C2 Bullying Others too Much!

Luo Lingyan turned around to see an elderly woman, her hair white with age, wearing patched clothes, entering the room.

Who is this?

"Grandma's here, hurry up and eat!" Luo Zixuan's voice reached Luo Lingyan's ears.

"Okay!" Luo Fengjiao didn't care about burning her mouth and started eating ravenously.

So, it was the previous owner's grandmother, Mrs. Hong.

"Mom's here, and we didn't cook much, just a couple of potatoes. If you haven't eaten yet, take my bowl."

"Mom, we're out of food at home, and you're so badly hurt. You need to eat something, or you won't make it. Let's split my bowl with Grandma." Seeing Mrs. Chung being so generous made Luo Lingyan quietly angry.

Her children were already not getting enough to eat, and with her injuries, she needed sustenance to survive. Yet, she was still being so generous, almost recklessly so.

"Eat, eat, eat. All you think about is eating. Especially you. We still owe a silver coin to the military doctor who treated you and your mother the other day. Now, hurry up and go chop some wood in the mountains."

A military doctor? In this remote area, where would a military doctor come from?

Last night, Luo Lingyan only had a bowl of wild greens, and now she was both hungry and weak. Yet, her grandmother, Mrs. Hong, showed no familial affection, forcibly taking the potato soup meant for her and Mrs. Chung. It was simply outrageous.

Seeing Mrs. Hong walk away, Lingyan brought a bowl of potato soup to Mrs. Chung's bedside.

"Mom, you eat first! I'll head up the mountain to find some food," Lingyan said, relieved she had saved two small bowls. Otherwise, Mrs. Chung would have gone hungry for half the day.

Maybe it was because she felt a duty to care for the family after occupying their daughter's body. Lingyan felt both angry and sympathetic toward Mrs. Chung.

"Yan, I..."

"Just eat!" Lingyan didn't have the energy for a lecture. Turning around, she looked at her younger siblings. "Xuan, Feng, come with me!" She didn't know the way and was afraid of fainting on the mountain with no one to find her.

"Okay, I'll grab a knife and a basket."

"I'll carry the hoe."

"Yan, take care of your brother and sister, and don't go to the top of the mountain."

"I know, Mom." After a few days of feeling down, Lingyan finally accepted the situation and pulled herself together.

The Luo family's thatched house was built against the mountain. Around them were wooden houses and thatched roofs, with the best being adobe houses. But what era was this, and where exactly were they?

In the past, she and her best friend went into the mountains to sketch at least once a week, so she was used to mountain life. But if she'd known she'd end up mysteriously buried in the mountains, she would never have gone in.

Sigh, I wonder what's going on with my best friend. Is she going to blame herself and feel sad because of my death?

"Sis, where are we going to find something to eat?" Seeing no response from Lingyan, Zixuan called softly again, "Sis!"

"Huh?" Lingyan snapped out of her sadness and tried to force a smile. "What?"

Zixuan repeated his question.

"Oh, I'll go with whatever you guys decide. I don't have any ideas right now."

"Then let's head to Yangping. Maybe we'll find some bananas," Zixuan suggested.

"Okay." Lingyan wasn't used to wearing straw sandals, and her hunger made it even harder to keep up with the two kids.

Even though the sun was already up, stepping into the creek didn't feel stifling. Suddenly, a small fish bumped into Lingyan's foot, and she was as delighted as a child. "Hey, there's a fish, there's a fish!"

But the little fish in the creek seemed to be quite the escape artist, and no matter how hard the three of them tried, they couldn't catch it.

"Too bad we don't have an electric fishing rod, or we'd have fish to eat," Lingyan said, and her stomach growled even louder at the thought.

"Sis, what's an electric fishing rod?" Fengjiao asked curiously.

"Nothing."

After wading through the creek and walking for about fifteen minutes along a narrow path, Lingyan followed them into the forest. Their presence seemed to have startled the birds searching for breakfast, and they all took off into the sky at once.

She struggled up the steep slope, her eyes darting between the ground and the branches, hoping to spot some edible wild fruits. Suddenly, about fifty feet away, a cluster of bright red berries and some vibrant wild greens caught her eye.
