C33 Thirty three
"Here?" I lifted up the pink dress. "Or this?" I lifted up the white dress.
I couldn't sit still because of my nervousness about what to wear. What if his parents are nice to me during our first meeting? I mean, I know they're nice because of the way they treat others. I'm just worried they might be surprised that I'm their son's girlfriend!
"I prefer the white one, it looks formal but still has a charm," Mawi commented.
She was seated on her bed now, watching me fuss around.
I nodded and smiled, "Okay!" I said energetically before rushing down to the bathroom.
We had just finished our last exam and Cyrus surprised me with a 'meet the parents' situation! To be honest, I'm more nervous about this than I was about the exam earlier! I mean, why couldn't he just tell me that his parents were coming! So I wouldn't have been rushing around like this!
Damn it, Cyrus!
"Does it look good?" I asked Angel as I bumped into her.
I even held onto the fabric of the dress I was wearing and twirled it slightly.
She chuckled, "Yes," she replied briefly before walking past me.
I just woke up because of her! Wow, I wish everyone could nap in the afternoon!
I rolled my eyes and glanced at the wall clock. It was only five o'clock, and we agreed to meet at six.
So I had no qualms about going back to my room. I'm really annoyed! I don't even have any fresh face powder or anything! It's frustrating! I wish I had known!
I put on a little makeup and just straightened my long hair. I could still feel my hands trembling from nervousness. Sometimes I even accidentally burned my ear.
"Hey! Girl, Your Cyrus is already waiting outside, don't you want to let him in?" Angel said.
I gave her a stern look.
"Why haven't you let him in yet?" I asked irritably.
She rolled her eyes, "I thought you knew and didn't want me to let him in,"
"Duh," I retorted and continued fixing myself.
"I'll let him in now," she said again.
"Yeah, thanks," I replied.
I resumed fixing myself. I even glanced at Mawi who was now busy with her cellphone. She even mentioned that her ex Mark was trying to get back with her. She even asked us if she should accept him back? As if we could feel her feelings. So I just told her whatever she wanted, then! We're always here for her anyway.
"Selene," a sweet voice called out to me.
I turned to the door and there stood the handsome guy.
He was just wearing grey chinos that accentuated his long legs and a white shirt that emphasized the beautiful curve of his chest and masculine arms. I looked him over and also noticed that he was wearing Burgundy Brown Double Monk Shoes. He really stood out with his great and manly charisma. Huh?
"Selene," he called again.
He briefly ran his fingers through his hair before smiling and walking towards me. I gathered my things and started hiding them because it seemed like everything was okay now.
"Are you leaving?" I asked.
I glanced briefly at my reflection in the mirror and gently brushed my still slightly warm hair.
"Yeah," he replied simply, so I turned to face him.
I raised my eyebrows, "Okay," I simply replied.
He pouted, "Let's go," he said when he saw that I was done.
I nodded and picked up the white purse I was going to carry. I raised my gaze to him again because he was smiling at me.
"We're leaving," I said goodbye to Mawi.
"Okay, take care," she replied while still focused on her cellphone.
I just rolled my eyes and looked back at him. He slowly wrapped his arm around my waist and guided me to the walkway.
"Why do you keep smiling?" I asked irritably.
He chuckled and pinched my cheeks.
"What, my face powder might come off!" I complained and lightly slapped his arm.
He laughed, "Okay sorry, baby," he apologized with a chuckle. "You're just so beautiful. I can't take my eyes off you," he said affectionately.
I just fell silent because of what he said. No other words came out of my mouth because I couldn't think of anything.
"Baby.." he called out to me.
I looked around.
"We're leaving," I said goodbye to Angel who was in the kitchen.
She nodded, "Okay, take care,"
We started walking again, and he was like a leech clinging to me.
"What's wrong?" I irritably slapped his arm.
His brows furrowed, making me swallow hard.
"Why?"
"You're holding on too tight," I complained.
"What's wrong with this?" he brought me closer to him.
"As if I'm going to disappear!"
He fell silent for a moment and pouted. I continued walking, but he still opened the door for me to the front seat. So I had no hesitation in getting in. He turned around to get into the driver's seat, still with a smile on his lips.
"You really look beautiful, My Moon," He complimented me.
I pouted, feeling like my heart was fluttering because of what he said. Even though he's said things like this over and over again, I still get excited every time, as if he's saying it for the first time.
"Speechless, huh? Is that the effect I have on you? Do you really love me that much? More than enough?" he arrogantly asked.
He started driving and kept glancing at me with a playful smile on his lips.
I just rolled my eyes and looked out the window. It's starting to get
dark, which is good. No matter what I do, I can't sleep during car rides. You know that feeling when you want to doze off? But my eyes just won't close! It's annoying!
"Baby..."
"Hmmm" was my only response as I kept my gaze on the road.
"We're almost there, you might fall asleep," he softly said.
So I adjusted my seating position and turned to him. I felt like my lips were about to burst because of how much I was smiling. Even though I'm nervous, there's still a part of me that's excited!
"Okay," I replied with a smile.
"Are you excited?" he asked.
I pouted, "Yes, but I'm also nervous at the same time,"
"Why are you nervous? You've already met Mom and Dad, right?"
"Yeah, I'm just nervous," I explained and nodded.
We stopped at an Italian Restaurant.
"Do you guys like Italian Restaurants?" I asked in amazement.
I quickly unbuckled my seatbelt, and so did he. He looked at me with a smile.
"Yup," he simply replied.
He got out to open the door for me. As if I don't know how to open it! But it's okay, it seems like this is his habit.
He wrapped his arm around my waist again. We walked, and I admit some of the customers here are staring at us.
"Oh my! Yoreh!" Aunt Alejandra greeted me.
