C8 eight
I woke up to the sound of noise from downstairs.
"I'll cook! Just sit there! Don't argue with me?!" I heard Mawi shout.
"You're a guest here! Let me do it! Oh well!" Angel shouted back.
I got up, rubbing my eyes. I scanned the room. It looked like Mawi had just finished arranging her things.
My gaze landed on the paper bag resting on my study table.
"What guest?! I'm staying here for a while! So let me do this for now!" Mawi proudly said.
I picked up the white envelope inside the paper bag.
"Thank you for being with me," I read on the back.
"Fine! You cook!" Angel surrendered.
I opened the white envelope. So Cyrus secretly put this envelope here in my paper bag, huh? Why didn't he just hand it to me? He's so secretive.
One...two...three...four...five thousand.
Actually, I didn't even remember how much he paid me for accompanying him, it wasn't a big deal to me. I needed the money, so I agreed, but I shouldn't have...but he's handsome, so...
I just put the money back in the envelope. It's okay if he doesn't pay me. Duh.
Maybe I'll just return it when we meet again? And I didn't really help him anyway, we just hung out at Ben's birthday. So it's only fair if I return it, right?
"What's for breakfast?" I asked as I descended.
"Fried eggs and hotdog, and I even made garlic rice," Mawi answered while her gaze was on the frying pan.
"Hey! I'm not a servant, Yoreh! She volunteered," Angel defended quickly.
I laughed, "Yes, I know, Angel. I heard you arguing, that's why I woke up! I thought there was some grand breakfast the way you two were arguing!"
"Wow," Angel said.
"You little brat," Mawi joked.
"I'll hit you," I fired back.
I sat at the chair opposite Angel at the dining table.
"Talking about poop this early!" Angel complained.
I laughed. "By the way, someone's already cooking for me," I pointed to Mawi. "And someone's setting the table," I pointed to Angel, who suddenly stood up.
She paused while setting the plate in front of me.
Her brows raised, "What do you want to imply?"
"I don't have servants," I proudly teased.
They muttered some curses, which made me laugh.
"Let the meeting begin," Mawi said jokingly as she served our plates.
Angel nodded, "Live, Yoreh Selene Antares, and Hot seat," she said, pretending to be an interviewer and even used her spoon as a mic.
"Hot seat?" I asked.
"Why were you late last night?" Angel asked.
"What did you and Cyrus Lavilla do?" Mawi playfully asked.
"Where did you go?" Angel asked.
Mawi was about to ask another question when I spoke up.
I laughed, "Stop bothering me! We were late because duh, we arrived at the venue at 6 pm! We just went to his cousin's birthday! That's all!" I answered with a smile.
"Really?" Angel teased.
"Yeah! You should have just eaten if you can't wait," I joked.
"Was it good?" Mawi asked.
"What's good?" I furrowed my brows.
"You know, you were late with Cyrus because you enjoyed yourselves," Mawi said.
I slapped her arm because I realized what she meant.
"You jerk!" I said with a laugh.
Angel laughed, "Hey! Defensive!" She teased and grabbed my hair.
"Too defensive! I meant the food! There, now you're making it obvious!" Mawi said.
I just rolled my eyes and continued eating. Seriously? It's chaotic here in the apartment even though it's just the two of us, me and Angel. And it's even more chaotic because Mawi's here! Well, I want Mawi to be here too. But are we going to be like this every day?
I glanced at Mawi who was happily eating. Wow, she acts like she doesn't have any problems at all. The way she's attacking the food, you'd think someone's going to take it away from her.
I just shook my head and turned to Angel, who was also busy eating.
I pouted when I remembered Cyrus. Is he fine? Has he moved on from his ex? It's obvious he still loves her. How can he survive? If he's already drowning from the start.
I hope he can move on soon because time is running out, and the longer he stays stuck, the deeper he'll drown.
I looked at Sadnie, who was busy listing the names of the people she got blood samples from. Mawi was the last one she drew blood from. She even came all the way to the apartment just to get blood samples.
Sadnie was my classmate since we were in Grade 10, so she knows where our apartment is. She even eats here sometimes.
It's been two weeks since Mawi stayed in the apartment, and for two weeks, I've been constantly disturbed by their noise, Mawi and Angel.
"Another order of fries and lemonade," I said, raising an eyebrow.
I looked at Sadnie, who nodded and threw her wallet at me. By the way, she already paid me back for her debt.
"Four cordon bleu and bottled water for me," Angel said, with a smug look on her face.
I looked at Sadnie, who put the paper back in her bag.
Sadnie frowned, "Can't we just have two for 'Thank you'? Do we really need four?"
I handed the money to the cashier, making sure Sadnie wouldn't change her mind and ask for the blood samples back in exchange for the money we just spent.
"Seven more," Sadnie replied.
"Why did you even become a medtech?" Angel complained as she took a bite of her cordon bleu.
"I don't know, I was supposed to be a nurse, but I ended up being a medtech," Sadnie explained.
"Let Sadnie decide, Angel, don't complain. You act like you didn't get free food," I teased.
"Shut up," she said and grabbed my hair.
"Too defensive! I meant the food! There, now it's obvious!" Mawi said.
