C13 MILLIONAIRE

I brought out the ring and then gave it to him. He looked stunned for a second and then hit it again. He took out a light and held the diamond over it. He then faced me and said, "I'll have to run some tests on this diamond but ma'am how did you get this". I already had a lie prepared. Of course no one would believe that I was given a diamond by a vampire princess who was my mate. They would think I was crazy and call the cops. I looked at him squarely and said "I was given this ring by my mother before she passed away, she told me that a long time ago, she happened to date this very rich man and he gave her this ring. But when things got sour, she left him and took only this ring with her. He didn't try retrieving but instead made it hers legally. On her death bed, she gave it to me and made me swear that I'll never sell it till I was at my last resort. I promised her and ever since she died, things fell apart. I've been on the streets for three years until I finally made up my mind to see what this ring was. If it was a fake I know I'll get thrown in jail and honestly I won't mind. Life has never been fair to me". He looked at me sadly. Believing every word I said.

Hmm I don't think many people came here to have their rings tested cause the police threat often scared them away. So I must either be crazy or super bold either way I had no other choice.

He then put the ring in a machine and told me "I'm so sorry for your loss ma'am. I'll test it right away it might take an hour but from the texture and my own personal analysis of the ring, I'm very sure it must be a very expensive diamond". I didn't say but just nodded. I didn't want to get my hopes too high so I was just cool about it. In a while, I'll know.

AN HOUR LATER.....

"The results are out ma'am. Shall I read them to you??" "Oh yes please do I" said gripping my chair in anticipation. He then opened the results and gasped. Huhhh "what is it sir". I asked a bit worried". "Maa.....ma'am, this ring is known as the famous Cullinan diamond. It's worth is from 400 million dollars upwards. Ma'am you're a millionaire now". I looked at him in shock but held it down. "Woww so who can I meet to sell this diamond to??" He then looked at me and said "I'll take you to the executive on the top floor and we'll pay up immediately. Because I've validated your story". I looked at him a bit sorry for lying but with gratitude.

He then led the way through a door and we entered another elevator. I was so silent but was screaming on the inside. I was a millionaire now. Luckily I still had my account details but I didn't have a card so I'll get a number and collect one today 🤧. I was rich baby.

At the executive office, I met a man. He didn't say much except "congratulations ma'am" and asked for my bank details. It felt like a dream as he transferred the money. My next trip was to the bank to get a card. A tiring process. I walked back and took the elevator back to the main floor. As I walked past the lady at the reception. I looked at her and smirked. She looked shock to see me and I knew I blew her mind. Hmm "take that you bitch". I thought silently as I walked out. I may have lost a diamond but at least I'm a millionaire now and a hungry one at that.

I walked to the bank as I had no money on me whatsoever to even hire a cab. I remembered my bank name and details and in two hours, I had a card, purchased an apartment and ordered for food with it. I was so relieved. I hadn't even spent up to fifty million out of the 600 million I was given. I withdrew a thousand dollars cash and took an Uber home.

When I got to my new and already furnished apartment. I stumbled in and felt the day's toll come on me. Despite how happy I was, I felt so empty. Aurora wasn't here and it made me so sad. I sat on the floor and begun to cry. Even a day without her made me feel useless and miserable. Was this how connected we were??. I then dried off my tears and promised never to forget all the time we had. I will get my vengeance...!!!!
