C13 I Didn't Say I Wouldn't Kill You

"Hammer!"

With a swift raise of his hand, Su Yun summoned the Divine Hammer, which materialized from his palm and swelled to a formidable two-meter size. Without a word, he executed a full 360-degree sweeping strike.

The hammer's unleashed lightning forced the black-clad figures to falter and hastily retreat.

"Who are you?" Su Yun demanded, his voice icy as he confronted the masked men before him.

"Your executioners!" retorted the leader of the men in black, his weapon gleaming dangerously as he channeled Soul Power into the blade and delivered a slanting cut.

"Thunder Hammer!"

Su Yun's gaze intensified, the wooden hammer in his grasp alive with ferocious lightning. He met the attack head-on, hammer raised.

Boom!

The collision of hammer and blade sent a brilliant burst of yellow lightning crackling through the air.

Puff!

The man in black expelled a mouthful of blood and was hurled backward, blade and all.

The remaining assailants watched in horror.

Their leader, defeated in a single clash?

"If you refuse to speak, then you can all die!" Su Yun declared emotionlessly. His wooden hammer, crackling with untamed lightning, smashed directly toward the two nearest men in black.

"This is bad!"

Panic etched itself on their faces.

But it was too late for resistance; Su Yun's hammer was already upon them.

Boom! Boom!

In two explosive moments, the men who had been alive mere seconds before were now nothing but dissipating mists of blood.

"Run! Run for your lives!"

The rest of the men in black blanched, stumbling backward before turning to flee.

Su Yun remained stoic, his eyes sparking with yellow lightning as he swiftly gave chase.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A succession of blasts turned the damp forest path into a macabre stream of blood.

"This... This..."

Apart from Su Yun, only the terror-stricken leader of the men in black remained, collapsed in front of a tree.

Su Yun slowly turned, advancing step by step toward him through the intensifying rain.

"Don't come any closer!" the man in black shrieked, consumed by fear.

But Su Yun's advance was relentless, his pace steady and unyielding.

With each step forward, the man's heart pounded violently, fear engulfing his every fiber until he finally blurted out in desperation, "I'll talk! I'll tell you everything! Just don't kill me!"

Su Yun had approached the man in black, stopping less than two meters away. Without a word, the violent electricity crackling in his hand ensured the man in black didn't dare to take him lightly. "Second Elder! It was the Second Elder who sent us!"

"Yun Linguang?" Su Yun lifted his gaze slightly.

The man in black nodded frantically, "Yes, that's him!"

"I see," Su Yun responded coolly before turning away.

The man in black let out a sigh of relief, but it was short-lived.

Bang!

In an instant, his eyes bulged in shock. As Su Yun turned, he swung the two-meter-long Divine Hammer, striking the man squarely in the chest.

"You!" The man's glare fixed on Su Yun.

"I never said I wouldn't kill you," Su Yun stated flatly.

With a final gasp, the man in black slumped, lifeless.

Su Yun remained impassive. His grandfather had taught him to never show mercy to enemies. Those who sought his life were fair game.

Looking towards the Yun family estate, Su Yun murmured, "Yun Linguang..." His eyes gleamed with a chilling coldness as if emerging from the darkest depths of the underworld.

...

Upon returning to the Yun family mansion, Su Yun didn't seek out Yun Linguang. Instead, he quietly retreated to his quarters. He knew that with Yun Linguang being a cultivator at the Soul Controlling Stage and within the Yun family's domain, it wasn't the time for confrontation. His priority was to grow stronger.

After shedding his wet garments, Su Yun showered and changed into fresh clothes before returning to his room. He sat in meditation on his bed for a good half-hour before opening his eyes and exhaling a long breath tinged with blood.

The blast from the Spirit Talisman he had triggered earlier had left him with minor injuries, but his robust Thunder God Holy Body had already mended itself during the brief respite. This remarkable self-healing was a hallmark of his extraordinary physique, a trait shared by many with special constitutions, far surpassing the recovery abilities of an average person.

Su Yun approached the table and began emptying the materials he had purchased from the Cloud Vast Treasure Pavilion out of the cloth bag one by one.

With the addition of the rusty iron chunk, there were seven types of materials in total, primarily metals.

"Let's get started!"

Exhaling softly, Su Yun summoned the Divine Hammer, grabbed three Spirit Stones along with a piece of silver iron, and set to work forging a Weapon.

"Success! A low-level Weapon has been forged!"

Within a minute, a gleaming silver dagger materialized before Su Yun.

"Hammer Spirit, it doesn't seem like the odds have improved at all..."

"Master, extra materials merely increase the chance of producing a high-level Weapon; it's not a guarantee."

"So, it's down to luck then..."

Su Yun gave a slight nod and reached for another set of three Spirit Stones and a piece of material.

"Success! A low-level Weapon has been forged!"

Shortly after, the familiar prompt echoed.

Su Yun's brow furrowed, yet he persisted, picking up another trio of Spirit Stones and material to continue his forging.

"Success! A low-level Weapon!"

Hearing the prompt once more, Su Yun's lips involuntarily began to twitch. "Hammer Spirit, are you certain you're not fooling me?"

"Master, why not give it a couple more tries?" suggested the Hammer Spirit.

"Success! A low-level Weapon! Success! A low-level Weapon!"

After two more attempts, Su Yun's suspicion was confirmed. "You're definitely messing with me!"

The Hammer Spirit cheerfully replied, "Master, the process is indeed subject to probability. Perhaps another try?"

Su Yun rolled his eyes in exasperation.

Glancing at the five low-level Weapons on the table, he couldn't help but feel a pang of regret. If he had simply used Spirit Stones for forging, the five materials he'd used could have been converted into Spirit Stones, allowing him to create over a dozen more low-level Weapons. That's hundreds of Spirit Stones!

"Success! A high-level Weapon has been forged!"

"Huh?"

Another prompt suddenly caught Su Yun's attention, and he quickly turned to look.

Before him lay a sword, its surface etched with dark patterns. Merely gazing upon it, one could sense an invisible, piercing sharpness.

"See, Master? There it is," the Hammer Spirit's voice chimed in just then.

Su Yun rolled his eyes, but the sight of the black sword blade quickly spread a grin of delight across his face.

A High Level Weapon was a treasure indeed. Its value? Easily tenfold that of a Middle Level Weapon, if not more!

Shua Shua!

Gripping the black blade, Su Yun swung it twice, the lethal arc of the sword making it hard for him to let go.

For a Soul Cultivator, a fine weapon held an irresistible allure. Su Yun could sense that wielding this blade in battle would undoubtedly boost his strength by a solid twenty to thirty percent.

"Hu..."

He took a deep breath, set the sword blade aside, and turned his attention to the remaining piece of rusty metal on the table, his eyes brimming with eager anticipation.

Now came the main event—forging a Soul Weapon.

The mere thought sent a thrill through Su Yun.

"Forging!"

He steadied his breath and whispered the command. The Divine Hammer struck the rusty metal.

Ding!

The first impact resonated with a distinct tone, unlike any other material.

As Su Yun watched, the point of contact between the Divine Hammer and the metal burst into a blinding light.

Then came a symphony of clangs and crackles that filled the room.

This forging session was set to outlast all others.

One minute, two minutes, five minutes...

Nearly fifteen minutes passed.

Boom!

Like a firework exploding, a brilliant light display erupted before Su Yun's eyes.

"Buzz buzz..."

The light dissipated, leaving a rich, pervasive aura of Soul Power in its wake.

"Forging successful. One Spirit Level Soul Weapon created!"

A voice announced in Su Yun's ear.

But his attention was fixed on the spectacle before him—the silver spear shaft adorned with golden patterns, topped by a ring of platinum, leading to the gleaming silver tip.

Its mere presence seemed to envelop the room in an invisible force of Soul Power.

Silver Soul Spear!

The name surfaced in Su Yun's mind, a moniker bestowed by the Divine Hammer itself.

"Hu..."

Inhaling deeply, Su Yun reached out and firmly grasped the shaft of the Silver Soul Spear.

Boom!

In that instant, Soul Power surged uncontrollably from within Su Yun, flowing through his palm and into the spear.

Buzz!

The silver spear burst forth with a dazzling radiance.

A bond formed in Su Yun's heart, granting him a clear sense of connection to the spear.

Weapon and wielder, united.

This hallmark of a Soul Weapon could empower Soul Cultivators to exert greater force in battle!

"Excellent spear!"

With just a brief connection, Su Yun could already sense the astounding sharpness contained within the spear.

Brandishing this spear against foes, it seemed likely that even those at the Soul Controlling Stage would struggle to withstand its might!

"Buzz! Buzz!"

Suddenly, the Divine Hammer, which had been hovering nearby, pulsed with light and surged back into his body.
