C4 Who Would Have Thought

I want to think so much! Plus the next day I start work! I was assigned as a receptionist and maybe I'm still under observation.

I'm already thinking that maybe Faustino plans to take revenge on me because of what I've done. Why didn't he confront me when he saw me?

"There, Ava! That's right for you!" Aunty Pena showed me how well she sewed the skirt I would use for work. It's a black color that's a bit short.

"Thank you, Pena!"

"There are three more here. Different colors! I'm just going to sew them first, right? Isn't it going to be a match?"

I nodded. "Yes! I'm leaving. I'll cook our dish later."

"Wow! Alright. My husband and I miss your cooking."

Pena has no child. They were planning to adopt me in case I came, so instead, they take good care of me.

They are one of the people who have been my supporter. Especially when I gave birth and woke up with Mom next to me. I breastfed Ginger for six months when my mother forced me to go abroad.

She was nervous for us.

I didn't follow that until Mom and I had a fight and she brought Ginger with her back to Manila. Now, I still miss my daughter, so I put all my attention into studying. My friends didn't leave my side either.

I'm unlucky in love but I'm lucky with the people around me.

I went to the mall to buy heels and a blouse. In the past year, I have not been spending too much money and have not bought unnecessary things. I am also saving for Ginger's future.

I smile every time I remember her ginger hair. But the rest, especially the eyes, belong to Faustino.

Looks like I need a new shoulder bag that I can use.

There are many people inside the mall. I went to the third floor and shopped there for blouses that I could use.

I chose gray and white. I also chose a formal V-neck T-shirt and a bag. I entered the fitting room to measure if it was right for me.

I took off my top clothes and almost screamed when the door lock suddenly clicked and a man entered.

Shit!!

He covered my mouth immediately. I was cornered against the wall by his arm. He was panting as if from running.

"Sorry." he bit his lip and looked at my chest. I covered it. "Someone is just chasing me."

Shit. Austin's tattooed arm appeared to me. I closed my eyes remembering the tense arms when I was on the sofa and the unknown man was on top of me.

I almost blushed with embarrassment.

"Long time no see." his voice was sarcastic. I just nodded and walked away.

Maybe that's what he's hiding from someone.

I went home after buying food. I rode a tricycle and it stopped me on the highway.

"Thank you!" I smiled at the driver as he helped me pick up my shopping.

"You look beautiful!"

I just laughed because I've heard it several times and just laughed.

I was arranging the groceries in my hand when I spotted a car. It's a black Hilux. Cars are rare here, except for tourists who want to swim in the sea.

I got nervous. I think it's already in my system to be nervous especially when I think that Faustino follow me here. They already know I'm here. What are they going to do with me now?

Will they jail me?

Even at home, I was still nervous at the thought. For several years I was not given the peaceful life I imagined.

The next day I woke up early and got ready. Aunty Pena served me a dish and coffee.

"Thank you Aunty Pen."

"That's nothing! Good luck at work!"

"Yes!"

My hair is just loose and has not been combed. After I ate I brushed my teeth and went back upstairs to curl the ends of my hair.

I also smiled when I held my new bag. When I left the house, Aunty Pena saw me immediately.

"Oh, you're so beautiful! You seem like there are some models and actresses abroad,!"

I just laughed at Aunty Pena. On the way, many tricycle drivers were waiting again and they almost fought over who would give me a ride.

I entered the South Gate Inn and was greeted

"Miss Ava! I think you were looking for me upstairs. You have a meeting ."

I hit my forehead. Am I always late?

"Oh sorry! “

"Oh, hurry up! Sir Grey's head is hot!"

I got nervous.

I quickly went to the second floor. I was almost sweating when I opened the conference room of the hotel because their eyes were already on me.

I realized that there are many of us now. almost all employers are here.

"Sorry, I'm late." I apologize and bow to take a seat. Immediately some men stood up.

It's still going ahead and arguing about whose seat I'll accept.

"Hey! I'm first! "

"Shut up! I'm more handsome than you!"

"Let's make fun of you now, I'm more handsome!"

"Can we proceed now? I'm running some errands today." Faustino's cold voice stopped them.

"Manners please," Faustino added, embarrassing me.

I swallowed and sat down. I'm embarrassed because I was late for the first meeting and work.

Instead of sitting down, Faustino stood on the side as if inspecting. I also saw that there were some weights because of what they were wearing and their aura. He doesn't seem to be from here either.

"So our target is to increase our sales this year."

I couldn't focus anymore especially when mom called me so many times! I want to answer you but I can't. I canceled it and just texted my mom.

Mom also returned several replies because of your nose. I was nervous and quickly searched for the silent mode on my cellphone.

"Miss Ava! Are you listening?!" shouted the secretary, slapping his hand on our table.

"Ay, Faustino's it!" I was very surprised so I shouted that!

The people in here almost roared with laughter. The others gaped and shifted their gaze to Faustino who bit his lip and bowed but I saw a smile on his lips!

I bit my lip bit by bit in shame! In the end, the conference was filled with laughter.

I bowed hard.

Shit, Ava. Who would have thought that I could say that?
