C57 fifty seven
Some are still glancing our way because they're so handsome, who wouldn't look, right?
They sat in the empty chairs; there were plenty of seats available at our spot because the table was big.
"So, Cyrus is married now?" I pretended not to know.
They fell silent and exchanged glances as if searching for the right words to answer me. Just wow, you want me to figure it out for you?
"You too," Wendrix replied calmly.
"Is Cyrus happy with his wife? with his family?" I feigned innocence.
Izi chuckled, "Why don't you ask Cyrus himself?" then he smirked!
I gave him a side-eye, so he pouted.
"Maybe Cyrus is happy," Jake said.
"Who wouldn't be happy when they're married and have children, right?" Wendrix chimed in, glancing at me.
"Yeah, exactly," Hugo added.
I shrugged, grinning. "How would I know? I don't have a husband yet, so how would I know?" I turned the question back on them.
They straightened up in their seats, giving me serious looks.
I arrogantly flipped my hair and adjusted my posture, crossing my arms in front of my chest.
Crazy!
I raised an eyebrow at them. "Too bad, I'm willing to chase him. But I can't anymore because he's already married with children," I pretended to say sadly.
They fell silent at my words. I could feel they wanted to deny that what they said about Liane and Cyrus wasn't true, but something was holding them back.
"Isn't Cyrus coming? Call him and tell him to come here. Tell him I saw a lot of Shanghai," I ordered.
Wendrix nodded and took out his cellphone.
He didn't bother to stand up or anything. He immediately dialed Cyrus's number.
He's still the same! My little messengers. Hehe.
"Hello, Bro? We're here at Prince's birthday party. Yoreh is looking for you... Chill, Bro. I'm not joking. Yeah, idiot! It's true. They said to tell you there's a lot of Shanghai here. Hurry up," Wendrix said with a laugh.
"Is he coming?" I asked.
He shrugged. "Not sure, he said he's busy," he replied simply.
"Busy," I repeated, not believing it again.
They avoided my gaze.
"How are you guys doing?" I changed the subject.
"Izi, Sai, and I are registered nurses now," Jake answered.
I covered my mouth in surprise. "You're nurses?! I thought you were engineers too!" I exclaimed.
"Me, Wendrix, Hugo, and Cyrus are the engineers. Civil engineers," Ben proudly clarified.
I nodded. "Wow, I had no idea you guys were registered nurses," I said to the three of them. "Aren't you busy?" I asked.
Sai shook his head. "Not too busy, just busy enough. We made time to attend here since Akia is also our friend," he explained.
I nodded in amazement. "And you?" I turned to Ben, Hugo, and Wendrix.
"I'm just right, I have pending projects but it's okay since I can handle it. Wendrix is the only busy one," Wendrix joked.
"I'm okay with the projects assigned to me and I accept," Ben answered.
"Same," Hugo lazily replied.
"Wow, none of you have wives or girlfriends yet?" I asked curiously.
Hugo laughed. "I have a girlfriend," he proudly replied.
"Same," said Wendrix.
Sai raised his right hand. "Courting someone."
Ben shrugged. "Same."
"Planning to propose!" Izi exclaimed.
"Engaged," Jake proudly said.
I covered my mouth in surprise.
"Seriously?" I asked, unable to believe it.
Really?! These guys?! Who do nothing but tease?!
They all nodded.
"How about Cyrus?"
"Waiting for someone," Sai quickly answered.
My brows raised. "Having a family, huh?" I teased.
Jake immediately slapped Sai for his revelation.
"Oh, uh, he's waiting. I mean, he's waiting for Liane because they're planning to get married again," Sai said, stumbling over his words.
"Is that so?" They nodded. "But wait, wouldn't it be weird if Cyrus and Liane ended up together? I mean, Liane is pretty, but it's weird if siblings get married, right?"
They looked at me puzzled.
I rolled my eyes. "Akia told me the truth and I'm very disappointed," I pretended to say sadly.
They laughed awkwardly. "Uh, it's nothing, we're just joking with you!" Sai said.
I sighed and acted as if they hurt me deeply.
I pouted. "Do you guys really dislike Cyrus that much?" I said sadly.
They all shook their heads. "No way," Wendrix said.
I laughed. "Just kidding," I joked.
Arrogantly, I brushed my hair away, which was hitting my face because of the strong wind. Why didn't I think of tying it up or wearing a headband?!
I adjusted my posture to get a better view and then I saw a familiar figure. I swallowed hard.
Even though he wore glasses, I knew him well. He was just wearing a white button-up long sleeve, rolled up to his elbows, and beige trousers, with brown loafers.
He walked confidently towards us. He ran his fingers through his hair before tucking it into his pocket. Still the same habit! He doesn't change!
Why does he still wear glasses?! I couldn't tell if he was looking at me.
Shamelessly, I stood up and approached him. I put my arm around his arm.
They were slightly surprised by what I did, but he quickly moved away from me and went straight to sit on the empty chair next to Wendrix.
He took off his glasses and greeted his friends.
He ignored me. He just smiled with his friends. He didn't bother to glance at me. He just sat on the chair like he didn't see me. He was pretending as if I was wind, the wind he could feel but his beautiful eyes had not seen.
I would admit, it hurts.
