C72 God Forbidden Area

"I think I'm starting to get why they're at each other's throats."

Wang Yan pieced together the story after overhearing the exchange between the Fire God and the Ice God.

The Fire God was a brawler by nature and somehow picked a fight with the Ice God.

The latter was not a fan of conflict, but after relentless provocation from the Fire God, he lashed out in frustration, battling and attempting to seal his aggressor.

Over time, the seal weakened. Sensing trouble, the Ice God plotted to slip away under the guise of a foreigner.

Predictably, at the crucial moment, the Fire God shattered the seal and resumed their clash.

The fool with the stick who was summoned three times wasn't just a stroke of luck; he was part of the Ice God's scheme to use his identity as a smokescreen to stealthily flee the Mystic Ice Realm.

Her tales of hunger and exclusion were nothing but a ruse.

The Ice God's plan was clever, but the Fire God seemed to have the upper hand.

He broke free at the pivotal moment, thwarting the Ice God's escape.

Wang Yan felt like he was in a bind, and the belief system of the three sects' followers crumbled.

In their eyes, gods were supposed to be mighty and benevolent.

They worshipped the gods, and in return, they were watched over.

But now, they realized that to the gods, the faithful were as insignificant as ants, easily discarded.

The so-called divine love for humanity was merely the ants' delusion.

"Boss, should we make a run for it?"

Goldie, scratching his head with his wings, inquired.

"No rush, let's just enjoy the spectacle for now."

Wang Yan surveyed the scene and decided to step back and take in the drama from a safe distance.

The Ice God and the Fire God were locked in an epic showdown, unleashing a technique akin to the One Qi Three Clarities.

The Water God, Ice God, and Snow God, united as one, teamed up against the Fire God.

They had managed to seal the Fire God once before, and even if they couldn't best him this time, they wouldn't be utterly defeated.

So, there was no need to fear the world being shattered; they could simply sit back and watch.

Even if things took a turn for the worse, Wang Yan was confident he could make a safe exit.

He had been clutching the Spatial Transfer Device the entire time, ready to teleport away at a moment's notice.

The clash between the Ice God and the Fire God was ferocious, with neither of the four combatants pulling any punches. Within moments, three cities lay in ruins. The so-called faithful and children of the gods were nearly annihilated. The air was thick with wails, screams, and the desperate howls of the dying, all tangled together in a cacophony of despair.

"That's why gods are just something to mention in passing," Wang Yan said with a sneer. "When real trouble comes, relying on gods? Fat chance! If you're not wiped out by a divine whim, consider yourself lucky."

"The Flame Empire didn't rise to dominate this world through divine intervention, but through the valiant sacrifices of its heroes and martyrs. Gods can't save us; only we can save ourselves."

"That's a solid point!"

Goldie nodded, its expression grave.

Wang Yan had instilled hope in it, aiding its growth, transforming its once aimless existence, and offering it the chance to become the legendary King of 100 Birds. It was tangible help that deserved reverence, not the empty promises of pie-in-the-sky dreamers. To Goldie, Wang Yan was the true god.

As the battle between the Fire God and Ice God intensified, the sky was a maelstrom of snow and flames. Wang Yan kept a safe distance, not wanting to be caught in the crossfire. Observing such a titanic struggle was invaluable for his own development, ensuring he wouldn't be caught off guard if he ever faced them again.

The conflict raged on for half a day, with both deities' powers waning and their sphere of influence shrinking. Wang Yan, Goldie, and Rice Bucket lounged in their chairs, a drink in one hand and snacks in the other, as if they were spectators at an epic blockbuster.

"Boss, who do you think will win? Fire God or Ice God? Or will they both end up equally battered?"

Goldie asked, sipping contentedly as its feathers fluffed up in pleasure.

"My bet's on both sustaining injuries," Wang Yan replied, cradling Moon with a look of contentment. "The Ice God has always been a bit stronger, evident from his past ability to seal the Fire God. But time has passed, and while the Fire God's power has been confined to just three cities, the Ice God's influence has swept through the Mystic Ice Realm, altering its climate. Given the way things are going, it's highly likely they'll both end up worse for wear."

"Hmm, that's a valid point."

Goldie nodded, feeling a bit slow on the uptake.

The battle raged on, though the noise was gradually diminishing.

Wang Yan estimated that in no more than ten minutes, it would all be over.

"Pack up, we're pulling out."

Wang Yan rose to his feet. He had no interest in witnessing the outcome between the Ice God and Fire God, nor did he intend to opportunistically reap any benefits.

With his capabilities, he could take down a god, even one at their weakest.

There was no need to risk his life for gain unless absolutely necessary, and Wang Yan was not one to make that trade lightly.

The old adage was true: the tree may crave stillness, but the wind does not cease.

Wang Yan preferred to avoid trouble, yet trouble seemed to have a knack for finding him.

At the battleground of the Ice God and Fire God, an unexpected turn of events unfolded.

"Fire God, you've crossed the line. If that's how it is, let's go down together!"

A sharp voice, filled with indescribable rage and a chilling intent to kill, rang out as a white light burst forth, transforming into a blizzard that blanketed the heavens.

"Die together? Not a chance!"

The Fire God's gruff voice boomed in response, his fiery blaze spreading like fireworks in every direction.

As the Ice God and Fire God clashed with desperate ferocity, the shockwaves sent tremors throughout the Mystic Ice Realm.

In an instant, the energies converged, and with a dazzling flash, a meteor burst from the epicenter of the conflict, hurtling straight for Wang Yan.

"Holy shit!"

In the face of this development, Wang Yan abandoned any thought of packing. With a mere thought, he secured Goldie and Moon within the Soul Contract. Seizing Rice Bucket by the ear with one hand, he shattered the space converter with the other.

An unseen force enveloped Wang Yan and Rice Bucket, ripping through space to transport them to a predetermined location.

However, just as the teleportation commenced, a streak of blue and white shadow slipped into the range of the space converter prematurely.

...

...

At the military headquarters of M Province, a cadre of influential figures capable of making the province tremble thrice over were in the midst of a meeting.

"Hmm?"

Wang Yi's brow furrowed as he looked off into the distance.

"Commander, what's going on?"

Luo Zu inquired.

"Two minor deities are closing in; they'll be at the office in no more than thirty seconds."

"The office?"

Luo Zu was momentarily taken aback by Wang Yi's announcement.

Just two lowly gods brazen enough to breach the military region of M Province and make a beeline for the commander's office? They clearly had no idea what they were flirting with.

"Their energy is rapidly fading, and..."

Wang Yi paused mid-sentence, his face etched with intrigue, "Two contradictory forces merging? Fascinating, truly fascinating!"

"Let's wrap up here for today. Notification for the next meeting will be sent out later."

With a casual wave, Wang Yi dispersed the gathering.

In the next instant, he and Luo Zu vanished, reappearing in the office through a spatial shift.

"The office is the target, could it possibly be..."

It dawned on Luo Zu at that moment.

The only explanation for bypassing the military region of M Province's defenses to access the commander's office was if the commander himself had allowed it.

"Indeed, it's that kid Wang Yan."

Wang Yi confirmed with a nod. Though the details were unclear, Wang Yan's energy was steady; he seemed unharmed.

"In such a short time, he's already entangled with deities?"

Luo Zu shook his head in disbelief, the situation striking him as utterly surreal.

Thirty seconds vanished as quickly as they came, and with a surge of spatial turbulence, three figures were ejected.

Rice Bucket tumbled and smacked his head against the wall with a thud.

Wang Yan, a bit luckier, landed on Rice Bucket.

"Awoo?"

Rice Bucket staggered to his feet, his gaze clouded with bewilderment.

Already not the sharpest tool, the blow to his head only compounded his intellectual deficit.

Wang Yan was largely unscathed, save for a twisted ankle from the tumble, which would heal with a bit of rest.

"Where are we?"

Struggling beneath the dog's belly, a stick the size of a fist wriggled out.

His head throbbed, his last clear memory of soaking in a hot spring.

"This is a sanctuary of the gods!"

Wang Yi observed the stick, holding back from any immediate action.

He detected Wang Yan's essence on this diminutive creature. A hasty kill could backfire, harming Wang Yan with the recoil.

"Sanctuary of the gods? What does that mean?"

The stick froze momentarily as a jumble of memories suddenly surfaced in his mind, causing his expression to wildly shift.

He darted behind Wang Yan, only his small head peeking out.

"This is my master. If you have an issue, talk to him. I don't know anything!"

"Your master?"

Wang Yi was taken aback by the stick's declaration.

A divine being claiming his own nephew as his master? That's absurd!

"Huh? You're still alive?"

Surprise etched Wang Yan's face upon noticing the stick.

He had distinctly seen the stick explode; how could it be standing before him now?

"So, you were hoping I'd die, huh!"

The stick's face soured with displeasure.

"Hold on, your eyes..."

Wang Yan seized the stick, examining it closely.

One eye was as pure white as snow, while the other shimmered like a crystal of sky blue.

"What's wrong with my eyes?"

The stick seemed oblivious to its altered appearance, shaking its head and wriggling its body.

In no time, the white and blue eyes reverted to their original state, indistinguishable from before.

"Explain to me what exactly happened."

Wang Yi gestured to the nearby sofa, signaling Wang Yan to take a seat.

"Alright."

Wang Yan nodded and recounted his experiences in the Mystic Ice Realm in great detail.

He kept quiet about his immunity to the cold poison, but he didn't conceal anything else.

Wang Yi was his uncle, after all, and meant him no harm.

Besides, if it weren't for the Spatial Transfer device, he might have perished there.

"The Ice God and Fire God clashing? That's intriguing!"

Having heard Wang Yan's account, Wang Yi had a pretty clear picture of the situation.

"If I'm not mistaken, the Ice God must have sealed his own powers, hoping to use your identity as a disguise to escape the Mystic Ice Realm. But the Fire God caught on, leading to an epic confrontation. Both the Ice God and Fire God were gravely wounded in the battle. In their final throes, they somehow began to merge. This little one is a false persona crafted by the Ice God, who managed to hide within the depths of the Ice God's soul during the clash with the Fire God. As they fused, in his weakened state, he emerged and assumed control."

At that moment, a smile unexpectedly surfaced on Wang Yi's face.

"Due to the considerable distance, his instincts drove him to close the gap, and you, sensing the peril, made the timely decision to flee..."
