C73 Curled up into a Dog

Wang Yan was baffled. "??"

Could this really be happening?

"So, is this little thing actually a god now?"

He scratched his head in disbelief; the stick seemed to have nothing divine about it.

"God? Am I a god?"

At Wang Yi's words, the stick burst out from behind Wang Yan.

It laughed maniacally three times, then struck a pose with one hand on its hip and the other pointing dramatically.

"Behold the True God! Why aren't you bowing?"

"I'll bow to your grandpa!"

With a swift slap, the so-called true god was promptly subdued.

"Alright, let's move on."

Wang Yan exhaled and nonchalantly tossed the stick into a trash can.

Wang Yi was at a loss for words.

Luo Zu was equally speechless.

Both had weathered many storms, yet this spectacle still gave them a headache.

"Hold on, I need to examine this little thing."

Wang Yi sighed, and without any visible effort, the stick from the trash can materialized in his hand.

He kneaded and squeezed it as if it were putty.

In Wang Yan's eyes, it seemed a burst of pure white light exploded, followed by a subtle fade of azure.

"All clear, the safety hazard is gone. You can head back now."

With a wave of his hand, Wang Yi teleported Wang Yan to M Province University before he could even ask a question.

"Commander, what just happened? It looked like you scattered their divine essence..."

Luo Zu couldn't contain his curiosity after Wang Yan had been whisked away.

"Two gods, barely grazing the realm of myth, meddled with that sprite. One aimed for a cicada's escape, the other for a cuckoo's deceit."

A sneer played on Wang Yi's lips. "Still, merging fire and ice, two opposing forces, shows some skill."

"Scattering their divine essence, returning millennia of cultivation to the cosmos—it's the only act of grace these contemptible deities are capable of..."

...

...

Suddenly, in the grove of M Province University, a man and a dog appeared out of nowhere.

"What's happening here? This is all so secretive!"

Wang Yan grumbled to himself, his thoughts swirling into chaos.

His second uncle, Wang Yi, had explained that the Ice God created a persona named Stick to escape the Mystic Ice Realm under the guise of this new identity. When the Fire God discovered this, a fierce battle ensued, leaving both deities severely weakened. Somehow, they began to merge.

Now, the two gods were at their weakest, and Stick's persona had taken the lead.

Did that mean this goofy little sprite had become a deity?

Startled by the thought, Wang Yan hurried to inspect Stick's attributes.

Name: Ice Fire Sprite (Stick)

Quality: Lord

Attributes: Ice, Fire

Upgrade: Requires a vast amount of ice and fire elements.

Quality Skills:

Ice Crystal Hell: Elite Skill, conjures a realm of ice crystals, eroding all targets within with cold poison. The Ice Sprite can instantly freeze the cold within and around its target.

Raging Flame Sea: Elite Skill, summons a sea of flames, scorching all targets within range and accumulating a substantial amount of Fire Poison within them. The Fire Sprite can ignite the Fire Poison around and within its targets, causing internal combustion.

Ice Crystal Cold Rain: Leader Skill, condenses cold air into ice spikes, assaulting all targets in range. The ice rain inflicts stacking cold poison without limit.

Raging Flame Heaven's Fury: Leader Skill, unleashes a cataclysmic burst of flames, causing massive shock and burn damage to nearby targets.

Diamond Starlight: Lord Skill, a forceful fusion of ice and fire powers. If successful, it creates a controllable Ice Flame Giant. If the fusion fails, it results in a devastating bombardment and piercing attacks on all targets in range.

Though Stick retained his original, simple-minded appearance, his abilities had undergone a complete transformation.

In addition to his base skills, he now possessed corresponding elite and leader skills, and his lord skill was no longer purely ice-based but a blend of ice and fire.

Wang Yan couldn't gauge the full extent of these new powers, but with the combined forces of the Ice God and Fire God, they were bound to be formidable.

"Ah, I've accidentally gotten stronger again. Who can I even talk to about this?"

Wang Yan let out a sigh, sinking into a profound sense of guilt.

According to the principle of "relativity," everything in the world is relative.

As Wang Yan grew stronger, it meant that others grew weaker in comparison.

The stronger Wang Yan became, the more diminished others seemed.

If this trend continued, by the time Wang Yan ascended to the sacred throne, everyone else in the world would be reduced to mere weaklings.

Such a grave sin!

"Master, what shall we do next?"

The stick glanced around curiously, fascinated by everything it saw.

Created by the Ice God, it was a virtual personality that had recently become real, though its mind was still not filled with much.

"Let's go home and sleep."

Wang Yan mounted his dog, placed the stick atop its head, and they ambled along leisurely.

It was the early morning; the air was crisp, the temperature pleasant. A group of elderly men were exercising in the field, while several elderly women walked their pets.

They were relatives of the school's staff, lacking the gift of a beast tamer, but keeping a clever pet was well within their means.

A woman in red and a woman in black, each walking their dogs, were about to cross paths when they abruptly halted.

In an instant, the air thickened, and a palpable aura of lethal intent filled the area.

The woman in red looked on with scorn, her wrinkled face trembling slightly as she unleashed a voice as startling as thunder.

"Sit!"

Her command echoed far and wide, with an authority that seemed to resonate through the very earth.

The Pekingese she held was instantly cowed by her imperious presence, promptly sitting down and wagging its tail, as if to curry favor.

The woman in red lifted her gaze, her eyes brimming with challenge.

The woman in black was no ordinary individual. Without any visible action, she exuded an invisible power that radiated outward.

With her breath, the very heavens and earth seemed to quake, birds and beasts fell silent, and even the woman in red found herself involuntarily holding her breath.

"Sit!"

Her voice was measured, neither loud nor hushed, steady and composed, yet it struck the ears with the force of a thunderclap, shaking one's very soul.

The Shih Tzu beside him shuddered, its hind legs giving out as it plopped down onto the ground.

"Heh!"

The woman in black scoffed with disdain, leading the Shih Tzu away and leaving behind the menacing woman in red and the forlorn Pekingese.

Wang Yan observed the Pekingese, which seemed to understand that it was destined to be coerced into learning foreign languages upon its return. Yet, there was no trace of anger or fear in its gaze, only bewilderment.

It was as if it was questioning, Why all this fuss among fellow canines?

"Has it come to this, dogs getting caught up in the rat race too?"

Wang Yan let out a sigh. He had always thought the phrase 'working like a dog' was a self-mocking quip, but now, the rivalry among dogs had escalated to such fervor.

"Awoo?"

Rice Bucket glanced back at Wang Yan, his instincts alert to the looming threat.

"Relax, I won't make you learn foreign languages."

Wang Yan patted Rice Bucket's large head, silently adding, "With your smarts, it's unlikely you'd manage it anyway."
