C5 Five

Quinn's POV

I lost track of time watching tv. When I checked my phone, it was already 2 am. I decided to head downstairs and get a drink of water.

I tip toed down the stairs and into the kitchen. I reached up to get a glass and I felt it slip out of my hand. I covered my face and braced myself for the crash, but I never heard it hit the floor.

I turned around to see Leo standing behind me, the glass in his hand.

"What are you stalking me of something?" I shouted in a whisper.

"You're lucky I'm here, sunshine. You would've made a mess if it weren't for me." He said, with a smug look on his face.

"Why do you keep calling me sunshine?" I asked.

"Because that's what you are. You're bright and beautiful."

I kept my head down to hide my smile, and the obvious blush on my cheeks. He took a step toward me, gently placing his fingers under my chin to tilt my face up to meet his.

"Leo..." my voice was at a low whisper. His eyes flickered to my lips. Slowly, he inched his face toward mine.

"Tell me if you want me to stop." He said in a hushed tone. He was so close to my face that I could feel the warmth of his breath against my face. I didn't know how to feel. No words came out to try and stop him.

This was happening.

He broke the space between us and kissed me. It was gentle, yet passionate. My whole body felt as if lit up with sparks.

He pulled away, his green eyes sparkling. I was speechless and I didn't know what to do. Leo just laughed lightly, a smile on his lips.

"Goodnight sunshine." He winked and headed back upstairs.

I stood in the kitchen, leaning against the counter. I was stunned. The kiss was amazing. I had never felt sparks like that before, especially from just a kiss.

I headed back upstairs and into my room. I flopped into my bed and stared up at the ceiling. I didn't even get my glass of water.

I had to figure out how to deal with this. With him.

I woke up late the next morning. I came down stairs and all the boys were at the kitchen table eating breakfast.

I walked up behind Thomas and took a piece of bacon from his plate.

"Hey!" He exclaimed.

"Sharing is caring." I flashed smiled at him.

I took a seat in between Sam and Thomas and my mom carried over a plate of food and placed in front of me.

"Thanks mom." I said as she kissed me on the forehead.

"I'm headed to work. You kids behave!" She called out over her shoulder.

"Sup, Sammy?"I quickly leaned my head on his shoulder.

"Hey Q." He gave me a cheesy grin before shoving more food in his mouth. I was probably closest with Sam out of all of my brothers friends. We had known Sam since we were 7, and he was always so nice to me. We always joked that we would get married when we were older.

I felt a pair of eyes on me as I ate. I looked up at Leo and saw him smiling at me from across the table. I cleared my throat and looked away.

"Something wrong, Quinn?" He asked.

"N-no. I'm fine." I took a sip of my orange juice.

The boys at the table gave me a questioning look but didn't say anything. I kept my eyes focused on my food, avoiding eye contact with anyone. Especially Leo.

"Excuse me." I got up and went into the bathroom. Closing the door behind me, I leaned against it with a thud.

I rubbed my eyes and sighed. What the hell was he doing to me?

Looking at myself in the mirror, I took a deep breath.. Take it easy. If he wants to flirt, flirt back. Don't let him dominate you. That's how you get hurt.

I splashed some water on my face before leaving the bathroom. I sat back down at my seat, giving a small smile to the boys. I continued eating my breakfast, listening to some story that Derek was telling.

Leo raised a questioning brow and I shook my head. Finishing my breakfast, I picked up my plate and took it into the kitchen. Not wanting to spend anymore time in this awkward situation, I headed back to my room.

Flopping back on my bed, I texted my friends to make plans for today.

Leah agreed to come over and hang out today, and I began planning my outfit. I took my time getting ready, not changing much of my appearance.

I still had time to waste before hanging out with Leah, so I sat at my desk to work on some homework.

She texted me that she was on her way, and I headed downstairs so I could meet her. When I saw her car pull in the driveway, I opened the door.

"Hey!" She exclaimed. Her brown curls cascaded down her shoulders and her blue eyes were perfectly winged with black eyeliner.

I smiled, stepping back so she could come in. We went to the kitchen and she opened the fridge, helping herself to a a drink.

"Thomas here?" She asked.

"Yeah. He has some friends over. They're probably upstairs." I replied.

She nodded. "Connor?" Leah had recently started crushing on Connor, but was too shy to do anything about it.

"Yes, he's here. So is Derek. And Sam. And Leo." At the mention of his name she whipped her head in my direction.

"Leo's here? Did you talk?" I nodded.

"Well he was a flirt, as usual. And I went downstairs late last night to get a drink, and he was there. And we kissed," I explained nonchalantly.

She looked at me, beaming. "So what's the plan?"

"For tonight?" I asked.

"Okay, but that's not what I meant." She said. I gave her a confused look.

"With Leo." She stated.

"What about me?" Leo asked. Speak of the devil. Of course he had to come in now.

"Nothing." I ignored his presence while I looked for a snack.

"Something, clearly. It seems you have a habit of talking about me. Not that I'm complaining." He leaned in the doorway, smirking at me. Damn, he sure was attractive.

Leah was sitting on the counter, obviously entertained.

"Looks like you two should talk. I'll be upstairs." And with that, she left.

It was just Leo and I now. You could cut the tension with a knife.

"Are we going to talk about last night?" I asked.

"The kiss?" He asked.

I rolled my eyes. "Duh."

"You're really pretty. I couldn't help myself." I just looked at him.

Moments went by, I was doing my best to read him. He stepped closer to me.

"It's really simple, sunshine. I kiss girls I like. So last night, I kissed you. I can do it again if you still don't get it." We were inches apart at this point.

"I don't think I understand yet." My voice was a low whisper as I smiled up at him, placing my hand on his cheek.

I brought his face to meet mine mine, and I kissed him.
