C401 Gentle Comfort

The people around them quieted down as if they were strangled. Zhu Zhu and Millet stood around Ann Qianxi, not daring to even breathe.

In the midst of the molecular motion, a flammable and explosive gas was rapidly expanding. It was as if there was a transparent microwave oven that was continuously heating up, ready to explode at any moment.

After half a second of silence, Ann Qianxi kicked the door open like a storm.

Many sleepless nights, Ann Qianxi recalled the storm-like scene of crazily kicking at the door, the icy, flickering incandescent light on the ceiling above, the buzzing sound of the air-conditioning, the smell of Zhu Zhu's hair and lavender, as well as Millet's familiar face.

Perhaps it was Deng Yujin's slamming of the door that had angered her, perhaps it was Zhu Zhu's calm that had angered her, perhaps it was Millet's flickering eyes that had annoyed Ann Qianxi, but she clearly understood that the reason why Ann Qianxi acted so violently was because of Ye Yuni, the way Ye Yuni spoke.

Ye Yuni's words were like an axe as she fearlessly hacked and hacked at Ye Yuni's body, unceasingly gouging out the source of her viciousness and ruthlessness. Her words flooded into Zhu Zhu and Ann Qianxi who were standing to one side.

Ann Qianxi knew that a crack had been split open between the three of them by this axe. Something would quickly descend like the crust of the Arctic Ice and personally fill everyone's heart with cold shards of ice.

Ann Qianxi couldn't remember how she and Zhu Zhu went downstairs. They got in the elevator, got out of the elevator, went into the lobby, and walked out of the lobby. The rain outside was getting heavier, and Zhu Zhu was standing under a huge white umbrella.

Maybe Ann Qianxi's eyes were filled with tears and her vision was blurry. She could only see the furry edges of her surroundings, the bus noise was loud, and the people inside the window were like sardines. They were all expressionless.

Ann Qianxi sent Zhu Zhu on her way. It was as if she was holding a farewell that was not about life or death, but about survival. It was a farewell where one world went to another. It was a very cruel farewell about adults.

Ann Qianxi knew Zhu Zhu was sad, and she couldn't think of anything to say to comfort her.

Zhu Zhu held up the umbrella and waved at Ann Qianxi. Separated by a layer of rain and fog was her wet young face. From afar, it looked extremely like an Impressionist oil painting. Only her pitch-black eyes flashed stubbornly.

It was a river that could not be crossed.

When the bus doors were closed, they had already taken Zhu Zhu's back away. Ann Qianxi opened her mouth wide as rainwater flowed down her face. The warm years of laughter and laughter were like a small glass slice that was placed between them.

Now, this tiny, unremarkable glass slice had turned into a sharp blade that could hurt people.

After sending Zhu Zhu off, Ann Qianxi returned to the company by herself. She lifted her head and looked at the reflection in the mirror in her elevator. Her eyes were wet and her eyelashes were stuck together by the rain.

Ye Yuni would never be embarrassed, never be disappointed, sad, she would always be full of energy like the Queen of Victoria.

That was why she spoke to Ann Qianxi with that tone and that face of hers, "Why are you acting like a sister with such deep affection for me? Ann Qianxi, aren't you very good at acting? Go ahead and pretend — continue acting!"

Then the door slammed again in front of Ann Qianxi, and in the loud noise, some things also shattered along with it.

Ann Qianxi returned to the teahouse, the aroma of coffee and milk tea bubbling and steaming in the gloomy city of April.

Ann Qianxi finished making a cup of hot milk tea in front of the water dispenser and sat in the corner with the cup in her hands. There was an oval tear drop in the steaming cup, a tiny pop, as if something had cut through the iris of a thin heart.

Ann Qianxi rubbed her eyes. She felt a pair of soft hands gently covering her head. "Shaojun?"

Ann Qianxi raised her head to meet that person's gaze. It was indeed Chi Shaojun. His silhouette was much gentler than before on the pure white soft sweater.

There was a sand-like silence between his brows. Chi Shaojun stopped in front of Ann Qianxi, squatted down, and put his hands on her knees. He looked extremely gentle.

"Why are you here?" Ann Qianxi's voice was hoarse and soft.

"I have a group of photos to take upstairs, so I came down." Previously, he only knew that Chi Shaojun had an invincible male strength, but he didn't feel that he had such a gentle, rain-like side to him.

He took Ann Qianxi's cold hand above her knee. "I heard you were in the tea room and I came." He looked into her eyes. "What's the matter?" Are you feeling wronged? "

Ann Qianxi shook her head stubbornly. A teardrop fell down the corner of her eye and landed on the back of Chi Shaojun's hand.

"Come here." he said softly, and then quietly opened his arms to wrap Ann Qianxi in them, the faint scent of mint spreading around her.

Ann Qianxi was sitting, Chi Shaojun was half squatting, her head was buried in his chest, her ear was pressed against his chest, and she could clearly feel his strong heartbeat.

"Do you have business after work?" He rubbed Ann Qianxi's hair. She raised her head and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. "I'm fine."

"Then let's go to the movies." Chi Shaojun's eyes were filled with affection.

Ann Qianxi thought for a moment. "Yes." Nodding, she looked at him, and they looked at each other in silence, so well coordinated, so comfortable.

He didn't ask her why she was crying, and she didn't tell him either. Chi Shaojun didn't need any comforting words, as long as he showed up in front of her and said something softly, anything could be fine.

"Sure, what are we going to look for?"

"How's Nezha?" Chi Shaojun suggested as his eyes lit up.

"What's there to see in an animated cartoon with a red apron?" Ann Qianxi casually said. She didn't notice the expression on Chi Shaojun's face as he looked at her, as if he was admiring a child. "Then what do you want to see?"

"Let's watch a love movie, A Tale More Grief Than Grief." He suggested it in a particularly matter-of-fact way.
