Before the old woman could think further, a maid came running over in a panic, shouting, "Mrs. Gray, Mrs. Gray!"

"What are you yelling about?" The women exchanged glances, and one of them quietly slipped into the house while Mrs. Gray stayed behind, her face stern and unyielding.

The maid had been shouting out of urgency, but upon seeing Mrs. Gray's expression
