C3 Three

Quinn's POV

It was Friday night, the night before my 'date' with Leo. We had been texting on and off throughout the week.

We had decided to go to the movies, and then out for ice cream. He mocked me for what I said about not wanting a relationship, and said we could do something more casual.

I sat alone in my room, laughing to myself at the stupid texts that Leo sent me.

I'm excited for our date tomorrow, Sunshine ;)

ha ha, what date?

aren't we going out tomorrow?

not a date. as friends.

rightttt, whatever you say hun.

Hun. Something about that made my stomach flutter.

I was getting ready for my date with Leo and I had no idea how to dress. It's not a date-date, but I still want to look good.

I chose a pair of white jeans and a baby blue crop top. I paired the outfit with wedges and a small purse. I just finished styling my hair when Leo texted me that he was outside.

"Hey Q, where are you going?" Morgan asked from the couch.

"I'm going out. Tell mom I'll be home later." I told her. "Holy shit," I exclaimed as I opened the door.

Leo was in the driveway, but not in a car. On his motorcycle.

"You didn't tell me you were bringing your motorcycle."

"What's wrong, sunshine? Never been on a motorcycle before?" I shook my head and his lips pulled into a grin.

"There's a first time for everything." He handed me a helmet and I sat down behind him.

"Hold on." I wrapped my arms around his torso.

He took off and I squealed. It was thrilling. The feeling of the wind on my skin as we sped down the road was something amazing.

We got there pretty fast, and the ride was surprisingly enjoyable. I took off my helmet and attempted to fix how messed up my hair was.

"That was great!" I flashed a goofy smile at Leo.

He ran his fingers through his hair and laughed.

"Let's go, sunshine. We don't wanna miss the movie." We walked into the theatre. His hand brushed against mine, but I pulled my hand away. He almost look disappointed, but brushed it off quickly.

We got our tickets and snacks and headed into theatre. We picked seats all the way in the back of the theatre.

"I hope you didn't pick these seats because you think I'm gonna make out with you." I gave him a glare.

"Damn, sunshine. Foiled my plan. Kidding, the back seats are just the best." I nodded and sat down next to him.

"You know, this movie is supposed to be really scary. If you need to, you can hold my hand." He smiled at me.

"Ha ha. Jokes on you. I love scary movies. I've been watching them since I was a kid."

——

I couldn't stop laughing. We were walking out the theatre and I nearly had tears in my eyes.

"Oh my god. You're such a baby." I laughed as Leo pouted at me. During the movie, Leo got so scared that he jumped and spilled all of our popcorn.

"That movie was really scary. How were you not terrified?" He asked, his cheeks tinged pink.

"Do you need me to hold your hand?" I asked it sarcastically but he looked at me and smiled.

"I do." He grab my hand and intertwined it with his. His hand was warm and soft and mine fit perfectly in his. I tried not to let it show that his hold was affecting me.

"Ice cream?" He asked.

"Mmm. I'm starving. Especially after a certain someone spilled all of our popcorn."

We walked to ice cream parlor, hands still intertwined. He swung our hands we we walked.

"What's your favorite flavor?" I asked him.

"Chocolate." He started simply. I scrunched up my nose in response.

"Ew. Chocolate? Really?"

"Oh yeah? Well what's yours?"

"Mint chocolate chip."

"Not bad. But not as good as chocolate."

Leo went up to the counter and ordered for us. I sat down at a small table outside.

As we began eating, I realized how cold it was outside. And the ice cream wasn't helping. I was shivering, and I wasn't doing a very good job at hiding it either.

"Are you cold? Take my jacket." Leo began taking off his coat.

"No! I mean, no uh I'm good."

"I'm not dumb. I can see you shaking. Just take it."

"Leo, we're not on a date. You can't use all your moves on me."

"Seems like a date to me." He said and he got up and draped his jacket over my shoulders.

"Leo." His green eyes sparkled as he started deep into mine.

"Why won't you just let this happen, sunshine." He said, his voice at a whisper. I looked away, and didn't respond. He sighed and said back down across from me.

We finished our ice cream in silence, and walked back to where Leo's motorcycle was parked.

I went to give Leo his jacket back but he just shook his head.

"You're gonna want that for the ride."

We got back to my house, and he walked me up to the door.

"Thank you, Leo. I had a lot of fun." I said, looking at my feet.

"Me too. We'll have to hang out again, soon. As friends, you know." He said with a smile.

"Yeah." I was getting lost in his eyes. I couldn't help it. His eyes flickered down to my lips and back to my eyes.

"Goodnight, sunshine."

"Goodnight, Leo."

I stepped inside and watched him drive away.

As I got ready for bed, I replayed tonight's events in my head.

Just friends. I don't know him that well. I'm sure he does this with everyone.

I can't let myself for him. He's a player.

Right?
