C70 Ice Fairies

Before the Ice God statue lay a tray-like object for placing sacrifices. The rewards varied with the quantity and quality of the offerings, and this principle applied to the types of sacrifices as well. Offering Crystal Formation Water would surely summon elves, with the caliber of the elf depending on the water's quantity and quality.

Wang Yan had journeyed far, pausing now and then, unearthing over a hundred pieces of Crystal Formation Water, uncertain of the kind of elf he might call forth. He reserved one piece of the water and heaped the rest onto the tray, causing the space around him to warp immediately.

"Here's hoping for something normal this time," Wang Yan wished quietly, tired of dealing with those deranged spirit beasts. Another elf might just push him over the edge.

The distortions in space grew, eventually swirling into a vortex. From behind him, something the size of a fist shot out, tracing an arc through the air before crashing to the ground and bouncing.

Wang Yan's heart sank at the sight, a bad feeling washing over him. And when he got a clear look at the creature, his heart skipped a beat. It resembled a tiny human, with pointed ears and three pairs of transparent wings. Its heavy eyeshadow and six earrings didn't bode well—it didn't seem like a friendly elf.

The creature picked itself up, surveyed its surroundings, and upon spotting Wang Yan, it zipped over to the tray. It twirled a small dagger deftly on its fingertip while its other hand produced a cigarette from thin air and placed it between its lips. Lounging back with crossed legs, it had the air of a ruffian.

With a snap, a spark burst into existence, lighting the cigarette. The elf inhaled deeply and drawled, "So, you're my master, huh? Who do you want me to take care of?"

As it exhaled a ring of smoke, the elf slammed its dagger into the tray with a show of defiance.

"Who am I supposed to kill with this little thing? Flies?" Goldie's eyes flickered with contempt.

"Wow, even the sand sculptures are talking now. Must be living the good life," it mocked.

"Oh, great, looking for a fight, are we?" Wang Yan retorted, bracing himself.

Goldie's fur bristled on its neck, as if it were ready to roll up its sleeves and throw down.

"Ha, you think you've got me rattled with just one sentence? You're not quite there yet!"

The little sprite let out a derisive snort, sheathed her dagger, and fearlessly flicked away her cigarette ash before launching into a tirade of insults at Goldie.

Wang Yan: "..."

He glanced at the little sprite and then at the towering statue of the Ice God, feeling a weight in his chest akin to the gloom of a dog's bad day.

"I seem to recall that elves are born from natural elements and the essence of plants, known for their gentle and simple natures. This one, however, might just be a demon elf..."

After some thought, Wang Yan decided to give it another try.

The deities of water, ice, and snow were quite generous.

If one wasn't pleased with their offering, it could be exchanged.

As long as the spatial vortex remained, there were no limits to the number of exchanges.

Determined, Wang Yan grabbed the sprite, intent on stuffing her back into the vortex.

This creature was too much trouble, holding its own in a verbal spar with Goldie for three solid minutes.

Keeping it would mean the end of peaceful days ahead.

Sensing Wang Yan's intent, the sprite began to struggle desperately.

But the sprite's frail body, coupled with the constraints of a temporary contract, meant its efforts to escape were futile.

"Big brother, I don't want to go back, please don't make me! Ah, help! Damn it, let go! Let go of me now! I beg you, I admit I was wrong, just don't send me back, I'll do anything you ask."

Wang Yan was unmoved by the sprite's pleas.

Having lived through so much in two lifetimes, his heart had grown as cold as a fishmonger's blade.

He sent the sprite into the vortex, and in the next instant, another sprite popped out.

The new sprite looked around in confusion, then looked up at Wang Yan with an embarrassed grin.

"Big brother, here we are again!"

Wang Yan remained stoic and silent, shoving her back into the vortex a second time.

And then...

"Maybe you could just keep me here..."

"Heh!"

Wang Yan let out a cold laugh and seized her once more.

But just as he was about to force her back a third time, the spatial vortex vanished.

Wang Yan was at a loss for words.

The little sprite wore an expression of pure innocence, while Goldie grimaced as if in pain.

It was clear that things were about to get interesting.

The fact that he could hold his own against Goldie spoke volumes about his capabilities.

Wang Yan checked the sprite's stats on the panel and was pleasantly surprised by the impressive attributes.

Name: Ice Sprite

Quality: Lord (Requires a large amount of pure ice elements)

Attribute: Ice

Quality Skills:

Ice Crystal Hell: An elite skill that creates a field of ice crystals, eroding all targets within range with a chilling poison. The Ice Sprite can manipulate the cold around and within a target, causing instant freezing.

Ice Crystal Cold Rain: A leader skill that transforms cold air into ice spikes, launching a blanket assault on all targets within range. The ice rain carries a stacking cold poison with no upper limit.

Diamond Starlight: A lord skill that detonates compressed ice elements at their limit, inflicting piercing damage on targets within range and leaving a substantial amount of cold poison in their bodies.

"Wow, the skills may be few, but they're all about wide-scale devastation. Just one hit, and you're either dead or maimed," Wang Yan thought, impressed. Despite the sprite's seemingly off-kilter mind, her combat power was off the charts.

With proper training, she might just give Goldie a run for his money.

And it looks like they're already on equal footing when it comes to trading barbs.

"So, why don't you want to go back? Is it because you've been swayed by my overwhelming presence and wish to serve me for life?" Wang Yan posed the question, gazing skyward with a smug look on his face.

"Brother, could you be any more shameless?" the little sprite scoffed, her face then clouding over with sadness.

"I eat a lot, way too much. They don't want to play with me because of it," she lamented, her body slumping in a gesture of defeat.

"I really don't want to be like this, but going hungry is just too hard to bear."

"That's all?"

Goldie cocked its tail, a challenging look on its face.

"Isn't that sufficient?"

The little sprite didn't retort, but instead slowly rose and addressed Wang Yan with a hint of grievance, "I'm not asking for much, just enough to be full. Actually, half full will do!"

"Pfft, I thought you had some real skills. Turns out you're just a fool who can't even get a proper meal."

With a snort, Goldie pulled a box from its storage ring and tossed it to the little sprite.

"Here, have a treat on me!"

The sprite: "???"

Quietly opening the box, the sprite delicately licked the ice cream inside.

"Big brother, is there any more?"

After gobbling down the ice cream and looking pitifully at Goldie, the little sprite asked.

"Stay on my good side, and you'll get to eat it every day."

Goldie strutted, its head feathers perking up in pride.

"Got it. From now on, I'm your underling. Whoever you say to take on, I'll take on!"

The sprite thumped her chest, her resolve unwavering.

"Sigh."

Wang Yan surveyed the scene before him: the bird, the sprite, and the rice bucket sticking out its tongue. Life seemed a little gray.

"Starting today, you're 'Stick.'"

"No way, I object! I'm an Ice Fairy, how can I be saddled with such a name?"

The sprite's fists were balled up, her voice brimming with resistance.

"Ice cream fills you up! Food does too!"

"Master, I'll be your most devoted hound from now on!"

Rice Bucket: "???"

While other matters might be complicated, Wang Yan was confident he could at least ensure everyone was well-fed.

Stick didn't need regular food but substances rich in elements like water, ice, and snow.

Not bothering with the details, Wang Yan simply handed over a water element crystal and let Stick munch away.
