, I'll take care of things here. Go and have fun, call him!" My friend supported me.
I looked at her and gave a thumbs-up gesture before she ran upstairs to her room. I took a deep breath before calling him. He said he would be the one to call, so why am I the one calling now?!
"You're mine," He started.
I couldn't speak because of the words he uttered.
"Babe..."
"I've totally fallen for you..."
"Are you done eating?" He asked sweetly.
I bit my lip and took a deep breath.
"Yes, I just finished. Have you eaten?" I asked.
I sat on the bed and waited for his answer.
"Hmmm, yes, I just finished too. I waited until I finished eating before calling you, but you already called me," he explained. "Did you miss me already, huh?"
I scolded myself in annoyance. There! I'm too eager!
"I miss you," I blurted out unintentionally.
I heard his slight curse as if he moved the phone away from himself.
"Selene... My baby... Did you know that you take my breath away? Huh?" He said lovingly.
"You too," I admitted.
"Damn it!" he exclaimed. "Sorry, Baby... I couldn't help it! Damn it, why do I feel so giddy like this?" He said laughingly.
I laughed at what he said.
"By the way, I'm going to resign from the hotel tomorrow. I won't be able to see you much anymore," I said softly.
I heard his sexy chuckle. "What the hell are you saying? I won't allow not seeing you for a whole day, or not seeing each other sometimes. I will still love you more than the distance between the two of us," he stopped. "I will find a way to see you because you're part of my basic needs. Without you, I can't... I won't be able to,"
His words felt like a cold splash of water. My eyes widened, and I slowly covered my mouth. I might not be able to hold back my tears. My heart might really burst!
"Selene... Are you still there? I have something else to tell you aside from I love you very much," his voice softened.
"What is it?" I asked.
"I searched your name on Google," he stopped.
"Then?" I interjected.
"Your name Yoreh is another name for the moon. And Selene is the goddess of the moon," he said in amazement.
"Ah, yes, because when I was in my mother's womb, she had a habit of gazing at the moon," I explained.
"I was just bored earlier while eating, and I thought to browse something regarding your name."
I bit my lower lip and played with my hair.
"And my name Cyrus is a Persian name meaning Sun, while Elio is a Spanish and Italian name also meaning Sun," He explained.
I nodded.
I sighed.
I'm the moon.
He's the Sun.
We cannot be together.
Because...
It was blurry to see the two of us.
"Ah," was all I could say.
I didn't know what to say. I couldn't find any words.
"You're going to resign tomorrow, right? After that, let's go on a date," he invited me without hesitation.
Something in my mind was shouting 'Label first.'
I tucked my hair behind my ear and bit my lip. I kept swallowing because I didn't know if I should agree or not.
"Okay," was all I said.
I smiled, and I heard his slight cursing again, probably from happiness. I could feel my jaw starting to hurt from smiling too much.
I loved Josh too, but it wasn't like this; maybe that was infatuation? Maybe I didn't love him? Maybe it's just infatuation? Or maybe not?
I shook my head.
"Are you sure? Maybe you're just--"
"I want to!" I shouted eagerly.
We both fell silent for a moment.
Damn! I'm so shameless now!
"Okay, I'll pick you up tomorrow at your apartment. I'll take you to the hotel, and then we'll have our date," he said happily.
I stood up, biting my lip, and leaned on the window sill in our room.
The sun was so bright that it made me close my eyes. I smiled slightly because even though it was sunny and hot, a strong wind blew against my face.
"Okay,"
And another moment of silence.
I could still hear him breathing, as if he was searching for more words to say to me.
"Do you want me to court you, or are you just being forced?" he nervously asked.
"I want you to," I replied seriously.
I heard him sigh.
"I really want to," I repeated.
"I love you," he said lovingly.
Damn!
"I love you so much," he said again.
"I love you even more,"
I closed my eyes because of what he said.
Damn it.
"Okay, bye now," I said.
He remained silent, as if expecting more words.
"Okay," he said.
But he still didn't hang up.
"Okay, bye for real. See you tomorrow," I said again. "I love you, until the moon becomes two," I happily said.
I hung up on him because I suddenly felt embarrassed about what I said.
