C27 Twenty seven

"She laughed, 'I know, just leave it there, you can boss around anyway since your friends aren't here yet.'

'Where did you even find your boyfriend? His mind is different,' I chuckled.

I placed my cellphone on the side table and leaned against the alarm clock before starting to eat again.

'Don't ask, or you might get creeped out by what you'll find out. He comes from an unusual place that only beautiful people like me know about. He also takes showers,' she teased before taking a sip from her glass of water.

'I don't know about you, but thanks,' I replied.

'Thanks your face! Shouldn't you be getting better since your exams are next week?' she asked with a furrowed brow.

I nodded, 'Yes.'

'Well, you should definitely get better then! You can't be like this because you won't be able to focus on reviewing,' she advised.

'Okay.'

'Do you have a problem? Why does it seem like you have another problem? I can sense it, like there's something you want to say,' she said with a concerned tone.

I smiled and shook my head; I didn't want to add to her problems because I knew she was already stressed about her grades. Yeah, she's a little bit grades-conscious. She just doesn't want her grades to drop below a certain level, that's her decision.

'My head just hurts,' I lied.

Still no reply from Cyrus to my earlier text, even a simple 'Good morning' was nowhere to be found.

I bit my lip and let out a sigh.

'Is that really the only problem?'

I looked up at the screen.

I pouted, 'I have a problem, but I can handle it, Ate. I can handle it, I need to,' I admitted.

She nodded, 'If you can't handle it anymore, tell me. You can borrow my shoulder when you want to cry. You can talk to me when you want.'

'Thank you,' she said with a smile.

'Okay, I'm going to go now. You should rest,' she said.

'Alright.'

'Bye,' she waved her hand.

'Bye,' I rolled my eyes and hung up.

I quietly returned my gaze to the cup.

I'm crying again, why am I like this? Why do I have to feel so down because of what's happening? Maybe it's just because I got rained on, right?

Still because of him.

Josh, even if he doesn't love me... he still cares,

When I'm sick like this and he knows I need his help. He's still there... beside me... cheering me up. Even though when we're on a date, he looks bored with the places we go... He's still there.

If Josh were with me right now, he might have cooked for me, wiped my face, watched over me.

But he's not the one I need, it's Cyrus.

Cyrus who's the reason why I feel even worse.

Cyrus is what I need... I need to take care of me. Not Samuel, not Josh, but Cyrus.

But he's not here... Does he even know I'm feeling like this? Does he even know I'm sick?

Maybe not?

Because he hurt me... he's hurting me without even knowing.

'Hey, why are you crying?' Samuel frowned at me with his hand in his pocket.

I didn't realize I was already crying!

"N-nothing,"

I nervously answered. He might tell Ate.

He cleared his throat and approached me. 'Someone's looking for you downstairs. Looks like they're going to gang up on me to become friends,' he said with a smile.

Someone's looking for me?

I quickly got up and returned the cup I was holding to the side table. Even though it was hard, I forced myself to stand up.

Maybe it's Cyrus!

'Be careful, take it slow!' he exclaimed.

He held my arm to help me down.

I smiled at Sai, Wendrix, Hugo, Izi, Jake, and Ben. They smiled back at me.

I glanced around as I stopped in front of them.

'Where's Cyrus?' I asked with a forced smile.

'He just had something to attend to,' Jake replied.

'Emergency came up,' Wendrix added.

Again?

'What happened? Emergency? Is he okay?' I asked in a flurry.

I looked at Samuel who mimicked me to sit on the couch.

'Thank you,' I said.

He just nodded and sat next to me.

'He didn't want to tell you. But he's fine, and he's not the one with a problem,' Izi explained.

I sighed in relief. That's good.

'Don't worry about that. Are you feeling better now? We brought you some fruits,' Ben said, nudging Sai.

'Here,' Sai handed me the fruits and smiled.

'How did you guys know I was sick?' I asked in surprise.

I wanted to ask if Cyrus sent them. But I didn't bother anymore.

'We bumped into Angel, and she said you were sick,' Hugo explained.

Samuel stood up and headed to the kitchen.

They all sat down on the sofa one by one and gave me a gentle smile.

'Who's that?' Wendrix asked.

He was referring to Samuel who brought a glass of water.

'Samuel,'

'Drink this,' he said, handing me the glass.

'Thank you,' I said with a smile.

As I drank, I glanced at Ben who seemed to be examining Samuel.

I wanted to say he's my sister's boyfriend, but I couldn't. Because my sister doesn't want anyone to know he's her boyfriend. It's not that she's embarrassed; she just doesn't want it to spread as gossip. I don't know why.

Wendrix's phone suddenly rang, causing me to stop drinking and look up.

Cyrus...

Why did he do it to him? Why not to me?

He answered without hesitation.

'Yeah... We're here... hmm.. He's not alone. Yeah, he's with someone. His name's Samuel, Bro,' he said, glancing at Samuel.

'Oh, don't be mad at me. Yeah, alright,' Wendrix chuckled.

He put down his phone and faced me.

'He said he'll come visit you later. He said you weren't answering his calls. He just woke up,' Hendrix explained.

Tears immediately filled my eyes, making them panic.

I'm so happy.

I'm so, so happy."
