C61 sixty one
He stepped forward and held me by both cheeks to face him. I glanced at his Adam's apple moving with each swallow he took.
In the way he looked at me, I felt like I couldn't escape him anymore. It's like my body had its own mind.
I hugged him... very tight.
"I'm angry, First of all, you promised you wouldn't leave, but you still left," He sighed and stroked my back.
"Second, I waited for you for years to come back to Manila, but you didn't return, so I took the chance and got myself assigned here," he explained softly.
"Third, I thought you and Samuel were married, that the woman I wanted to run my world was already taken," I immediately felt his lips brush against my forehead.
"Fourth, It seemed so easy for you to come back to me because you knew I would always come back to you," he said tenderly.
"Fifth, No matter what I do, no matter how hard I try to avoid you, no matter how far I go from you. I'm still into you, you're still what I want, and I can't help but want you," he said softly and ran his fingers through my hair.
I leaned into his muscular arms. I closed my eyes and let my tears fall.
If earlier the tears were full of pain.
Now it seems like tears of joy.
"Let's go home," he said.
I was alarmed by his words, so I broke free from his embrace.
"Huh?" I asked in surprise.
He didn't let me escape from him; instead, he grabbed me by the waist. His habits that I really miss the most.
He chuckled and looked at my sister, "Can I borrow Selene?" as if I were just a broomstick borrowed by the neighbor.
I glanced at Ate, who was holding onto Samuel's waist.
She smiled and nodded, "Sure, but don't bring Yoreh home," she said with a grin.
I immediately felt my face flush from what Ate said. Seriously?!
I scrunched my brows, feeling his grip on my side, so I turned to look at him. He was biting his lower lip to stop himself from smiling. Slowly, he lowered his gaze to my lips, so I bit mine too.
Why do I feel like kissing him?!
His beautiful eyes that seemed to melt me anytime. I immediately felt my knees weaken because who wouldn't melt under his gaze full of pleading and admiration.
He turned to Khalil, "I'll take Selene with me," he tightened his grip on me.
As if Khalil would stop us when he's staring at Cyrus with his mouth agape. I looked at Cyrus, who proudly shrugged. He gestured for me to walk as if saying we're leaving now.
"Wait," I intervened. "Shouldn't I change clothes first? Should I wear a dress? I'm just wearing a tank top and pajamas," I scanned myself quickly.
He grinned and chuckled, "That's fine. You look better like that than in that dress where your cleavage is showing. Is it better if it's just me with you or if anyone else sees?" He licked his lower lip.
I blushed, "It's called style," I reasoned.
He gazed at me as if he wasn't satisfied. "You're dressed fine, so come on, let's go home."
I sighed in surrender. Because no matter what excuse I give him, I know I won't win. Because just one look from his beautiful eyes makes me melt.
"Ate, I'll go with Cyrus for a bit," I scratched my neck. "We just have some things to talk about," I bit my lower lip.
Cyrus chuckled, "I don't believe it's just talking," and then he winked.
I immediately hit him on the arm. How could he say that in front of my sister? I touched my cheeks because of the sudden warmth in the air. It's like his words were an attack, causing my heart and mind to tremble.
I shook my head because of the thoughts swirling in my mind.
"Stop it!" I scolded.
He laughed, "Oh, my baby," he looked at me. "Have an unusual thought, huh?" he played with my fingers.
I rolled my eyes and looked away.
"Come on, I'll handle Mama and Papa. They already know you came here with Cyrus." she turned to Cyrus. "Cyrus already talked to Mama and Papa," she said with a smile.
I wonder what they talked about? Mama and Papa aren't strict. But because of what happened to us before, they've become cautious about the men I let into my life. I tested that when I introduced Khalil to them because they still didn't know he's gay.
"Just stay here for now, you two can leave," my sister shooed us away.
I nodded and walked towards the dining table where my purse was placed. I immediately felt Cyrus following me because of his firm grip on my waist.
I'm not going to run away!
I waved at Khalil, Samuel, and my sister as a goodbye.
We walked out, his grip on my waist still tight. I looked up at him. We locked eyes. His eyes were full of pleading as if he's saying how lucky he feels about what's happening now. He pushed a stray lock of hair behind my ear.
I haven't even brushed it yet! I suddenly turned around in embarrassment.
"Why? What's wrong?" he panicked.
"I haven't even brushed my hair yet! You're such a show-off!" I admitted.
He then held my hand, which was fixing my hair.
He held my hands tightly, and our fingers intertwined.
"You're even prettier with messy hair," He joked. "Let it be, no matter how you look, I still love you," he teased.
We started walking, holding hands.
I felt like I'm walking on air. I wanted nothing more, for every step I had with him and as we holding hands was enough for me, no one could mess.
