C58 fifty eight
I gave Wendrix a significant look, and it seemed like he understood what I wanted to convey.
He stood up. "Bro, do you know this person?" he showed the screen to Ben.
It seemed like Ben got the hint too because he nodded, even though Wendrix only showed him a blue lock screen.
With a wide grin, I approached Wendrix's chair, and I looked at the person beside him, whose jaw was now tensing up. He seemed irritated by my presence, unable to meet my gaze even when I looked at him. His forehead furrowed, eyebrows raised as he stared into space.
"Cyrus," I called him softly.
He ignored me and just took out his cellphone.
"Cyrus," I repeated.
I could feel my knees weakening. I was nervous! I bit my lip and glanced at his face, which was bowed down, eyes fixed on the screen.
"Cyrus," I called out with a cracked voice.
He put his cellphone back into his pocket and gave me an irritated look.
"What do you want to say? Yoreh," he asked irritably.
I pursed my lips and looked at him.
The way he looked at me? His irritation, anger, and annoyance were so obvious.
"Why Yoreh?" why not Selene?
He chuckled, "Why not Yoreh?"
I pouted, "Why not Selene?"
He smirked, "Why Selene?" he countered.
I quickly looked away. Yeah, why indeed.
I wanted to shout at him for being so stubborn, but I shouldn't act up more because it was my fault why he was behaving like this.
I glanced at his friends, pretending to be oblivious.
"Are you going to school on Monday?" I changed the subject.
He sighed, "Are you?"
I nodded, "Yes."
"Then no, I won't go to school," his response silenced me.
I clenched my hand to calm myself down. I avoided his gaze again because I felt embarrassed. Even though they pretended not to hear, I knew they heard everything because they barely suppressed a smirk.
I felt like my chest was about to explode from holding my breath for too long.
He could have just said he wasn't going! Why did he have to make it clear to me... to us that he wasn't going because I was there?!
"Cyrus, can I get your number?" I asked nervously.
"No," he replied firmly.
His eyes were directly fixed on me.
His gaze made my eyes water, so I quickly looked away, feeling my chest tighten again because of his demeanor.
I sighed, "Are you mad at me?" I asked boldly.
He chuckled, "Yes," he replied firmly.
I furrowed my brows to hold back my tears.
"Are you married?" he said, looking at my hand.
I raised my hands, "No," and showed him that there was no ring.
His expression turned serious again, "Engaged?" he asked.
I shrugged, "No," I replied with a shake of my head.
He chuckled, "You disappoint me. Did you get pregnant without being married?" he said as he adjusted his rolled-up sleeve.
I furrowed my brows. "I don't have a husband or children, Cyrus. Stop it, and what's wrong with getting pregnant even if you're not married? Is that a crime?" I retorted irritably.
"Sorry," he apologized softly.
"Can I get your number?"
"No," he replied coldly.
Too bad! I thought I could trick him!
I didn't bother to insist if he didn't want to! I'll just get it from his friends! He's so snobbish! It's like he didn't even cry over me.
I went back to my seat because I was annoyed by his attitude. I knew I was wrong, but still! He's irritating!
I adjusted my posture and crossed my legs, taking out my cellphone because I was so annoyed.
From: Khalil
Where are you?
I glanced at Sai who peeked at my phone screen.
"Your boyfriend?" he asked, smirking at the screen.
His friends glanced at him and then turned to me. I ignored them and focused on the screen.
What does this Khalil Alfero want now?!
To: Khalil
Just at a birthday party. What's the problem?
I just focused on my phone screen.
I felt like I was being stared at with deadly intent, so I looked up at Cyrus. He was staring at me, his face serious.
I rolled my eyes because I was getting more irritated. Is he really this annoying to me?
From: Khalil
Oh, too bad! I was hoping to go with you.
Too bad indeed!
It's a shame because when Khalil is with me, he always brings me luck! Chocolates!
"Can you fix your dress? Your cleavage is showing," Cyrus said irritably.
I suddenly felt embarrassed because of what he said, so I looked at my cleavage!
"It's a style, Bro," Izi explained.
"Yeah, it's a style," I replied simply.
I was about to turn back to my phone screen when he spoke again.
"Really?" he asked sarcastically.
It's true!
I didn't bother to respond to him and just started typing again.
To: Khalil
Yes!
From: Khalil
Alright! See you later!
"Bro, he said see you later," Ben reported and grinned at my phone screen.
I gave him a sharp look. I quickly put my phone back into my purse.
Cyrus didn't respond to Ben's report; instead, he crossed his arms and gave me a dirty look. If his glare could kill, I'd probably be dead by now.
"His name is Khalil, Bro," Sai reported.
"Your boyfriend?" Hugo asked.
