C11

The cave entrance was not big at first, but as they went down, it became wider and wider. When they arrived at the two stone doors, it had become a large hall that was about three meters tall and five meters wide.

I asked Bao Mu who was the first to arrive, "Brother Bao, have you ever seen such a scene? Why is there such a thing in the well? "

Bao Mu shook his head: "All of us in the Northeast region are for the protection of the Family Immortal, this definitely has nothing to do with that."

Hamborg was still as casual as before, "What is there to study, open the door and take a look." He stood alone in front of the door, pushing open a stone door with each of his arms. With a loud roar, he pushed open the three meter high stone door with all his strength!

The moment the stone door opened, Bao Mu and I simultaneously dodged to the side. This cave had been sealed for who knows how many years; But unexpectedly, there was not the slightest movement, only Hamborg stood there stupidly as he watched.

"Hey, what's the matter with you?" When I walked up to him, I was also stunned.

He followed the direction of the stone door that Hamborg had pushed open and looked inside. Inside was a huge hall, all the way down neat stone steps, on both sides of the hall, there was something every two to three meters that looked like a lampstand, extending to the side of a stone platform that was roughly thirty meters away. The stone platform was ten meters square, with a stone bed in the middle. Each corner of the stone bed had a lamp that was flickering, allowing one to be able to see the circular ditch that surrounded the stone bed.

"What the hell is this place?" I swear.

"The altar." Hamborg's voice was exceptionally low.

I turned to look at him. "The altar in the well?" What is the purpose of this? "

Hamborg did not say anything, sighed, then skillfully took out a lighter from my pocket, rubbed it before moving it to the side.

Following his movements, both lanterns were lit up, extending all the way to the altar. The most dazzling thing was undoubtedly the surroundings of the stone bed. The entire ditch was lit up with a bang, and the fire illuminated the entire altar until it was as bright as day.

Under the illumination of the flames, it was clear that this was a huge cave. Other than the stone bed in the middle, there was also a stone pillar around each corner with some indistinct patterns engraved on it. Four balls of flames lit up at the top of the stone pillar. In the middle of the four stone pillars was a huge pool of water. Under the flickering light of the fire, the pool water surrounded the stone platform. On the other side of the steps where we were standing, there was another flight of steps, and there were only the two that faced each other if we wanted to climb onto the stone platform.

"What the hell is this place?" I couldn't help but ask again.

Hamborg's muffled voice trembled slightly, "Fourth Boss, don't look to the distance, just look at the lampstand beside you."

I pulled my gaze back to a lampstand beside me. In that instant, I felt my scalp tingle, my hair stand on end, and my whole body was covered with blood. I thought that I have seen some things in the world following the people from Baxian Hotel, but I never thought that these so-called lampstands, are not lampstands at all!

How was this a lampstand? This was clearly a human! A five or six year old child on his knees!

A child in a short purple coat was kneeling on the ground, his hands tied behind his back. A stake the size of a fist was protruding from his open mouth, and the light was coming from the cotton rope that had been wrapped around the stake. The child's eyes were wide open. Although his eyeballs had long since lost all life, he could still feel the pain and unwillingness. The surface of the corpse was covered by a layer of wax that made it appear pale white.

I looked up and saw that one lampstand was a child, with a boy on the left and a girl on the right. There were twenty children on this thirty meter flight of stairs, and if the stone steps opposite were the same, there were forty children!

"They were nailed here alive?" My voice was trembling, not from fear, but from anger.

Hamborg nodded his head and said, "Tie the child up, first fill the bottle with water, then pour the wax.

"Wax? Isn't this corpse wax? " I don't quite understand

Hamborg shook his head: "No, this was poured over them. Not only can it protect them from corrosion, it can also prevent bodily fluids from leaking. Otherwise, there's no blood under their bodies."

Just as I was looking carefully at the little corpse next to me, I suddenly realized that the corner of the little corpse's eyes had twitched, scaring me to the point that I jumped back a step. When I wanted to go closer to look, Bao Mu called out to me from a pillar not far away, "Fourth Boss, come look at this."

From afar, this pillar looked like it was made of stone, and there were even some indistinct patterns on it. However, when he walked up to it, he discovered that the pillar was actually translucent and hollow. The dusky color and patterns were all caused by the things within the pillar. The things inside the pillar were all human beings.

The hollow pillars that were six to seven meters tall and as thick as two arms were filled with bodies. There were people of all ages, both male and female, and it was hard to count just how many of them were inside. From afar, the pillar seemed to have some sort of pattern on it. It was caused by these corpses' legs and arms being pressed tightly against the translucent stone wall.

These corpses all grimaced in pain, and their faces were hideous. It was obvious that they were thrown into a pillar alive and had to undergo a great deal of pain before they could die. In the middle of the corpses, a huge pillar reached the top of the pillar, and at the top of the pillar was a blazing flame.

"What the hell is going on?" The usually calm Bao Mu was also a little excited.

Hamborg stared at the pillar for a while, then turned and said to the two of us, "My master once told me that there is a legendary altar that uses people as lamps, so they cannot be reincarnated. They can only serve this ghost on the altar, and this should be it."

"Ghost Altar? Do ghosts even know how to do this? " I'm confused by what I hear

Hamborg shook his head: "All altars are made by people. "It's just that what is being sacrificed is a ghost, using people to raise ghosts, making that ghost become stronger and stronger, and using it to achieve human goals."

"Then can I understand it this way? That Spectre in the village was raised by the village itself, and this so called Ancestral Well is the place where ghosts are raised. Right now, the Spectre has lost control, so they lured us down to serve the well, using us to calm the anger of the Spectre? " I quickly organized my thoughts.

"No, ghosts have ways to raise them. I have never heard of anyone who can raise Spectre." Bao Mu interrupted me and said, "Let's go to the stone platform to take a look. Maybe we've discovered something."

The three of them walked along the stone steps to the stone platform and carefully observed the stone bed that was surrounded by flames. This stone bed looked extremely ordinary. Other than the fact that the material was stone, it was no different from a bed that could be seen everywhere.

"If this is an altar, then this stone bed is the real place for the offerings, right?" I pointed to the figure in the middle of the stone bed.

Hamborg nodded his head: "Right now, I just do not know where the ghost they are keeping is. Other than Brother Bao, we have not found any traces of it.

I turned and walked to the edge of the platform. "Could it be water?" The water was pitch-black even though it was close by. It was impossible to tell how deep it was.

"Fourth Boss!" Hamborg suddenly called out to me.

I turned my head and saw that Hamborg's big foot was already right in front of me!

This kick of Hamborg's landed on my chest. Luckily, after stepping on it, I was sent flying five to six meters back, before I could even crawl back up, a black shadow had already rushed out of the water and directly pounced on Hamborg, stretching its claws out to scratch him.

The medicine jars that Hamborg had used for decades were not for nothing. He swung his sandbag sized fist and smashed at the black figure, making him shriek again and again. Before Bao Mu could go over to help, this guy had already pressed the black shadow under his body.

Bao Mu and I went closer to look, only to see that the thing was a mass of black from top to bottom, with only two white eyes and a pair of huge eyes. The thing was hanging, with two fierce fangs protruding from its head, and its ears like that of a cat's.

"What is this?" I turned to Bao Mu and asked, "Lynx?"

Bao Mu shook his head: "I've never seen this thing before, I'm familiar with the Five Great Immortals of the Northeast. "I can't say."

"Hey hey, are you two done yet? Help me out. This little thing is quite strong." Hamborg was unhappy.

Bao Mu laughed mischievously as he took off a piece of cloth from the octagonal drum and tied up this little thing together with Hamborg. The little guy's temper wasn't small. He had been tied up like a crab and was baring his fangs at us.

I looked at the little black cat like item in my hand and asked, "How do I deal with this thing?"

Bao Mu looked at it and said, "Bring it back, this kind of place would definitely not be normal. Let the person on the sixth floor see, she has a research on this stuff."

While they were talking, the little black cat suddenly changed. Its fur all over its body exploded, and its white eyeballs started to turn red, as if it was dyed in blood. Its neck was trying its best to twist in the other direction of the tunnel. It opened its mouth and bared its sharp teeth, making a hissing sound as it charged at the dark hole. Even its bound limbs were twitching.

Just as I was about to raise my head to ask Bao Mu, I realized that Bao Mu and Hamborg were already on alert, as if they had met a great enemy. Bao Mu's left hand held the octagonal drum and his right hand held the Martial King Whip. He stared fixedly at the tunnel entrance as scales slowly started to appear on his face. Hamborg started to take out something from his bag that his master had given him. It was said that it contained a lot of good stuff, and could save his life at critical moments.

After another half a minute, the black cat in its hand let out a mournful cry. At this moment, its eyes were so red that it was about to bleed. At the sound of its cry, a figure floated out of the cave and slowly landed on the stone platform. There was only a stone bed separating the three of us.

Under the light of the firelight, I carefully observed it. Its entire body was shrouded in a layer of black mist. I couldn't see its face clearly, but I could tell that it was in the shape of a human, but it definitely wasn't a human. There were four or five objects that looked like hands that were constantly dancing, and the black air surrounding its body seemed to be flowing unceasingly along with the rhythm of its breathing.

"What is this?" I whispered to Bao Mu.

Bao Mu's eyes had already become snake like pupils, and both his arms were covered with scales "This is that Spectre."

"Can you beat him?"

"Let's give it a try!" Just as Bao Mu's voice fell, he had already flown up with a whoosh, heavily smashing into the Spectre that was pouncing towards him!
