C4 Four

Quinn's POV

It had been a week since that Saturday night with Leo. Honestly, we had gotten pretty close. We walk to class together, talk in class, one day he even brought me home from school on his motorcycle. He was becoming a good friend. But I still couldn't shake this feeling.

He'd continued flirting, but he wasn't coming on extremely strong. I was getting used to being around him. I was just about to send him a text when I hear a knock on my bedroom door.

"What's up?" I called out.

Thomas poked his head in. "I'm having some friends over tonight. Just figured I'd let you know."

"Alright. Thanks for letting me know."

"Yup."

It was late in the afternoon but I was really bored, so I figured I'd go for a run. I changed into some athletic pants and a sports bra. I grabbed my headphones and headed down stairs.

"Hey mom. I'm going on a run."I called to my mom, who was cooking in the kitchen.

"Okay, hun." She replied.

I stepped outside. It was kind of cool, but good weather for running. I took off down the street. My music was all the way up, and I blocked out everything else.

I don't know how long I was running for, but when I stopped at the park but the sun was beginning to go down. I began running back home, and made it back just before it got dark. I was sweating and felt exhausted.

"I'm home!" I called out as I walked past the kitchen. I ran upstairs and straight to the bathroom to shower.

Since I didn't grab any clothes, I wrapped myself in a towel. It's a short walk to my room.

I opened the door and was greeted by a wide-eyed, smiling Leo.

"Jesus!" I jumped back, losing grip on my towel.

"It's Leo, babe. Not Jesus." He replied with a smirk. I rolled my eyes

"How long have you been standing there?" I asked, annoyance clear in my voice.

"Not long. I didn't think anyone was in here, but I was wrong." He smiled, scanning my body.

"Yeah, well be a good friend, and stop hitting on me." I pushed past him and scurried to my room.

I quickly got dressed and went straight to Thomas's room. He was playing video games with his friends, Sam and Connor. I gave them a small wave and turned my attention to Thomas.

"Thomas. Can I talk to you?" He put his controller down and came out to the hallway. I closed the door behind him.

"You didn't tell me Leo was coming."

"I told you I was having friends over."

"But you never told me that he would be here!"

"Woahh, what's the big deal, Quinn?" He asked, a smirk beginning to form on his face.

"The big deal is that —" Before I could finish my sentence, I was interrupted.

"Hey Thomas. Sunshine. Whatcha talking about?" Leo asked, standing between us.

"You." Thomas said bluntly.

Leo looked at me with a smile and just nodded. "Nice."

He walked back into Thomas's room. "Asshole." I hit my brothers arm before turning and heading back to my room.

After that little incident, I decided to lay in bed and watch Netflix alone.About an hour later, there was a knock on the door. "It's me." I heard my little sister, Morgan's, voice from the other side of the door.

I quickly got up and opened the door. I let her in and shut the door behind me.

"Wanna watch a movie?" I asked. She smiled and picked up the remote. She chose her favorite movie, Tangled.

Shortly after, she fell asleep. I wasn't strong enough to carry her to her room, so I went to go ask Thomas to do it.

I wandered to his room and poked my head in.

"Thomas?" I looked in and didn't see him.

"Whats up, Q?" Connor asked when he saw me.

"I need Thomas to bring Morgan to her room, she fell asleep but I can't carry her. And I don't want to wake her up." He nodded.

"Thomas is in the bathroom. I'll do it." Leo got up and walked towards me.

"You don't have to. It's fine." I tried to explain but he didn't listen.

"I got this, sunshine." He whispered in my ear as he walked by. He gently picked up Morgan in his arms. I opened her bedroom door and he laid her down on her bed. He covered her with her blanket and tucked her in.

I stood in the doorway and watched. I couldn't help but smile at how gentle he was with her. He turned and saw me smiling.

"What?" He looked at me confused.

"Nothing. It's just sweet how gentle you are with her." I noticed him smile slightly, but he looked away.

He walked out of the room and quietly shut the door behind him.

"Yeah, well I know how to treat girls, sunshine." He stepped close to me and I could feel the warmth of his breath on my face. He pushed a piece of hair behind me ear, keeping his eyes on mine.

He smiled and walked back to Thomas's room. I stayed frozen, my back against Morgan's door. My cheeks were warm and my hands were clammy.

Thomas walked out of the bathroom and saw me.

"What's up with you?" He asked.

I just smiled and shook my head. "It's nothing." I walked back to my room and laid in bed, replaying the events in my head.

Once I was settled in bed, I tried to talk myself down. "I know how to treat girls, sunshine," Leo's words echoed in my mind. I didn't know what to think. I had heard rumors about him. I didn't want to be hurt.

I though about our date last weekend. He was so sweet to me. He was kind, he made me feel good. People can change, cant they?
