C56 fifty six
I'm wearing a white crochet lace dress with my botanic Ivy white sandals.
Some people glance at me as they look around. I tightened my grip on my purse and the paper bag I'm carrying.
"Yoreh!" I heard someone call.
I turned around to see Akia calling me. She's smiling widely and examining my look.
We're here at a resort because the theme for the party chosen by the couple is a pool party.
"Sorry, did I come too early?" I said embarrassedly.
I scratched my neck and glanced around. There weren't too many people yet. Well, I guess I'm an hour early!
She chuckled. "It's fine! Come over to our table for now. I'll show you my baby later; I'm still fixing him up," she said enthusiastically.
She took me by the elbow before leading me somewhere. Akia was still talking to some people, so we stopped.
"Is Cyrus coming?" I asked as I sat down.
She smiled mischievously and patted my shoulder.
"I don't think so," she gave a simple answer.
I frowned. "Did you tell him I was coming?" I asked.
She shrugged. "Yes," she replied curtly.
I avoided her gaze and adjusted my seat. I crossed my arms over my chest and took a deep breath.
"So, is he avoiding me?" I bit my lower lip. "Please ask him to come, Akia,"
She straightened up and smoothed out my hair.
"It's Cyrus's choice if he doesn't want to come here. But since you said so, I'll try to persuade him, but I can't promise that he'll actually come,"
I nodded. "Thanks," I said gratefully. "By the way, where should I put this?" I pointed to the paper bag I brought.
"Later when others start giving gifts because they're still setting up the gift area. I'll leave you here for now. I'll just help with arranging some things, is that okay?"
I nodded. "Sure, no problem. Take your time," I replied with a smile.
She smiled back. "Alright," she patted my shoulder before walking away.
Seriously, it looks like they really prepared for this birthday party. I wonder how their baby's first birthday was like? It's probably more beautiful because it's the first birthday!
I adjusted my seat and sat properly. I also fixed my purse and the paper bag I brought. My gift isn't that expensive, but as long as it comes from the heart, it's okay, right?
Akia also mentioned that her child is a boy. I wonder what he looks like? Akia has good genes, so most likely, her child is really handsome!
I sighed and bit my lip.
What if Cyrus and I have children together? I wouldn't lose out! Cyrus is handsome, and he really has good genes! Well, I'm pretty too, and I know that.
I smiled at the thought.
A strong gust of wind blew, causing my hair to sway with the breeze.
I smiled at the people passing by, and they smiled back. It's a good thing they did! Because if not, my mood might have changed immediately, and I might have scowled again. I should have brought Sophie along! So I also told Akia to invite some of my friends who are available now! But it might be embarrassing!
"Yoreh, you're here? Akia invited you, too? She's also Cyrus's ex, right? You guys know each other, and she even invited you?" Ben asked in amazement.
He was alone and his other friends weren't here yet. I hope Cyrus comes soon! So I can make my moves on him!
I chuckled. "Yeah, just because she's also Cyrus's ex doesn't mean I'll treat her like an enemy. She's nice and kind, so why not? She doesn't do anything wrong or show any bad behavior towards me," I rolled my eyes.
They have a past with Cyrus, and I have no right to question that anymore. Maybe I was immature before, feeling insecure or seeing her as a threat to me and Cyrus. That's not the situation right now! She has her own family.
He sat down next to me, and I remembered the time when Cyrus invited me! When he brought me to Ben's birthday because of Akia! He left me at that time, and Ben sat next to me when he saw me alone.
Oh, the white envelope! It's still with me.
"Why are you alone? Aren't your husband and child with you?" He asked with a hint of sarcasm.
I looked at him with disgust. They really think Samuel is my husband? Disgusting! Seriously? My sister's husband?!
I rolled my eyes. "Samuel is not my husband. He's my sister's husband!" for Pete's sake!
He straightened up, looking confused. He shook his head and stared at me intently.
As if I'm not telling the truth!
"I mean, you don't have a husband yet?" he asked in amazement.
He even pointed at me. He adjusted his polo shirt and stared at me intently again.
As if I didn't tell the truth!
"I don't, You're so annoying. Samuel is my sister's husband, and even before Cyrus and I were together, they were already together. So stop thinking that Samuel is my boyfriend or husband because it's disgusting," I explained irritably.
He laughed. "Why are you getting angry?" he teased.
I crossed my arms and glared at him. "How about Cyrus?" I shot back.
I knew the answer; I just wanted to fire back at him.
"Hmm, what do you mean?" he asked.
I raised my eyebrows. "I mean, when I saw you guys at the school. What was that all about?"
He pouted and shrugged. "No comment," he replied mischievously.
As if I didn't know!
I saw Sai approaching our way, and they immediately waved at me. So I waved back.
