C9 nine
I looked at Sadnie, who was busy listing the names of the people she got blood samples from. Mawi was the last one she drew blood from. She even came all the way to the apartment just to get blood samples.
Sadnie was my classmate since we were in Grade 10, so she knows where our apartment is. She even eats here sometimes.
It's been two weeks since Mawi stayed in the apartment, and for two weeks, I've been constantly disturbed by their noise, Mawi and Angel.
"Another order of fries and lemonade," I said, raising an eyebrow.
I looked at Sadnie, who nodded and threw her wallet at me. By the way, she already paid me back for her debt.
"Four cordon bleu and bottled water for me," Angel said, with a smug look on her face.
I looked at Sadnie, who put the paper back in her bag.
Sadnie frowned, "Can't we just have two for 'Thank you'? Do we really need four?"
I handed the money to the cashier, making sure Sadnie wouldn't change her mind and ask for the blood samples back in exchange for the money we just spent.
"Seven more," Sadnie replied.
"Why did you even become a medtech?" Angel complained as she took a bite of her cordon bleu.
"I don't know, I was supposed to be a nurse, but I ended up being a medtech," Sadnie explained.
"Let Sadnie decide, Angel, don't complain. You act like you didn't get free food," I teased.
"Shut up," she said and grabbed my hair.
We walked to the canteen, and someone smiled at me...us, acting all familiar?
I pouted, "You don't have the right to shut me off! We have freedom of speech. I have the right to say or even express my opinion!" I said emotionally, as if her words hurt me so much.
"Okay," Angel simply replied.
"I need seven more," Sadnie sadly said as we sat down.
I laughed, "Sadnie's sad," I joked.
"Corn! You're corny," Sadnie retorted.
"Hey!" Angel said, annoyed. "There! Cyrus, let's get blood samples!" She said, pointing to Cyrus's direction.
I turned around and looked at him.
He's just wearing a white t-shirt and black slacks. He's with some guys who seem to be his friends because they're laughing together.
"The instruments are in the lab!" Sadnie panicked.
It's been two weeks since I last saw him. I haven't been able to catch him at the hotel.
I even think about him, If he's doing fine? Is he alright? Weird, but I don't know.
"I told you to bring them earlier so we could use them if we needed to!" Angel said.
Sadnie pouted, "It's dumb to bring an injection here in the canteen,"
"Hurry up so we won't get left behind," I said, signaling to some girls walking towards Cyrus's direction.
They look like med tech students because of what they're carrying. Wow, Is this really where they get blood samples? How disgusting.
"Damn it, hurry up!" Sadnie panicked again.
Angel laughed, "You're so stupid! Get your stuff quickly!"
"Fine!" Sadnie said, annoyed, as she stood up.
"You already had an encounter with Cyrus, right? Why don't you just talk to him first? Sadnie looks pitiful," Angel said sadly.
We looked at Sadnie, who was almost stumbling because she was in such a hurry.
"We're not really close to Cyrus, so do you think I should approach him?" I asked.
She nodded, "Yes, Sadnie looks pitiful,"
"It's embarrassing,"
"Oh come on! Now you're embarrassed when you're always telling other people all sorts of flowery words just to get blood samples. You're already a certified vampire," she replied.
"Okay, come with me," I said, standing up and walking towards Cyrus's group.
She nodded in agreement.
How do I ask him? Or approach him?
"Cyrus, can I ask for some blood?" That's too stupid.
"Cyrus, my friend needs to get blood samples from 50 people for her requirements," that's too long.
"Cyrus, please, it's necessary," a med tech student girl said seductively.
"Yeah, please," another one added.
They looked at us before bursting into laughter again. I looked around and noticed Cyrus staring at me, his eyebrows raised. He even played with his lips with his index finger and stared at me with a 'what do you need' look.
I teasingly grabbed his t-shirt with my thumb and index finger.
He chuckled, "What?" he asked.
"Give me some blood," I whispered.
That's just right for him to hear.
"What?" he asked again.
I looked at his friends who were looking at us and listening.
"I said, give me some blood," I said irritably.
They laughed, even his friends, at what I said.
"You're crazy! Say it properly," Angel whispered to me with a laugh.
"Who's that, Cyrus? She's just asking for candy," his friend said, laughing.
You're not that handsome anyway!
Cyrus laughed, "Why are you asking for blood? Seriously? My blood?" he asked incredulously.
"Our friend needs it for requirements, and if it's okay," I stopped and looked at his friends. "You too? We need 50 people, and we still need seven more,"
"Six of them," Angel whispered.
But it's easy to find one more.
"Sure! Just come with us later to Lacasa, the bar just around the corner," a fair-skinned guy invited.
Why is Cyrus surrounded by good-looking guys?!
"Okay!" Angel replied eagerly.
Seriously? As long as they're handsome!
"We're first!" the girl with a pale complexion said, probably because she's lacking blood due to her paleness.
I was about to answer her, but Cyrus spoke up again.
"Stop it, Jake!" Cyrus scolded. "Yoreh, don't come," he said firmly, staring at me with a glare.
Oh, why does it seem like it's my fault?
I wanted to join them at Lacasa because we just finished our exams, and I wanted to relax a bit. But when I looked at Cyrus's face? It seems like he really doesn't want us to be with them! So I'll just pass.
I shook my head, "I still have something to do," I lied with my most convincing tone.
"What's that?" Angel teased.
I just looked at her with a glare, so she just rolled her eyes as if she knew I was just making excuses.
"Oh really? What a waste! But there's always a next time, right?" Cyrus's friend asked.
I nodded, "Sure, next time,"
"Nice," Cyrus's friends said.
They clapped their hands like children. They're so silly.
"Can I have some blood, please?" I said with a smile.
They looked at me before bursting into laughter again. I looked around and noticed Cyrus staring at me, his eyebrows raised, examining my entire existence.
I don't know, but the way he looked at me seemed sexy! Is this normal? Why does every time he looks at me, it feels so delightful? I still have things to say, but realizing that he's staring at me made me shut up?
