C3 three
I stared at him even more intensely. When Papa God poured blessings, He must have given this guy all the good genes. His dark eyes seemed to contain the essence of the darkest night, with thick eyebrows, long eyelashes, a pointed nose, and red kissable lips. Is he for real?!
I heard him chuckle. "Hey, You okay?... Breathe," he said, trying to suppress his laughter while extending his hand.
It was only then that I realized I had been holding my breath! I took a deep breath, bringing myself back to reality. I looked at him firmly and let out a smile.
"Y-yes, here," I shyly replied, handing him the paper left by the woman.
With his good looks, it was undeniable that he didn't have a girlfriend. Maybe the woman earlier was his girlfriend? But why wasn't he answering her calls? He shouldn't have kept his girlfriend waiting! To the point where she had to come here! Is he heartless?
He rolled his eyes while looking at the piece of paper. Even his eye roll was attractive. I never thought such a man existed! I thought these kinds of men only existed in the romance novels I read!
He looked at me. "Don't give my room number to anyone," he said sharply, his gaze piercing.
I smiled. "No need to tell me, Sir. This is part of our policy not to provide guest information to other receptionists. So, don't worry," I replied while rubbing my hands together.
His gaze lingered on me. "Okay... then I need to go," he said with a playful tone, winking at me. "See you when I see you," he said before turning away.
I almost stumbled as I stood there, gazing at him. He was just wearing gray cargo khaki shorts and a black t-shirt, which showcased his toned arms. With each step he took away from me, I could still admire his ruggedness. He left a mark wherever he went! Such a beautiful mark.
"Your drool might drip," Mawi teased me.
I pouted. "Is he an actor?" I asked while reaching for my bag inside the cabinet.
I heard her laugh. "No, he just has an actor-like appearance. He's handsome, isn't he?" she asked, glancing at the handsome guy.
I just nodded in agreement. I let out a long sigh before disappearing from her sight.
"I'm leaving, how about you?" I bid her farewell and turned to her.
She shook her head. "I'll be working overtime today. Alright, take care!" she said, turning to the guest who approached her.
I walked out alone; I'll just wait for Angel here. I looked around and smiled slightly as I saw the continuous flow of vehicles around me. Some were entering the hotel, probably in a hurry. Some were students passing by, laughing. I busied myself counting the passing cars. Next time, I won't wait for Angel! Time passes so slowly.
"Hi, Miss beautiful," I heard a cold baritone voice say. I straightened up and took a deep breath. I know I'm beautiful! But I'm not assuming, so I didn't look back.
A guy appeared in front of me. "You," he said, pointing his finger at me.
I furrowed my brows as I looked at him. He's very handsome! Now he's wearing a white t-shirt, but he's still in those cargo khaki shorts.
My brows furrowed. "Me?" I asked while pointing to myself. I looked around but I was the only woman here.
He chuckled and looked at me. "Yes," he answered, running his finger through his hair. "Can you come with me tomorrow at 5 pm? I'll pick you up here," he said in a cold tone. Though there was some hesitation on his face.
"W-what? Why?" I asked, puzzled.
He chuckled again and glared at me. "Just be with me, don't worry, I won't do anything to you," he touched his lips and examined me from head to toe. "But if you want--"
I cut him off. "I mean why? First of all, we're not friends," I asked. "I have class tomorrow," I made an excuse, which is true. I saw Angel behind him with a mischievous smile on her lips. It's as if she had no intention of interfering.
He rolled his eyes and stared at me. "Where do you study? I'll fetch you,"
I shook my head. "Oh no! I have things to do tomorrow. Why?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"I need you," he said seriously. "Just go with me; I'll pay for your time. Just accompany me," he looked desperate because of his tone.
I bit my lower lip. "What exactly will we do? Promise you won't do anything to me? Because I have many dreams, and I'm not allowed to disappear--"
"I just need your presence, and that's all. Where can I fetch you?" he lazily asked, looking at me with narrowed eyes.
He doesn't seem like a bad guy? "Uh, okay, ULCM at the exit," I said, smiling.
He just nodded and left me. Wow, is that all?! Rude! I couldn't do anything but watch him walk away.
"You know Cyrus! There, see?" Angel teased me and touched my arm. I almost stumbled because of her slight push, so I gave her a dirty look.
"I don't really know him, but do you?" I asked and walked. I felt her following me right away.
She laughed. "Who wouldn't know that handsome guy? He's also studying at ULCM, and he's three years older than us," I quickly turned to her because of what she said.
"Wow! Are you stalking him?" I laughed and teased her.
She rolled her eyes and murmured something. "Sorry, I'm not stalking him, I just happen to overhear some students whispering," a bus stopped in front of us, so we quickly got on and sat down.
"They're whispering, but you heard it?" I asked with a mischievous tone. She just looked at me with annoyance, so I couldn't help but laugh.
She chuckled. "You're becoming dumber over time," she joked and laughed.
"Why? Do you have a headache?" she asked with concern.
I nodded and smiled. "A bit,"
"It'll hurt more if you don't have a head," she replied sarcastically.
"I don't know about you! So, he's really going to be an engineer?" I seriously asked, referring to Cyrus.
She pouted. "Yes!"
"I think I'm falling for him," I jokingly said as I pinched the arm of the person next to me.
"Fool! Just because he's an engineer, you're already in love? What about what you said, you only like engineers from the outside world?" she sarcastically asked.
My brows furrowed. "So are you saying I like engineers who are half meteor, half meteorites, and pure meteoroid?" I joked. Luckily, there wasn't much traffic, so we arrived home.
"You're just crazy!" she retorted.
"Because of the books I read, I became interested in engineers, sometimes attorneys, you know! It's emotional, I'm not kidding. I went straight to my room as soon as we reached the apartment. I even massaged my legs because I stood for eight hours, and I was wearing heels, so I felt a bit sore.
I looked at my cellphone and unlocked it, displaying my class schedule for each day. I also changed into my pajamas. Brown cotton pajama pants and a white t-shirt. I tied my long wavy hair.
"What's for dinner?" I heard Angel ask as she sat on the couch. She was still wearing her uniform and seemed too lazy to change.
"Stones," I replied sarcastically, which caused her to throw a pillow at me.
"You're such a jerk!" she laughed and went upstairs.
I started cooking. Actually, I can only cook basic foods. I don't know how to cook pork sinigang, chicken adobo, or beef menudo. I can only fry eggs, hotdogs, bacon, or whatever. But at least now I can somewhat cook, maybe next time I'll learn how.
I also cooked rice and fried fish because those were the only things in the fridge that I could cook. Angel came downstairs, and we ate together. As usual, she had something to say about everything. But this time, I was really listening to her because she was talking about Cyrus.
"Sometimes I see him on campus, and I almost break my neck trying to look at him! I thought you knew him, but then again, you don't seem to care about your surroundings," she said, shrugging before taking a sip of water.
I nodded. "Crazy! ULMC is so vast, of course I wouldn't roam around there! But maybe I'll bump into him tomorrow," I said with a smile. She just nodded and continued eating.
"Oh, I might be late tomorrow; I'm not sure what time I'll be home. I'll cook and do the dishes before I go to work, and you'll do it when you come home. Is your professor still taking that one week off?" I asked.
Her brows furrowed, and she looked at me. "He said he'd be absent for one week, but there's a substitute. But I don't understand it; our professor teaches better. Why would you be late? Where are you going?" she asked, looking at me with annoyance and raising an eyebrow as she waited for my answer.
"I have a sideline, don't ask! I'm going up!" I said goodbye after finishing my meal.
I went back to my room. I heard her yelling at me to do the dishes! But I'll do it later; she might throw questions at me later.
I spent my time on the terrace, looking at the sparkling stars. I closed my eyes as the strong wind blew against my face. When I felt energized, I went back downstairs and washed the dishes. I saw Angel still in the living room, watching a movie. Sometimes she would look at me while doing the dishes and make faces, acting like a fool.
When I finished, I bid Angel goodnight, and she just nodded as if she didn't care. As usual, she still acted like a fool. I had a hard time falling asleep, but it became even harder when I realized that I would see Cyrus again tomorrow. Wow, why do I feel so close to Cyrus already? He looks interesting, like an attractive painting in an art exhibit.
